  1. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 04:24 PM) Hooray Bombs away!!!!
  2. Ozzie in the postgame.... No plans for bmac in the rotation. We wish the current pitchers get better. Nice
  3. Post allstar break stars Konerko .167 BA Pods .235 with a .297 OBP AJ .147BA Cintron is hitting .231 Post allstar we have a 5.61ERA Post allstar break we are batting .245 We are the KC Royals right now.
  4. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 04:11 PM) How about Mark Buehlre? He's TERRIBLE. It may be to a point where, unless he rebounds, we may have to reconsider his option for next year. Is it worth paying Buehrle 10 million if he's producing at his current rate? I'm sure he'll rebound -- it's impossible to remain this bad -- but if he's giving up 5ER every other outing it may be wise to consider another path. It's past the point where this is a slump. He's either been completely figured out or pitching through an injury. Well at least we have Bmac to pitch to a batter or two with men on. We can then mothball him till the royals series.
  5. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 04:08 PM) We can recover when we start producing on both sides. Granted, giving up seven runs is unacceptable, but this 2-3 run sheet is killing us. Or being unable to score but once during a game. Somebody in the game thread talked about how Minny sprays balls all over the field and hits homers when we make pitching mistakes. HELLO. HERE'S MY LESSON: DON'T HATE MINNESOTA. DON'T ENVY THEM. E M U L A T E THEM! IT'S WHAT WE DID LAST SEASON! WE'RE STILL NOT MATHEMATICALLY OUT OF IT YET, SO...until that time, I'd suggest we take a look at them as something which should be emulated, and quick. We did emulate them. I remember a post season KW speech talking about grinders. How we will play baseball the right way. Then our guys did that, and this year our hitters saw the fence so close, and then they said to themselves, well if I just get it up in the air it should go. Sportscenter will have me on, and life will be good.
  6. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 04:05 PM) you can listen to the postgame on www.670thescore.com Hi my name is Chris Rongey. And as I look at today, we are so close to running off a 10 game win streak. have faith whitesox fans. Mark was just unable to make a big pitch, he almost got out of the game unscaithed. Our hitting is almost there. We are still in the wild card lead, and I will drink to that. We have a few months to play great baseball and rattle off 40 in a row.
  7. GRINDER RULE NUMBER 201 CORPSEBALL IS A SUMMER TRADITION
  8. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 02:08 PM) Too bad I had it up way after Santana had better numbers than Buerhle, and way before Contreras got injured. I took it down because Kalapse said I never updated it, which I didn't, so I stopped. But I have never said Buerhle is better than Santana on the hole. Twice I've said that Buerhle has been better than Santana over a certain amount of time and that was the beginning of this year and last year in August, at which both times it was true. And I said to Kalapse at hte beginning of this year, I know they are both better now but Santana will be better over all the end of the year. He always is. But it's cool. Keep making up spiff and taking shots from behind in the dark. Just like a little girl. Anybody can do that spiff. I am just stating a fact, and now you are taking personal shots. You did make the comment, that is not a shot, that is a fact. And now you come up with a witty comment about being a little girl. Maybe you should take a chance and read the guidelines about personal attacks. I know you enjoy taking a jab here and there, but I suggest you abide by the rules of the board.
  9. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:59 PM) Nice passing shot. Not even man enough to call it out. Typical around here of late. Too bad I never said that in the first place. I doubt anybody around here ever said, or thinks, that Mark is or was better than Santana. Actually you did say it. You said you would rather have Buerhle over Santana. And you had their stats in your sig this year, that was until Santana blew past both Contreras and buerhle. Then mysteriously it went dark.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:54 PM) Buehrle's ERA is now 4.63. I wonder if people think he's still better than Johan Santana. There is only one poster that believest that, and I am sure that he thinks that Mark is just unlucky.
  11. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:53 PM) Beutiful 0-2 pitch by Buehrle to Morneau. Do our pitchers go stupid when they get ahead in the count 0-2? Because our pitchers are dumb.
  12. 1-2 with 2 outs and Buerhle throws something down the middle. 3-0 twins Nice pitching ace.
  13. How many times does Gullen go to the mound to talk strategy, and then the next pitch is a dong.
  14. Leadoff triple for their leadoff hitter. I wish our leadoff hitter was still good.
  15. Maybe playing your regular lineup day in and day out might get you a rythm at the plate. But at least we will be fresh for whatever.
  16. 1st and 3rd with no outs. And we dont get a run. Classic Corpseball
  17. 2 hits back to back. And one to the right side, how is this possible.
  18. Now Singelton with the why cant the tigers struggle like the sox. Well DJ Leyland isnt going to rest his starters like we do. So they get a consistant lineup. And Leyland realizes to use his pen a bit, a not let x starting pitcher give up runs like crazy after the 7th. And Leyland reads a scouting chart instead of going with his "gut"
  19. QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:24 PM) Strange that Mack broke back on that one. He's usually right on it. You will see at least 5 balls drop between Mack and Cintron today. Glad we have our best D out there today.
  20. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:20 PM) 11 pitch first inning for Carlos Silva. Welcome to the 2006 edition of the Whitesox Corpseball. We will make any crappy pitcher look like Cy Young.
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:18 PM) Here's the good news...when Silva shuts us out today, it may give the Twins reason to keep Silva in the majors for a little bit longer instead of calling up Matt Garza to give the Twins a 3 headed monster of young pitching for this season. You mean the guy the twins drafted after we selected Broadway. thank god our scouting department got that one right.
  22. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:17 PM) I LOVE giving up outs via the bunt when we're losing. Thank God Cintron is in here. Gooch needs his rest.
  23. Pods is willie mays hays from major league II. No more speed, glorified singles hitter who thinks he has pop.
  24. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:07 PM) Seriously. Someone needs to sit Ozzie down and tell him to stop marching out these retarded lineups. If there is someone on the 25 man roster outside of Gload, he will use them. Last year he couldnt find enough places to get Timo into the lineup. Need to give Kong a rest at 1st, 5'8 Timo can play there, need a DH Timo can play there, need a LF or RF Timo is your guy. Now Timo couldnt hit, wasnt very good but during our slump last year he was running out there day in and day out. Now Ozzie has more toys to play with. The regular lineup is not the norm, these carnival lineups are more of the regulars lineups.
