  1. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 12:53 PM) OK so, I'm typically a defender of the Ozzie patented Sunday Lineup ™. I think his resting of players and playing the bench is a key to the team's success. But here we have just plain poor decision-making. Anderson is red-hot and 3/5 vs Silva, and Gooch is 3/5. I mean, come on. Rest our guys and get the bench some time, but do it the smart way!!! Not this default lefty-righty crap. We are trying to hang on to the wild card, and save a possible sweep at home. And he dicks around. I hated Manuel and his sunday lineups, but he only did it once a week. Gooch and Anderson have to be the most subbed out on our team. Followed by Pods. Anderson can get hits off of Randy Johnson and Mike Mussina, but he needs to rest against the mighty carlos silva.
  2. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 12:47 PM) Uribe is 12/23 in his career with 3 home runs against Silva. How about this lineup Pods Gooch Thome Konerko Dye AJ Crede Uribe Anderson This is the one we should be using against our rivals.
  3. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 12:43 PM) But we'll have the freshest lineup when we are 12 games back in late August. I am going with a big inning started by a ball that drops between Mackowiak and Cintron, just like it has the last few times they have both been on the field. Ozzie should just admit it, we dont have a starting CF, we have a fishing platoon. Anderson is 23, how much rest does he need.
  4. I am glad that Ozzie is consistant and keeps not playing regulars against the WC competition. We need a win today, so lets bench Anderson who hits Silva well, and lets bench Gooch who is hitting well. Bench worthless Pods and put Mackowiak in if you are so bent on using him. And Cintron can rest Uribe who cant hit. These lineups were stupid in April, and they are even more stupid now in late July.
  5. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 11:51 AM) Guys you got it all wrong. This is typical Kenny flying under the radar. We're not getting Zito or Soriano. We're not getting another reliever either. There is only one man that I see us getting. The Man, The Myth, The Legend... ^^Coming soon to a Sox game near you. We dont need another reliever. Our bullpen looks real solid now. The only way you get another bullpen arm is if for the love of god you are putting bmac into the rotaiton and sending one of the pitchers away. However that isnt likely considering one of them is a golfing buddy and the other is related. A left fielder who can hit better that our glorified singles hitter out in LF would be nice.
  6. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 10:38 AM) I'll trade a few bombs for a well balanced, smart ball offensive attack that produces the 7 runs you're predicting. Its the annual whitesox corpseball offense power show. The weather gets hot, our hitters take a look at the short porch and try and park every pitch. Then after 7 innings we look back at 4 hits, a ton of popups, maybe some warning track shots, and we lose. I will give anything for some line drive cuts, some nice gappers. But alas we are now into year 5 of watching us take the pipe in the second half. The only thing that was going for us is we had a 15 game lead. We just blew a 7 game lead in the WC in 2 weeks.
  7. People are missing the KW boat here. Every single trade deadline, we are literally linked to every single possible person. A few days before the deadline, x trade is about to go down. And its never the person we think. Hopefully we get something. Because we need it.
  8. How about a new rule for our manager. When you have a pitcher in a tie game after the start of the 7th inning. If he allows a batter, or more to the point 2 batters to get on, used one of the 3 guys who throw near a 100 to come in and get the out. I am sick and tired of seeing a pitcher give up a big late rally because he is a bit tired. Maybe we can get a managing pitching for dummies book for Guillen. I so wish we had a vet bench coach like Nosek on the pine sitting behind him, being a sounding board. How many times does Guillen have to let a pitcher get lit up late to learn this routine. If the pitcher gets in trouble, use one of the 3 100 mph arms out of your pen. Just a thought.
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:01 AM) HEY! The replay of today's game is just starting on CSN! At least after the replay you dont have to listen to the PFB doing his "everything is smiles and puppy farts" routine. Konerko has 4 hits in the last week, all of them dongs. I wonder what he is trying to do.
  10. Over the last 7 days. The Annual August slumber for our bats started a tad early. How the fish does an entire team go bad on their bats. Dye is hitting pretty good over the last week. So we rest him on Monday. Thome is batting .120 Welcome to Whitesox late summer slump baseball AJ is batting .125 His new pull only mode is pretty cool. Pods is batting .167 What again does he do. Konerko is at .190 Pretty much hits hits a home run or he gets an out. Crede is hitting .240 He is popping everything up. Iguchi is hitting .260
  11. 39k people are paying to see the whitesox day in and day out perform. They have our support. However unlike a cub fan, I am not just going to smile, get drunk and pretend that if I wish hard enough they will get better. This team will get better when our team starts hitting line drives instead of trying to hit homers, when our pitching staff realizes the best pitch to throw on 0-2 is not something center cut, and our manager learns when to pull a starting pitcher, and when our 3rd base coach learns to send fast guys and be careful with slow guys.
  12. QUOTE(bulokis @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 09:55 PM) We are back to bowing down to the Twins again except last year. No matter what their budget is, they really have good players. We need to go back to basic that help us won it all last year. We need to get players that play good defense and play small ball. Its same thing every year. We pound the living crap out of everyone flexing our home run or nothing muscles. Then after the allstar break....poof...swings get long, balls are popped up, or rolled over to the left side. Its the same thing every year since 2001. This team spiff the bed for an entire month in August last year ruining a 15 game lead. I think we are half way to that goal. Except our lead is now down to 1. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 09:57 PM) Silva has looked like crap lately. Maybe we'll get our weekly win tomorrow. Koronka and Wasdin are crap. We should of pounded them also. Our softball corpseball approach is killiing this team. Pull, and lift.
  13. Ozzies quotes every night after the game. X pitcher threw a ball real well tonight. He had a great game. X pitcher threw a couple of bad pitches(which were deposited over the fence with men on). He pitched great except for the one inning.
  14. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 09:50 PM) What was the bad call in the 6th that hurt us? Can't see game and gameday won't explain anything like that. 0-2 forkball to Bartlett.
  15. Tomorrow we should be out of the wild card by tomorrow. 46% of our runs are via the dong. I think that approach works great, different players same result. Great job.
  16. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 09:47 PM) Why wasnt Mack hitting anyway? Would have much rather had him at the plate than Alex. Cintron = 2006 version of Timo. He is everywhere.
  17. Well another game we deserve to lose because we make stupid fishing pitches on 0-2. Maybe coop can get someone to tell the rest of the staff. Down the cock on 0-2 is bad. Hanging a breaking pitch over the middle on 0-2 is bad. Throwing batting practice fastballs on 0-2 bad.
  18. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 09:19 PM) Might as well accept we used up all of our breaks last year. Even when we were playing and hitting well we weren't getting many breaks. Oh well, it was worth it. We could keep talking about breaks, or our pitchers could stop throwing very very crushable 0-2 pitches. I think it our pitchers start to think a bit more, and execute on 0-2 instead of giving up dongs, the game might have a different spin. But they were sure lucky to get an 0-2 hanging forkball gift.
  19. So pods can outrun a hit into the hole. Thank god we have him for his blinding speed.
  20. Considering we have 3 guys who can get near triple digits at the end of the game, it would be nice to have a lead going into the end of a game. We know can protect it. Offense, please wake up.
  21. QUOTE(Jake @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 09:08 PM) I hate how we condone people harassing others here. You know what WSI does to trolls. No one cares about that site.
  22. Let see if BA can get some magic going here. Run into one.
  23. Does the crowd get to keep punto or do they have to let him go.
  24. Holy spiff Crede hit a line drive homer. Didnt see that coming.
  25. Every year we have different players, and yet every year our O goes into hibernation after the allstar break.
