  1. Pitches-strikes: Schilling 25-18, Contreras 66-42. It might be nice for our hitters to work the count a bit, and put the ball in play some. Or Schilling will go deep into this game, while our bullpen will be facing the red cubs.
  2. 65 pitches for the Count. His day will be over before the 5th on this pace.
  3. Contreras needs to get a bit more economical on his pitches. He is almost at 60 pitches already.
  4. If this ump wants to have some fun, he should get s***faced, then review the video of his strikezone. First inning no low pitches are strikes. Then after Bloody Sock throws some low pitches, then it starts to get called.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) Yep....how dare he try to prove he belongs. I hate Schilling with a passion, but if he goes out there today and shoves it up his ass, I'll admire his intensity. f*** him. All that we need to do is to square up the meatball he keeps throwing over the middle of the plate. His split is for s*** right now. We for whatever reason are trying to hit every ball to mars. Just get a good quick cut on the ball.
  6. AJ hits it into right field. Lets see if Joe Crede can hit something here.
  7. Paulie late on fastballs down the cock, then pulls it to the 3rd baseman. Then Dye hits the first pitch to Trot. Sleepwalking already.
  8. QUOTE(peanut33tillman @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 01:34 PM) Bloody hell I dont know the percentages of how often we throw base runners but s*** if I scout this White Sox ballclub anybody with decent legs outta be swiping second all day....s*** IT DOESNT SEEM LIKE WE THROW OUT ANYBODY!! Yesterday Mirabelli stole off of Freddy and his required long stride to achieve 86mph.
  9. I dont mind when a hard thrower like Jose is a bit long to the plate, I have no f***ing clue why 86 mph Freddy Garcia needs a long stride.
  10. I think the umps overall need a clue on what the rulebook says about the strikezone.
  11. Nice f***ing start. I guess the team is ready to get going for the break a bit early this year.
  12. On a 0-2 or 1-2 count, dont throw a fastball down the middle. If you are going to throw a fastball, put it either up and in, or up and away.
  13. 1-2 on Ortiz and we throw a pitch down the middle. How f***ing stupid are our collective pitchers and catchers on 0-2 and 1-2 counts. How many times are we burned on throwing meatballs over the f***ing middle.
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 12:25 PM) I'd also like to ask about this. We throw a rookie pitcher into the middle of a pennant race last year when our lead was sinking fast, Brandon absolutely dominates, and he's shown you nothing?? This I don't understand. Brandons mechanics are in flux this year, probably due to the new job role and just to the usual inconsistancies from year to year. When bmac was pitching last year. His fastball was located very well, his curve was thrown for strikes and his changeup was throwing low. This year his fastball is riding high, he is more over the top this year and you have a propensity of leaving that pitch up if you dont following through on an over the top delivery. He is having hard times throwing his curve and his change for strikes. If bmac can get his control back, and to keep his ball down he will be fine.
  15. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 11:56 AM) If we beat schilling today, i'll be content going in to the break I wont be content until our pitchers start to put together quality effort. And when Garcia decides to get an MRI or starts to throw hard again.
  16. After watching the tivo of yesterdays game that I was at. I am more disgusted. Lets beat the yapping bloody sock boy.
  17. If last years performance and greatness automatically translates into next year, then why didnt the BoSox tear threw us. They did win in 2004. Curt Schilling and his bloody sock was a good pitcher, then for some reason he had a hard time breaking 90 and was transformed into a reliever. Resting your hat on 2005 is going to get you squat in 2006. Our pitchers need to execute, and Freddy needs his arm examined or a few weeks rest ala El Duque.
  18. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 08:18 PM) Talk to the Angels and Astros about Buehrle and Garcia about "not dominating" in the playoffs. People were saying the same s*** in August last year, and lamenting about how we needed another big bat to go anywhere. Oops. Quit giving up before the battle's even close to over. Freddy last year threw 91-94 during his starts. Apples to Oranges. This years Freddy is a different pitcher. To just say, well because he did well before he will do well again doesnt transfer. Because last year Freddy would pitch bad against bad teams, and then would pitch like an ACE against good teams. His velocity last year was never in the mid to upper 80s'.
  19. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 08:08 PM) Fans on SoSH are half classy and half jackasses. I used to be a Red Sox fan until last year when I went to the Cell to see the Sox vs Sox series. I heard about that goddamn "bloody sock" 50 times in half an inning, Red Sox fans would say bulls*** to every strike called against them and any ball given to us. Lots of them were jackasses who admit they didn't even watch the game of baseball. They just knew who Manny and Ortiz were. That's it. I kept asking every Red Cub fan today, so what part of NE do you or your family come from. The answer is, I dont come from NE or my family isnt from NE but I am a really die hard fan from Elgin.
  20. QUOTE(ViperPilot @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 07:12 PM) Thanks.....All I'm doing is throwing a little trash towards Guillen in good fun here, guys....I can't really believe I'd get banned for saying "Guillen's ugly mug"......are we not allowed to have fun and talk a little trash...it's not like I was swearing or ranting or threatening anyone...... I put the over/under on by the time home run derby starts.
  21. QUOTE(greg775 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 06:07 PM) I would leave the starting pitching as is. On paper it's a World Series winning staff. It has to be allowed to play out. If it fails then too bad. That's baseball. We still could use some relief help obviously. There's no way the starting pitching staff should be changed unless injury forces one of the regular starters to be shut down. On paper it's a great staff. I think one of the members of our starting staff is already injuried. Or does someone have a magical reason that Freddy lost so many miles per hour on his fastball. I lost some mph when I ended my baseball career in junior year of college. Felt a slight twinge, and then couldnt throw hard anymore. My MRI revealed horror in my elbow and shoulder.
  22. QUOTE(ViperPilot @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 04:44 PM) Here's the good part......could be up 3 by the time we wake up in the morning.......Tomorrow the CWS go up against Shilling who will be pumped to shove the ASG snub in Guillen's ugly mug.....we could be 4 games up going into the break....when we come back, we have 4 games at home vs the Royals and the CWS have 4 against the NYY in NY......it could be a pretty good lead by the time they get to Detroit.......with the way the White Sox are pitching, I think they could be in some trouble...... I put a bet that you wont make it past the allstar break if you keep up the banner posting.
  23. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:19 AM) I'm just wondering if anyone can answer this question honestly for me, what exactly does Scott Podsednik do that is above average? From what I can tell he doesn't have a single tool that can be considered excellent. Last year he got on base and caused havoc. This year he seems to be trying to hit the ball in the air. When he gets on first he either gets picked off, or does nothing. And it seems this year, he has forgotten how to catch fly balls. Not difficult fly balls, no run of the mill he gets under it fly balls. Hopefully they start playing Mr. Fields in LF for the rest of the year, and we can go with a Fields/someone else platoon instead of the great he is fast, cant get on base, cant steal routine we have now.
  24. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:17 AM) She's gotta be taking a lot of energy out of him prior to game time. I am amazed that he can tap that and still have energy to walk.
