  1. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) There were really no other options, unless you want Thornton to come in and face all of those righties. Him or Bobby and we don't want BObby going 2 if we can help it. THere weren't many options open to him. Cliff is missing location, and getting rocked when he leaves pitches over the plate. Just saying there are no options and letting him get rocked night after night is not the answer. I am sure KW is working on something. Loyality aside this team is built to win this year.
  2. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 09:10 PM) Really, how many more times does Ozzie need to put Politte in the game to get it through his head he shouldn't be pitching unless the game is out of hand one way or the other? How long was Boone Logan on this team.
  3. Pitch selection question here. We keep throwing breaking crap on 2 strikes after the hitter cannot catch up to heat. You can use the breaking pitch as a show me, but then go up and away with gas. We just helped him out by throwing a slider in that situation. WTF is Mack in center at this point in the game. We have the lead, we need defense.
  4. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 11:00 PM) Anyone like to see Montero get another shot? How about real major leaguers who know how to throw strikes, not walk people, nor s*** the bed. Nice f***ing pen for the reigning world series champs. This is our achiles heel. This is our 5th starter crap. The bullpen comes out, it might as well be Felix Diaz or Arnie Munoz running to the mound. Same f***ing thing.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 10:39 PM) The funny thing is that everyone's going to blame Mackowiak's defense for the loss tonight, but the turning point of the game was Pods running like my grandmother on Young's double, and letting GM Jr. score. Of course, Ozzie was begging for GM Jr. to be stealing on that pitch as soon as he brought in Nelson. I would add in: lack of ability to foul off tough 0-2 pitches. We've been striking out looking at an absolutely alarming rate. Kinsler battled his ass off in the 9th inning, and ended up winning the game. Our hitters dont swing at the low and away pitch because its not the nice center cut fastball down the middle they can pull for a homer. Oddly when we sit outside all night long with our pitchers, the opposing teams catch on and drive the ball into right. See the Buerhle inning the other night for that approach.
  6. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 05:59 PM) I think the ACLU is good because they take positions that a normal lawyer or law firm could not take. Yes they take extreme positions, but there are plenty of people out there trying to strip our constitutional freedom every day. One group dedicated to trying to expand constitutional protection's is not really going to hurt. Yes that is what they are doing in this case. Working for the person who wants to f*** children, their freedom to f*** children has been deprived by our moralistic society. Thank God the ACLU is here to keep their dream alive. Making sure their constitutional protections are there, so one day in a perfect world they will have the ability to make their dreams come true. The ACLU is worthless pile of dogs***. The devil wouldnt even represent this filth in their attempts to f*** kids. Yet they jump up there with smiling faces and bravado.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 10:32 PM) Yep...we need a brand new center fielder. I will take a brand new bullpen over a brand new CF.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 10:28 PM) SWING THE f***ING BAT! Another right hander goes down away.
  9. Another pitcher hitting the outside corner against one of our righties.
  10. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 10:24 PM) I should be happy Detriot lost, but it just makes me more angry that we s*** down our legs AGAIN, and could have gotten a game back from them... We should be taking advantage of the team we are trailing playing s***ty ball. Yet we are playing worse ball.
  11. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) Wait. That ball was crushed off the wall. I wish I was watchin it on the TV. or the tivo. Anderson catches that ball. Mack almost got to the ball, and Anderson is 10 times the fielder that Mack is.
  12. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 10:20 PM) Because Mack almost hit a HR and BA can't hit it out of the infield. Well Mack is about as good as Everett in Center. Maybe we can get him back also, because he can hit, but cant catch either.
  13. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 10:18 PM) Eh. It was a solid fastball. Good piece of hitting. You can't walk folks. It should of been a caught ball. But Mack decided to circle it. So we took out defense in a key position, and it f***ed us.
  14. Ron Mahay may come into the game. I played against him when he played at Shepard and when he was at South Suburban. He got drafted by the Red Sox because he had such an amazing bat. He was f***ing unreal hitting. His pitching kind of sucked in high school and especially in college. Everyone thought he was going to make it to the majors on his sweet swing from the left side. But alas he couldnt hit minor league pitching at all, then got some more life on his fastball.
  15. Wally the ump wouldnt of gotten the ball in the neck if he had called the last pitch a strike.
  16. A walkoff on our side would be nice after the craptacular road trip we just came back from.
  17. Hawk is like the little boy crying wolf, so many stretches, get on back theres, and its way back, only to get caught at the warning track or 20 feet before the fence. He is starting to get Harry Carays eye for fly balls.
  18. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 10:04 PM) 2 down, juan"clutch" uribe batting, theres always the bottom of the ninth Holy s*** someone actually decided to go with the low and away pitch.
  19. Get to two strikes, throw a sweeping slider in the opposing batters box.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 09:56 PM) If it was Garcia on the mound, Ozzie would have left him in for 2 more innings. Where Garlands pitch count was, you cant fault him for making the change. If we dont fix the pen, we are going to be in a world of hurt this summer.
  21. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 09:55 PM) he gone Keeping the ball down for Brandon makes him a much better pitcher.
  22. Here is a clue to our right handed batters. For the last 4 years, pitchers have been going away away away on you. So dont act shocked when you see 4 pitches on the outside corner, and then allow it to freeze you for a strikeout. It shouldnt be a mystery.
  23. Look their relief pitchers are getting ahead, and then finishing them. What a concept. And the Texas pen blows BTW.
