  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 07:45 PM) Would Anderson have gotten to that? Yes
  2. And f***ing Macks poor s***ty CF defense burns us again.
  3. Get him the f*** off the mound. Here comes the detonation.
  4. He has hung 2 cureballs to Irod. Yet I bet he would throw another one to him. Dumb.
  5. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 05:56 PM) I work for a church and would like to do something to our new computers. Basically, when we get a new computer I install Windows XP Pro and a whole bunch of other programs. What I would like to do is create a Hard Drive with 3 partitions. One for the OS, one for data (my documents, ect...), and one for a back up of the OS. Basically, the third would be an exact "perfect" image that I could roll back to if we encounter any problems. DO you guys happen to know of any free software that would do this? I should note: i knwo how to partition it. I just dont know of any software to create a disk image I can revert to. You are better off purchasing a hard drive and then a USB enclosure and using that to backup your hard drive. More times than not if your hard drive fails all of your partitions will be unaccessable. Its better to get it off to another media anyway. You can pickup a USB enclosure from 19 dollars to 40 depending on the model and make. In Chicago check out Microcenter or Fry's for it. To make a perfect image you want to use a bitstream imager such as Symantecs Ghost or you can use something like DD. If you just want to backup your fields you can use the built in backup software with Microsoft as it was written by Veritas in the first place.
  6. Hawk with a premature Stretch, and get on back there.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 07:29 PM) I'll take Mackowiak's defense in LF over Pods in LF or Mackowiak in CF. Mackowiak is not a CF. As a corner OF though his defensive is pretty good. Mack just doesnt have the range for CF. Not his fault. I would like to see Anderson in CF, and Mack move over to LF.
  8. I should s*** on more of our players. I am like the reverse mojo. I just crapped on Uribe and he goes deep.
  9. In about one more inning I would like to see Mack sitting on the bench and our good defensive CF in the game. It scares me in a 1-0 game having a corner OF in center. Especially this large CF.
  10. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 07:18 PM) Hawk believes in the rally crede. That and the fact that Crede owns Bonderman for his career. Outside of this at bat.
  11. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 07:14 PM) Javy is working faster?? That 2-2 pitch was hung...stop that. His curve this year has been his biggest problem. He isnt getting on top of the pitch and he leaves it hanging. At least he is throwing more sliders on 2 strikes, than his curve. When he is ontop of it, it bites down and is a good K pitch. When he leaves it up, it gets hit hard.
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 07:12 PM) Crazy swing there and almost nailed it. Almost Uribesque.
  13. Maybe that the adjustment that Coop and company thought would make Vazquez have a good second half, use the slider more and more with RHs on 2 strikes. It is such a nasty pitch. The Operaman hotdog vendor is so stupid.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 06:57 PM) Another week of slumping, and this place will turn into tejadatalk.com. I have given up on Uribe. Great defense, I just dont think he has the mental accumen nor the drive to be a good consistant hitter at the major league level. Its so sad, the kid has enough talent to hit .280 or above with power and could be a superstar. But he cant control himself.
  15. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 06:54 PM) Javy's using his slider now with 2 strikes. He has to do that, just ditch the curve with 2 strikes, cause he always hangs it. I have been saying that for weeks. Hopefully he can keep his mental state in check with a hit batsman and a single here.
  16. Its nice to see Uribe is back to his old tricks. He has one good month, then some more crap. Uribe is batting .190 this month. That plus his .167 April, and his .237 May, make his one good month June so great. June was nice because he adopted the spread stance. Like the foot tap before he kept his front closed. Well thats gone again.
  17. QUOTE(supernuke @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 04:47 PM) This would be a nice bullpen addition. Sounds like Thornton. Great fastball, slider no control. How many lefties does a team need. But then again, INSERT X Player Coop can fix him.
  18. There is a Ruby Tuesdays at Butterfield and Finley in Downers Grove. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 02:53 PM) I have actually has dicussions about opening up a sonic in chicago. Stay tuned. If you do, let us know. I have been dying for a Double Sonic Burger with Cheese.
  19. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 12:20 PM) Thome's taking Bonderman deep tonight. So is Kong and Dye. Hopefully Ozzie resists the need to put Mack in center. We need Brian out in centerfield.
  20. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 01:21 PM) You really want them to do this deal? It would make the Tigers' lineup much better. That is nothing to give up for Abreu. Abreu is behind only Mauer, Hafner, and Pujols in OBP. Those guys also have better than .310 batting averages. Abreu has 61 RBI which is not too shabby either. Abreu is a very good player in the prime of his career. You are drastically underestimating him. Abreu has a nice OBP because he has walked 87 times this year. He has Pat Burrell as protection, so what would you rather do. Face Abreu or face Pat Burrell. Abreu is great player, but look at the seaosn of the guy he would be replacing. Thames has an 1.009 OPS with 19 dongs and plays half his games in a very large park. Abreu makes a lot of money, and would kill them making other deals. Abreu also hits lefty pitching well, and righties not as well. So it counters why you would pick him up, to be protection for righty pitchers. I would be worried more if they were picking up Ibanez.
  21. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 11:56 AM) Tigers ain't getting Abreu. Jim Leyland said theres a better chance of a fan coaching the team for a week. If this is the deal they have to make to get Abreu then let them do it. Look at Thames numbers nad how Miner has pitched. They would be giving up a guy hitting .300 with 19 homers for a guy hitting .283 with half as many homers. Proposed trade: Thames and Miner for Abreu
  22. I wish they had a sonic nearby. I make sure to find one when I visit somewhere for work that has sonics in the area.
  23. Jons comments in the paper about from the get go this year, he wasnt confident in his pitches brought more fuel to the fire. Jon is a contact pitcher, which of course means he providings little worth for most SABR guys. He has a poor K rate. He will always have a poor K rate. For Jon to be successful its a simple formula for him. Throw first pitch strikes, keep the ball down, and let the sinker run. Pitching inside to righties, and using that Changeup in strikeout situations and keeping it low make him succesful. When Garland is 2-0 3-1 on every hitter he will get rocked. He cant pitch behind. This is what I expected from Jon this year. Keep the ball down, get ahead and be aggressive. If he loses so be it. But when he nibbles around the plate, walks guys until he cant anymore and then throws a 4 seam fastball over the plate on a 2-0 count that winds up over the fence, he gets a lot of people upset with him. Hopefully this Jon keeps pitching aggressive like this.
  24. My son woke up last night at about 2am and wouldnt go to sleep. So we of course did the weak thing and brought him into bed with us last night. So we could get some sleep. He woke up then about 6am, and my wife went to work. For whatever reason, based on not really sleeping, I thought it was saturday. And proceeded to go on my saturday routine with my son. Making him a pancake breakfast, etc. That was until my mother in law came in the front door. I asked her what are you doing here. Then I realized, oh s*** got to get ready for work. My dad is right, kids make you crazy. Now how the hell did I mess up Wednesday and substitute Saturday with it. Selective memory I guess. At least I wasnt late for work.
