Nice throw pods. I think your wife has a better arm. Soriano please.

We are looking at our 4th consecutive series loss after Santana works us over tomorrow. Now bmac comes out there. Ozzie is on drugs. bmac should of been there in the 6th.

QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 09:36 PM) "Vazquez can build on this start after looking great for the first 5 innings..." I think they looked great, and just came up a bit short today. Just tip your cap to a shutdown pitching staff, we have run into a lot of those lately. But I dont believe this will last too long, or at least I hope it wont. Well lets go to our Dodge drive of the game, it goes to Joe Mauer who hit a cookie over the center field stands. Ozzie has announced that Dye, Konkero and Thome wont be in the lineup tomorrow. Good for him, we need them rested so we can battle the royals soon.

Its funny that any pitcher who can spot a fastball away, and has a change or curve will absolutely shut this team down. I am surprised that any team throws a fastball in on us. All fastballs in must be mistake pitches. You can 4 hit this team with the greatest of ease. Now make sure your SS and 3rd baseman are ready for all of the nice 2 hop ground balls. And also make sure your 2nd baseman is ready for all of the sky high popups.

Maybe about August 15th or so our offense will awaken from their annual mid summer slumber. We will be 8 games out of the wildcard by then.
-
The percentage of outs that have been pulled or popped up tonight. 90%

Pauly is kind of clueless watching a fastball coming down the middle. This loss is on our 5th starter Cupcake and our manager who doesnt realize that cupcake is done by the 6th.
-
Ozzie is doing his best Tony Pena impersonation. Bullpen and pitching managing by the magic 8 ball. Should I take Javier out...... probably not. Well the 8 balls says no, so Javy stays in. Smash of the bat, home run. Lets shake it again, should I take him out now.. Outlook cloudy No, lets see if he can pitch out of it, 4 runs later. Maybe its time to get Cotts up.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 09:19 PM) So adding Soriano will spark Vazquez to stop spiffting his pants in the 6th inning? Will it spark Mark Buehrle to stop pitching like Sidney Ponson? Will it spark Freddy Garcia (although he pitched very well his last start) to start throwing hard and atleast attempting to hold base runners? Who would've thought that Jon Garland would be the one guy we can count on as far as the rotation goes at the moment. How about common sense will finally reach our manager. Doesnt his stat people, scouts and coaches let him know. Hey ozzie get the pen ready, its the 6th inning. And Vaz is starting to convuse on the mound.
-
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) I know this. I was just pointing out that it's not like we could trade Javy and insert Brandon into the rotation in a couple days. We piggy back him with someone else. He gets 4 innings, then some other reliever gets 2 and then to the back of the pen. Then his next start he goes 5, then 6 and then he is worth more than vazquez.

QUOTE(rudylaw @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 09:14 PM) I know Dye deserves a day off but do we need to give our best players days off vs division rivals in big games. You do not see Detroit or Minnesota resting there guys vs us do you? Dont worry we will be at full strenght for the mighty Royals.
-
Well everyone including the media has been harping on the fact that the 3rd time through the lineup, Vazquez gets rocked. With that knowledge in hand, he continues to march him out over and over and over after the 6th inning. And the same broken record of disaster happens. Its a pattern. To everyone but to Ozzie. Maybe he needs some tums to get his gut back on the right track, because common sense is killing him. We were on a way to a win, and then poof Vazimplosion.
-
Pods looks at another 3rd strike. Wish it was soriano up there, instead of Mr. Dergan.
-
DJ is now saying we are just swinging for the fences. Maybe he can write it on a piece of paper and send it down to our coaching staff. That and when the clock strikes 6 innings, have your bullpen ready to go.

QUOTE(atrain081 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 09:07 PM) Javy's line: 6.0 IP, 8 H, 5 ER looks familiar 7 1/2 out after tonight. And this is why we need Soriano. And this is why we need to get rid of this goof, and get bmac in the rotation. He can give up 5 runs, and wont cost us an arm and a leg.
-
Mabye if the team would try and hit singles and doubles when they see a soft tosser instead of getitng goofy and thinking they can jack homers on every single pitch we wouldnt see the popup patrol coming through. But after the allstar break year in and year out they get homer foolish and our offense goes into the spiffter.
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 09:03 PM) And it is over. Wow Danny Wright Vazquez imploded, and Cotts decided to do his best Thriller impersonation.
-
Thanks Cotts, thanks Vazquez. Stupid.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 08:58 PM) I understand EVERTHING is on Oz here, but with 85 pitchers from Javy to start the 7th, and the stuff he has had all game, I really dont think it was that bold of a move to keep Javy out there. Javy made good pitches on the HR balls, Twins put some great swings on the ball, simple as that. Something needs to be done about Javy and his late inning falters, but leaving him out in the 7th after watching him all game isnt a bad call IMO. But Tony, When you see the same horror movie over and over, when you hear the music you know what is going to happen. Vaz +6 = toast. Unfortunately this is his MO. He looks like Cy Young, and then when the clock strikes 6 he turns into Felix Diaz.
-
WTF is Ozzie unprepared for the usual 6th inning + Vaz implosion. Last inning he allowed 3 runs before you could blink and now he has put us in a hurting. Everyone has figured this out, but our stubborn manager who believes that no matter what your record after 6 is, you have to go 100 pitches.
-
QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 05:25 PM) I think pods has great value for this white sox team... as a pinch runner If we get Soriano, there is no reason for Pods. We have Ozuna. He can pinch run.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 05:13 PM) KW was just on XM Radio with Kevin Kennedy and Rob Dibble. Said he got to the park early tonight to talk with a few players in the clubhouse. One of those guys was Brandon McCarthy who KW personally told he wasn't going anywhere. He also said that he doesn't plan on trading any pitchers currently on the MLB roster. But he did go out of his way to say that he got to the park early today to let certain guys know that they weren't going anywhere. I bet you he skipped Pods locker when he was giving that news.

QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 05:03 PM) The Tigers are going to have to give up Humberto...I forgot his last name...and/or Zumaya...maybe even one of their other young pitchers like Verlander or Robertson...so what if KW has shown his hand...now the Tigers KNOW what it is going to take and they may not be willing to take that step. The White Sox and KW just did what the Yankees did for years...drive up the price, the only difference is: The White Sox weren't dumb enough to actually follow through and pay for it (at least I hope not *fingers crossed*). Soriano would fit in well, and would provide an answer to a need. We need to have someone who can absoultey pound lefties. That currently is our one weakness on our O.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 04:48 PM) Washington has a hell of a block for Fields at third too, unless Zimmerman has fallen off and I didn't know it. Fields is a sexy pick for bowden. Former QB, kind of toolsy. It Gives them a right handed power bat for a long time. We cant possibly be the only ones who can move Fields from 3rd base to the OF.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 04:42 PM) It did make me feel a whole lot better. I dont care if they give up Broadway. Hell I was one of the guys who hated us drafting him in the first place. If he can be part of a package that gets us Soriano, then he has done more than I ever thought he would for the sox.
