  1. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 10:25 PM) I hope Ozzie doesn't ruin him by causing him to swing for homers. Let the power develop naturally over the years. Keep him away from the hitting coach then....
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 10:20 PM) Yep, but people were comparing him to great players like Sizemore just three days ago. I just hope that he turns out to not be our version of Sean Burroughs. I'm optimistic that he'll become a fine player. He is going to be a doubles type hitter. Lots of line drive power oppo. He will give us great defense. He probably wont be a dong hitter. But we have enough of those.
  3. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 10:19 PM) Uribe is baaaaacccckkkk!!!!!!! When he does this for more than a week, then I will say he is going to have his one prototypical good month. Until then he is a .230 hitter because he hits like a .230 hitter.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 10:18 PM) That loud sound is the Sweeney bandwagon coming to a crashing halt. He is 21, and needs more seasoning. He still has the best swing in our minor league organization. Winter ball is going to help Mr. Sweeney.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 10:16 PM) Lefty on the mound...why not let Anderson ph here? Anderson is to 2006, what Gload was to 2005.
  6. We need to slip a few of these into the clubhouse also....
  7. Some light reading for our hitters. Make sure that Mr. Walker doesnt catch you reading it though.
  8. QUOTE(Dan @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 08:52 PM) Sláinte! an bhfuil tú ar meisce fós?
  9. QUOTE(beautox @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 08:48 PM) Sweeny wants his first HR and GS Now you sound like our hitting coach. We want him to get a single. Keep the line moving. If he pitches you in, pull it, if he pitches you away hit it up the middle or the other way. Going up there and thinking dong sounds too much like what we have seen since the ASB.
  10. QUOTE(beautox @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 08:43 PM) well he got a hit, but.... He basically has to pull it where they arent right now. He cant help himself but to pull everything. Next pull monkey up with the bases stacked. All we need is a single.
  11. QUOTE(beautox @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 08:42 PM) s***!...he was out front trying to pull.... and he is 0-2 trying to pull that pitch. His only hope is that he pulls it somewhere where no one is.
  12. Here comes the barage of low and away to someone who hasnt figured out the pattern they are pitching him with.
  13. I hope the first order of business this offseason is the firing of Cora and Walker.
  14. Thats ballgame with our medicore offense. Kong pull ball, AJ pull ball. Everyone pull ball. Thank god we gave a 3 year deal to Walker.
  15. Zito is a flyball pitcher, at the cell it would be disaster. KW should be trying to accquire either sinkerball types, or strike out stuff guys if the cell is going to stay the way it is. We should at least try and start to take those types of arms in the draft for the next few years. We have our 2 safe guys now, Broadway and McCulloch. We can now start to go after stuff guys, guys who project better than 4th or 5th starter.
  16. QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 12:32 AM) Why do we have to rip on everyone.. even when he puts up career numbers for his third straight year. I mean he is only tenth the AL in rbi's and slugging. He is not one of our problems... believe it or not. Gload for konerko? You gain zero. If we get ballsy and put gload out in left for podsednik... Its called benching him for a night. How is that so out of order. Giving a guy who has been dragging for the last week or so, a night off to get his mental and physical approach together.
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 12:00 AM) This comming from the guy who's never seen a negative Buehrle thread, you can't be all that perceptive then. The continuing decline of Mark Buerhle monster thread that pops up yearly like clockwork doesnt ring a bell do this guy. LOL
  18. QUOTE(AlexB2009 @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 11:35 PM) I'm new here. Wats PFB? Chris Rongey the host of the postgame show on AM670 the Score.
  19. QUOTE(WCSox @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 06:35 PM) You're the one who needs to "get a clue" because I never said that last year's offense was "good in any way, shape or form." I said that Pods' ability to steal bases helped a team with a laughably-low OBP manufacture runs. Is that not accuate? Grow up. There's no denying that. Pods' ability to distract pitchers while on base also played a role. Our offense was downright rotten for most of the year last year. The only time our offense clicked was in June/July and for 2 weeks in the playoffs. The rest of the year our offense was amost unbearable to watch. Remember Dye and Konerko hitting like they didnt know how to hit. Remember August. Remember Everett and his slow bat so bad towards the end we replaced him right before the playoffs started. Remember Timo at 1st base, remember Timo as a DH. OUr offense was near the bottom in singles, in OBP, in doubles, in triples. We did one thing and one thing only, and that was hit the pretty white ball over the fence.
  20. Mairéad my niece has this name Aibrean Brianna Ciara Maura Tara
  21. The funniest PFB call in of the year bar none. The guy said since the sox plays in New York that we look like a "bunch of morons trying to hump a doorknob."
