  1. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 11:11 PM) I can see Ozzie quiting over this. If that happens Kenny Williams will not make it to next week alive. Ozzie is bigger than Kenny will ever be. I wish we had a new gm. Maybe If Ozzie quits and Gio turns out to be a complete stud, I will get my f***ing wish. First thing Ozzie isnt quitting over this. Second thing, who the f*** cares about Gio. For every Gio that we are missing out on because we got that Jim Thome character, we get a diamond in the rough like Jenks or Thornton. You know the players your new GM would of passed over. Jenks is worth more to our WS goals this year than Gio will be. You realize that Gio is a prospect, and shockingly may or may not even make it.
  2. Wheeler reminds me of Bobby Howry. Same high set. Bobby has a much better slider.
  3. Its scary how many of these fly balls are hit to mack out in center.
  4. Why did we pinch run Ozuna there. Thome could of kept glued to the base.
  5. I hope you got a sweet view of the fastball strike 3 Paulie. f***ing pathetic
  6. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 02:43 PM) Remember the last time Qualls pitched against us at US Cellular? I was there. LOL SLAMO
  7. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) Nobody was saying that last year. Why is it Widger's when Garland struggles? There is a difference in the majority of Buerhle's starts when Widger is behind the dish also. Baseball info solutions did some analysis on it, and it was a huge difference in Buerhle starts with AJ and Buerhle starts with Widger.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 02:32 PM) I can't watch this game, but I'll just add this: Garland needs AJP catching him, plain and simple. There is a difference with all of our pitcher when AJ starts behind the plate, or when widger does. There is a huge difference in the pitch calling. Our pitchers nibble like hamsters when Widger is behind the dish.
  9. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 02:29 PM) I thought Jon was turning the corner after his last start.....he still wasn't pitching inside as much as I would have liked but he was staying in the zone. When you're a Houston batter and you know he's not going to throw first pitch strike and he's going to nibble the corners the ENTIRE at bat, he's Danny Wright. Jon is Danny Wright with mask, and large amounts of money bags around his home. Jon lost his nuts sometime after last years world series.
  10. Why are so many of our hitters chasing high fastball out of the zone today. I mean neck high fastballs out of the zone. Its like Earlton is pitching and we are trying to go deep.
  11. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 02:18 PM) I, for one, won't settle for that. Jon was indeed very dissapointing today. His command and control were horrible. But, in his defense, it's not like they were hitting rockets all over the place. You realize that the Astros are a bad hitting team.
  12. What is Brandon McCarthy's role on this team. He doesnt pitch in close games, he doesnt pitch in games like this because we keep throwing Garland out there to give up more runs. This pitcher-catcher combo is having problems coming up with a plan. We have Morgan Ensberg who cant hit an outside pitch, and we are going in on 0-2. Some of this is pitch calling, some of this is Garland throwing a sinker that starts at the knees and goes into the dirt for pitch one and pitch 2. Now we have hitters who are 3-1 and we need baserunners and they are chasing pitches at the neck. We have a problem winning that 9th game.
  13. You have to love Brantley from Baseball tonight. He is using the gun on the telecast to say that Contreras is a soft tosser. He kept on saying, look all he throws is 85, 86 smooth slow delivery, nothing on his fastball. Hey Mullet boy, the gun on the broadcast is for crap.
  14. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 01:57 AM) The White Sox were the most talented team in the game last year, alot of the times the most talented team wins. Perhaps, it's harder to figure out why his job is so secure. Well thank god you have Classy Tito to help you get to the playoffs, only to get destroyed by the evil whitesox and their classless manager again.
  15. Using state of the art technology, we at soxtalk have captured the image that was relayed from the center field camera.
  16. I was at the first game of this series, and there was this annoying old man with a whitesox hat screaming strikeout king everytime Thome got up. I asked him, are you for real. How does anyone that is a fan of this team, hate Thome. I thought of that moment tonight when Thome won the game with one swing. Best game of the year for Garcia. He got the memo, the Cards are good. Pujols in the lineup probably helped Garcia focus. What can you say about Jenks. He is now hitting 100, with his sick curve. And Dye had the catch of the game. Sweepage.
  17. The good news from this. He gets warmed up against Freddy Longball tonight. Pujols is going to rock the Tigers this weekend. All that Freddy needs to remember. IBB, IBB, IBB, IBB
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 04:09 PM) Shuster is reporting that Pujols is in the lineup today. IBB, IBB, IBB Done
  19. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 04:02 PM) Im sick of this Chris Duncan bulls***. Daddy needs to realize that baby is in the big leagues. Poor Duncan, his boy got plunked in the tush. Next time tell the fat Arubian to get better control.
  20. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 03:39 PM) 2nd goal for the chubby Ronaldo. 4-1 Brazil I hope the US is watching this, and not lining up some MLS retread for Arenas spot. Find one of the coaches on the bench with Brazil and hire them.
  21. Rondaldinho with a sweeeeet feed to on the run. 3-1 Brazil. Hey Bruce Arena, notice that the brazilians dont f***ing lob the ball up a bunch of times with long passes. They use their speed, and feed on the ground. Very very hard to defend, also a lot easier to keep onside. Please US hire the assistant Brazilian coach.
  22. QUOTE(Contreras @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 03:03 PM) From the fan email thread: Can't invoke the patriot act over a newspaper columnist being accused of being a vagina. I never threatened him, so the Sun-Times and the police can't do a damned thing...Not with my IP address, my real address, my phone number, my sat phone number, my fingerprints, my DNA, or even a lock of my flowing mullet. However if you did this from work, they could send the headers of that email(X Originating field) to the [email protected] account and you might have some issues. I just had something like this happen, where someone sent a supposed anonymous email to a paper. They sent it to us, and we forwarded it on to HR. If you did it from your personal account and didnt threaten, then nothing is going to happen.
