  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 09:15 PM) Jenks has thrown a ton of those hooks way up lately. I would like to see his fastball up more, and his curve down a bit more. The only time he ever gets beat on his fastball, is when he has it down
  2. Throw strikes, and Ozzie gets you a steak big boy.
  3. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 09:11 PM) He may be tired as well. He's on a pace to play his highest total of games in his career. Unfortunately the Sox are abysmally short in the back-up C department. The AAA season can't end soon enough. Well hopefully we actually call people up that can help the big club make the playoffs instead of worrying if our AAA team will go deep in theirs.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 09:07 PM) Don't forget that we seem puzzled as to why our starting pitchers are fatigued. Last year El Duque was getting bombed left and right, and Bmac was coming off of 2 hit shutdowns of Boston at Fenway and Texas at Texas, and he decided that El Duque was better served in the rotation. It took our lead going to nothng with a few weeks left, and a few bombs away starts by El Duque before Guillen had to put bmac in again.
  5. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 09:05 PM) like i said, i love having two closers on this team We have 2 closers and a lefty who throws near 100, and a future rotation guy in the pen. However our manager thinks that no matter how many runs you give up, you must pitch into the 7th. He wants his pitchers to win the game, of course some times at the expense of the team itself.
  6. QUOTE(SoxnGiants @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 09:03 PM) KC is on the verge of blowing a 10-1 lead. How is that possible. Their stud pitching staff held our juggernaut offense in check.
  7. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 09:00 PM) Oh I'm sure Lance could find one of Ozzie's relatives to get hitched to. Well considering bmac had a 1.59 ERA down the stretch and was garbage according to the manager, Broadway better be better than Liriano to crack our staff.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 08:49 PM) Do you mean McCararthy? Maybe McCarthy.
  9. Cintron nearly threw it away. Cotts better not be option A out of the pen.
  10. Well Mr. Granderson thank you and merry christmas for pulling an Uribe and swinging at the neck high away meatball.
  11. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 07:47 PM) If Freddy gives up anything in this inning, please yank him. Our manager wouldnt pull Vazquez if he gave up a run in this inning, do you think he is pulling a relative.
  12. The worst player on the cubs just got a hit and stole a base on Freddy Maddux. Strained Left Hammy according to DJ.
  13. Ball takes a high hop and speedy von Dergan cant beat it out to 1st. Does he have lead in his shoes.
  14. Mack gets a hit, I guess that makes up for his defensive foobar. Well in Ozzies eyes only.
  15. I wonder if we are in mack for the righties, anderson for the lefties platoon. Its sad that our backup guys are going to get 300abs this year
  16. We we are hitting home runs, so we score tonight. How long before Freddy gives this back up.
  17. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 06:34 PM) Most of our starters have looked tired or injured at some point during this season. I thought the point of having 6 starters was in case this was the case. I guess I was wrong, but I will tell you one thing, Buerhle and Garcia aren't going to get better. They are either injured or exhausted. OUr manager thinks bmac was terrible last year. He isnt a better option than what we have. So we will go down because our starting pitchers need MRIs, a Psychologist, and some balls.
  18. Thank god Freddy is a big game pitcher. The minute he leaves this team, the better.
  19. So basically our management is full of s*** with this BA is a starter, we dont have a starting CF, we have a platoon.
  20. Why in the name of god are we playing a corner OF in center every other game. This is so dumb its not even funny.

    Lunch

2 Ham and Cheese Sandwiches on Wheat Bread, and an Apple. I wish I had a double wonderburger basket with curly fries.
  22. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 09:31 AM) I'd love to have a tally of how many "sox fans" said that at this time last year. I'm in!!! They are capable, they have the talent, they need to put it together. Rowand44 is probably one of the most optomistic posters on this site. So he probably wouldnt of made your tally last year. I think we will win the wild card. Once in we have as good of a chance as anyone. Its just up to our pitching to perform.
