  1. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 31, 2006 -> 08:49 PM) Listening to Hawk and DJ describe Cleveland pitchers, its amazing anyone ever scores a run off them. If this gets to Uribe I predict one pitch he swings and hits a popup to the SS.
  2. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ May 31, 2006 -> 08:49 PM) Paul Konerko in May: .234. Jermaine Dye .266 in May
  3. Konerkos last AB just summerized the evening. Gets ahead, cant do anything with it. Then Ks.
  4. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 31, 2006 -> 08:44 PM) Cliff's WHIP must be around 3. Its kind of a shock that right handers are hitting .323 against him.
  5. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ May 31, 2006 -> 08:41 PM) has he given up any earned runs? >i dont know why hes struggling so much this season. supposebly he doesnt have enough confidence.he had a GREAT season last year and pitched in the f***in playoffs. how much more confidence do u need?? He is another guy who has lost velocity since last year. Last year he was hitting his spots with a 93-95mph fastball and an 86-88 slider. This year his slider and his fastball are almost the same, and he is missing his spots.
  6. Politte is getting hit hard. On the Score today they were pimping that Kenny wants Cesar Izturus who is still rehabbing. That he is on Kennys radar.
  7. Our starting pitching has been s***ty outside of Vazquez on Monday since the As series. Back to back crap games for Garcia.
  8. The sad thing, is no matter how much he f***s up with his bat, doesnt execute with the bunt, kicks the ball, throws the ball away, you will see him tomorrow. Uribe is probably the least substituted besides Crede, Thome, and Konerko. He never ever is benched.
  9. It seems that when we get a big scoring game like Mondays, it f***s us up for a few games. Our swings get long, and we stop hitting.
  10. Hawk stating that we have upgraded our offense, however our starting pitching, bullpen and defense are not as good as last years. No s*** Hawk.
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 31, 2006 -> 08:16 PM) Well, the indians are on the verge of a hot streak. We cant take advantage of Detroit playing the yankees. Its not looking good for us. If we take 3 out of 4 here, we could crush them in the standings. By letting them win 2 or 3 out of 4 we give them life. Low payroll, lots of prospects to trade, dangerous combo.
  12. Politte comes in, Inherited runners score. So much for Garcias quality start. We have been playing pretty much around 500 ball over the last few 2 weeks. The offense looked great thumping the tribe on Monday only to s*** the bed over the last 2 days.
  13. In Jakes last 3 starts. Against Detroit 5.1 innings 7 hits 7 runs He shut down the Royals and their mighty O over 9 innings but before that they rocked him for 8 runs in 5.2 innings. So oddly people are hitting him, just not us tonight.
  14. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 31, 2006 -> 07:37 PM) Has anyone from the White Sox ever explained the reason for Freddy's lost velocity? Its pretty alarming. The funny thing is how Hawk and the rest just said, oh here is Freddy and he is now a control pitcher, and just spun it off like its normal for a pitcher to lose a few mph off his fastball and reinvent himself.
  15. 3-0 feels like 10 to nothing right now. Our lifeless offense better get their collective heads out of their asses.
  16. At some point Uribe has to grab some bench. He is absolutely horrible out there night in and night out. Yet everyone is calling for Andersons head. Who is the rookie, and who is the vet.
  17. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 31, 2006 -> 07:33 PM) wow, the indians are on fire. FG has good stuff, and the tribe is getting extremely lucky with hitting good pitches. You mean Freddy has a good breaking pitch. His fastball is still a meatball. Last years Freddy fastball gets past some of these hitters.
  18. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 31, 2006 -> 07:32 PM) Wow. They got a runner on, moved him over, and knocked him in. Just, Wow. Dont worry, the rest of our guys should go into trying to hit moonshots in about the next half inning.
  19. QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 31, 2006 -> 07:25 PM) Man he is so much better at home. Somebody hit him on the head so he thinks we're playing at the cell. How about someone just hits him in the head. You cant hit all year long, then someone teaches you something, and you hit like an allstar. Then of course you forget it. What is he Kelly Bundy, a new thought pushes the old thought out.
  20. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ May 31, 2006 -> 05:00 PM) been a bunch of games when we could have used an extra run here or there, but we got nuthin from the bottom of the lineup. Chris Singleton could come out of the booth and give us more than Anderson -- and it would improve the radio broadcasts, too. So by your vim and vigor to get rid of Anderson, you also want to get rid of Uribe,. Because Uribe is a vet, and isnt hitting much better than Anderson.
  21. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 31, 2006 -> 05:07 PM) Everybody gets a day off except Thome, Konerko, Crede, and Uribe. Let's go back to the Sesame Street days and decide who doesn't belong? OOOOGGGG BLAAAAHHHH
  22. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 31, 2006 -> 03:21 PM) A cubby fan told me it's hairston? Boers and Bernstein called Jerry Hairston, who said he knew why they called him, but he couldnt talk now.
  23. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ May 31, 2006 -> 02:31 PM) Gio's numbers are better than Haigwood's at Double A. I always look at hits and Ks per innings pitched in the minors, more than wins or ERA. Gio has thrown nearly 60 innings with only 39 hits and 69 Ks. That's damn good. Needs to improve control with 27 walks. Haigwood not as good, especially considering he's older. In 51 innings, 49 hits and 54 Ks, but 31 walks. I'll say this: Arizona and Philly scouted our system pretty well. Nobody asked for Anderson. A few years ago, Jeremey Reed tore up AA, and AAA. When he was traded, people were livid, because he was the next big thing. He has hit for s*** in the majors. Prospects are Prospects until they do it in the show day in and day out. Gio could be the next big thing, then again he could be a left handed Felix Diaz. Chris Young could be the next big thing, then again he could turn into Joe Borchard. I like Jim Thome and Javier Vazquez this year over the bulk of prospects we gave up. We are trying to win a world series this year, not become the Minnesota Twins.
  24. How about this. Uribe needs to pick it up. He is the vet, he is the one who has had success before. If he was hitting then we are not talking about Brian Anderson's BA. The tasmanian devil needs his leg kick back, and all is good. Then we can afford Brian to learn on the job. We need a right handed setup guy in the bullpen more to replace Polittes production more than we need someone for Brian. Our pen is more of a worry than our O right now. Cotts, Thornton and Jenks are what I trust out of the pen. Bmac needs to get more consistant. He has great great stuff. Politte needs to figure it out. Jabronis little friend Nelson is a ROOGY. Which is fine. But he is not a right handed setup guy anymore.
