  1. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 08:18 PM) Round of applause for Javy tonight. Great outing. Javy pitched well. The offense can go f*** themselves.
  2. QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 08:16 PM) I hope Ryan Sweeney stays as far away as possible from Walker. Dont worry, Greg probably has video of that line drive swing and has some tweaks he can give to Ryan to get those doubles into the stands. You just give up a tad on average, but the power numbers speak for themselves.
  3. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 08:15 PM) MVP chant is annoying. Its nice that they give Dye the respect he deserves. What a classy group of fans.
  4. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 08:13 PM) Back into a slump and looking bad at the plate. Sounds like he has been working some drills with Greg. Ozzie said Anderson needs to work on speed, or power and Greg doesnt want to lose another to the dark side. So he is working on the lift and pull technique that has made this team what it is today. Its time to unleash the power.
  5. Okay Mack should never ever ever play CF again for us. Sweeney can catch a fly ball and is lefty, and Anderson can catch a ball and has a right hand.
  6. I hate Fenway. Only a group of fools would imortalize a Neal Diamond song as part of their baseball tradition.
  7. QUOTE(chisox72 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 08:07 PM) Pods will wake up tomorrow, call Ozzie and tell him that he is done putting too much pressure on himself, Ozzie will agree and pencil him in. Ozzie will be damned if he is proven wrong about anything. We had a guy come out on the teams website, tell the world he doesnt feel comfortable playing CF and that Brian is a much better option. The manager then promptly talks about if he doesnt play Mack in CF its like giving up. Whatever that means. I guess not putting prancer in tomorrow as leadoff is like giving up.
  8. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 08:05 PM) Watch Ryan not start tomorrow, that's how Ozzie works. Ryan will play tomorrow. He will pinch run or be a defensive replacement.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 08:04 PM) Bring in Mackowiak...and swing for the fences. Thats what we are best at.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 08:00 PM) I like the decision to have Gload hit for Anderson. Gload for Anderson is a smart move. Cintron for Profundo is a good move also. Keep sweeney in though.
  11. The jason tyner play to have the twinks go ahead. Man on, he gets pitched away on 2 strikes and he goes with the pitch and hits it hard into left center. Thats what our guys should play like. Guillen spanks off to how the twins play, but has a hitting coach preaching the Earl Weaver offense.
  12. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 07:54 PM) Like every year pre-2005, we can point to a select few players that give it their all 100% of the time while the rest go through the motions. But wait a second, in Ozzies first press conference he said we would play grinderball, and if you didnt play baseball the right way you would sit no matter who you are. That he would motivate the players, and play aggressive baseball the right way.
  13. DJ Uribe doesnt come off of flyballs into the outfield. Stop making it sound like he had to make the play. Anderson pulled off, because numnuts would of crashed into him, because Profundo would of attempted to make the play.
  14. And like clockwork the rain shows up. The only good thing is this a Roger Bossard field, which means that even in that crappy dungheap of a park, it drains well.
  15. 2 pull monkeys back to back. Nice. Well this is just pathetic. I am glad we gave Mr. Pull Baseball Son a nice fat 3 year deal for underachieving as the hitting coach. He just got lucky that our offense got hot for a few weeks in the playoffs.
  16. Anytime Ozzie wants to give a week off to the Pull Monkey and use Gload, the happier I will be. He is worthless up at the plate right now.
  17. Sweeney should play some winter ball and work on his speed approach also. With his sweet ass swing and doubles approach, he could be sweet to replace Prancer. I am not sold on picking up 900 year old Dave Roberts who is Prancer II the older version.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 07:41 PM) I hope Pods was watching. From the bench, never to return to the starting lineup again.
  19. QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 07:39 PM) Is this the return of smallball? nah, Crede, Thome, and maybe Konerko will all go down swinging for the fences. Sweeney is even more aggresive then Pods. hooray! YES! What else is new!? Bad base running killing an inning! And actually looks faster than Prancer right now on the basepaths. Well we can send Pods to the woodchipper. He is officially over.
  20. Sweeney gets back, but Gooch was checking out a butterfly or something and gets doubled off. f***.
  21. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 07:33 PM) I can take a player failing because they're not very good. I can't f***ing watch as Pierzynski completely changes his approach from what was succesful in the first half. How is he that f***ing stupid? Although Pods is just as bad right now, I don't get anywhere as angry watching him. Last year the player who did that was named Aaron Rowand, who was hitting well for average and then at San Diego said that he was working on a new power stroke. Then pretty much was useless for most of the 2nd half. Hitting .245 in August and .235 in September. Carlos Lee was a doubles machine the year before. He was dominant raising his average 70 points over a long hitting streak. Then he decided to work over his swing to get more power. We then witnessed Carlos striking out and doing his best corpseball impersonation trying to hit dongs when we needed a single. I still love the doubles that Carlos hit off the wall, that he throught was a dong, then only to get tossed out by a mile at 2nd trying to hustle in after he posed Year after year we have guys with successful approaches, then a "power" element is added to their game and they become worthless in the second half with men on.
  22. Pretty much Sweeney has this game to hit and prove he can hit, or Guillen will bury his ass on the bench. He will be a defensive replacement or a pinch runner and that is it.
  23. QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 07:29 PM) how come every other team in the majors can find out how to hit this lefty, but he becomes cy young against us? Most major league teams are not pull monkey softball teams like ours. They have a few guys with a noticible dip in their back shoulder, we have the whole team doing this. Watch the twinks, you get 2 strikes on them, they look to go back up the middle and to right. It allows them to put contact on the ball, and not do too much with it. We swing like its 3-1 and no one is on base and K.
  24. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 07:27 PM) So when is the elusive "Closed door player meeting" going to happen? Kong thinks nothing is wrong. Until they are elminated they are still in it.
