  1. Lets keep marching a .since the allstar break 230 hitting, .280 OBP leadoff guy because god gave him a left hand, and Ozzie keeps thinking this is the marlins, but rests our hot hitting centerfielder and puts a butcher in CF. Ozzie thinks this is a one size fits all lineup. If you want to pinch hit Mack you must take out centerfielder. If you want to pinch hit Ozuna, you must take out LF, if you want to pinch hit Cintron you must take out Uribe or Gooch. I bet I can write a perl script that could automatically make lineup changes based on the Ozzie model and we could save the money we pay him. Why does our nearly 300 hitting CF since the allstar break, who is awsome defensively needs all sorts of rest, while our crappy hitting puss armed guy in LF keeps playing no matter what. This is getting to stupid levels here. Pods gets a free pass from our manager because he is in love with the Marlins type O. He was able to come up and have 4 ks with men on, when we had how many guys on the bench who would of been a better option in the 8th, because ozzie doesnt want to make a move. Ozzie is manuels reverso twin. Sunday lineups are not played once a week, pretty much our real lineup trots out once a week and then crap comes out daily. I thought that we were resting our guys for the september push. What a pile of s***.
  2. Glad to see Sweeney called up. He is one of my favorite prospects. I love his approach at the plate. I hope he hits well enough to give Ozzie something to think about this year, and definately next year for LF. Boone will be a better option than Damaso Cotts right now. The first thing I thought of when Stewart was on the list is we can finally PH AJ a bit earlier in a game that Sandy starts and not have Ozzie worry about having Mack catch if AJ gets hurt. Haeger I am torn on. A knuckler out of the pen???, would of rather had Tracey instead of Haeger.
  3. I would like to see Sweeney up, and a few games in LF while Pods and his prancing can learn what being a utility player is all about. Its Pods next job.
  4. QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 02:04 PM) Phil Nevin Since being acquired by the Cubs vs. righthanded pithchers : AB H HR Avg. 110 20 8 .318 Post All-Star Break stats against RH pitchers AB H HR Avg. 57 20 5 .351 Certainly not worthless. Neifi Perez with the Tigers 9 games at 2B and SS 0 errors 77 innings 53 total chances. Hasn't hurt them yet in the field. Nevin hit that against the weak NL. How good do you really think he is going to hit against the better AL. Phil Nevin is poo on a stick bad. Neifi Perez has to bat remember. He is horrible. He is just poo.
  5. Phil Nevin is worthless. He was a bad player, playing on a bad team. He was picked up about 5 weeks too late to help the cubs, it was a pointless move when it happened to the cubs, now the Twins make the same move. This is also a team that decided to start Tony Bautista at 3rd this year. The Nefi Perez move is the equivalent of someone picking up Timo Perez, and then worrying that it will affect the AL Central race. The more Neifi bats, the better for us. These moves dont do a thing positive for either team.
  6. Its real simple, Ozzie needs to play his starters not named Scott Podsednik 6 out of every 7 games until we clinch or are eliminated. His theory of this is why I rested our starters in the year was for the September push, well its september our guys should be rested, lets let them play. Brian Anderson needs to play everyday. Scott needs to sit on the pine and try a platoon of Ozuna and Mack in LF. Our pitching needs to man up and give us good effort. Our hitters have to get back to hitting line drives, and to stop trying to park every single pitch into the stands. Thinking line drives instead of going for the dong will immensley help our team when we get men in scoring position. Paulie specifically needs to start to go gap to gap and stop trying to wear out the left side of the infield. He has 20 GIDPs because he is such a slow pull monkey. When Paulie starts hitting dongs to right center I will know he is ready to take off. AJ needs to get back to being a spray hitter, and stop with his power impersonation. He is hitting just a bit over 200 in August, and his post allstar break average numbers are brutal. Its not expected that he hits so far above 300 for the second half, but when you see his average drop like a rock and all you see is him pulling the ball, this is not the AJ we need. AJ's oppo homer yesterday hopefully will get him on track for thinking entire field. And not just pull. AJ as a line drive hitter makes our O so much more dangerous.
  7. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 05:13 PM) Sept 1 is here. I want to see Sweeney in LF. I want to see Logan and less Cotts. Well can Sweeney hit better than .230 like our current leadoff guy does. I think he can. He has such an upgrade over noodle arms defense.
  8. If we dont rock Runnynose Hernandez this time around. He is f***ing terrible.
  9. QUOTE(PlunketChris @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 04:46 PM) edit: can't expect 2 sweeps in favor of us. Why. We are at home, they are a terrible road team. This is the same type of crap I saw posted when we split against KC at home. The worst road team in baseball trots in and takes 2 games. Come on. We could of won this today, but our O is in the 2nd half slumber they usually do.
  10. Since the allstar break Lets take 2 players. Pods is batting .230 with a .289 OBP. He only gets substituted against tough lefties. He should be benched, but gets trotted out there, like this is 2005. Anderson his hitting .297 with a .347 OBP. He gets pinch hit for, and is in a platoon. Ozzie needs his Marlin like guy or he cant function. AJ is hitting .250 since the ASB, including .216 for the month of August. Since he went into power mode.
  11. I am almost ready to put anyone in left besides Mr. Dergan.
  12. QUOTE(PlunketChris @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 04:30 PM) Sorry, forgot this board is a complete wash when looking for a positive or confidence. Ignore it if you must, but I think I made a decent point. We've got a chance, on paper, to do something decent with the next 3 days. Confidence, what are you Rongey. I saw a good opportunity to get a win and gain some ground against a terrible team. If you can smile and think happy thoughts after that, good for you.
  13. QUOTE(PlunketChris @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 04:24 PM) Let's take a gander at the positive... If we're still shooting for the division, we didn't lose any ground and Detriot has 3 with the Angels coming up. The Twins pick up one on us, but are still behind, and have 3 against the fairly hot Yankees coming up. We have 3 with the Royals coming up... The next 3 days can give us a nice buffer zone on the Twins and help us inch closer to The Tigers before we hit our more difficult end of the year. The tigers lost playing the Yankees, we lost playing the Rays at home. We are 4 1/2 out with 30 left to play. What in our play against the Royals this season gives you the idea that we will be able to build a buffer. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 04:25 PM) Post ASB, our offense is 7th in runs scored in the AL. Gee I wonder why that is.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 04:22 PM) PK said in the paper he doesn't like to DH, as he gets fatigued from swinging so much in between innings. Since he's a vastly superior defensive player to Gload, we need to keep him on the field. I call bulls*** on Pauly. Tell him to stop thinking pull every god damn time he swings the bat. If the ball is consistantly thrown low and away you can in fact hit it to right or up the middle. Pulling it to the 3rd baseman is not going to do anything.
  15. Pull and lift. Someone needs to tell Paulie Pull only that right field I repeat is not out. Crappy no nothing pitchers that will get rocked their next start dominate us, because our guys are thinking Dan Ryan. Nice job O. You really have done your job. The best offense in baseball the first half, then poof we fell in love with the dong and we have been inconsistant since.
  16. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 04:10 PM) Anderson gets the PH, but not for Pods....hmmmmm.... Ozzie is in love with his wittle speed guys. He cant take speed out of the lineup, no matter how much of a pile of dung its playing like.
  17. QUOTE(POPPY_HIDALGO @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 04:04 PM) McCarthy looks great. How much longer can Ozzie really wait before moving this guy into the starting rotation. He's would totally be a #1 pitcher on any other team. Isnt it time for your medication. It is 4 oclock.
  18. Well give a round of thanks to the pull monkey team that our offense has become. They have fallen in love with the pull and lift. Hitting line drives or singles with men in scoring position, they have completely given up on that train of thought. Its just blow your load on one swing. That is why garbage pitchers dominate our lineup these days. There is no reason that this pile of dung pitching staff kept us down today.
  19. Actually as much as I am not a huge fan of swinging for the fences, it would be nice to see the mob scene at home plate. it might give them some life back into them as they go to face KC.
  20. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 03:37 PM) Unfortunately so did Gooch, Dye and PK last inning Dont worry the next 3 hitters will be thinking jack. The minute the game gets late and its close, the dong crew attempts to make sportscenter.
  21. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 03:34 PM) Konerko has left 10 men on base in two games. Dont worry, he will change his stance another 10 times in the next 2 weeks. My favorite stance was when Paulie decided to open his stance up. Here is a clue, if you pull just about every single pitch down the line, opening up more is probably not a good idea. He thankfully canned that after nearly killing Joey Cora about 10 times over a 3 game period.
  22. Just hit the ball Paulie. Stop twitching after every pitch, makin sure that hte velcrow is still tight. If you didnt swing how did they get loose.
  23. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 03:00 PM) SSI, Which teams are you calling "good offenses" Cause I see the Yanks, 2 er. Most of the other teams he faced multiple times and some times did good, some times did bad. Apr. 14 TOR L 13-7 6.0 9 7 7 1 1 4 Jul. 5 @TOR W 7-1 8.0 2 1 1 1 2 13 I didnt realize that suggesting a guy who makes over 10 million dollars a year should pitch well was a bad thing.
