  1. Uribe has the most worthless approach at the plate of all the players on our team. The spinomatic autoout is not working.
  2. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 26, 2006 -> 07:18 PM) Somebody needs to drill Rios. That guy is diving out over the plate without any concern for the inside corner. Freddy needs to stop throwing fastballs down the cock to him. Forget the beaning. Just hit your spots and let your defense do the work. When you get fastballs over the middle of the plate you will hit a lot better.
  3. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 26, 2006 -> 07:14 PM) Anderson will homer tonite. I gotta be right one of these times. He needs to take a pitch or two. He is so afraid of striking out, he jumps on the first pitch near the plate.
  4. Its nice to see Freddy shaking off AJ. AJ calls a great game, just let the catcher call the game and hit the target.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ May 26, 2006 -> 07:07 PM) Lilly has our hitters chasing everything he throws to the plate. Our hitters were successful working the count in the 2nd inning.....but why keep doing something that works? They obviously have something to do after the game with their approach at the plate tonight. Lilly is not a strikeout artist.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ May 26, 2006 -> 03:05 PM) Lilly's a high fastball pitcher. Our offensive success will probably be dictated by whether or not our hitters can get on top of his high pitch. He reminds me of a lefty version of Scott Elarton, who we've struggled against with the high fastball. Actually Lilly is a lefty who pounds in on righties to be effective. That approach doesnt work too well against us. The guys who try and hit the outside corner with crap, and move further out give us fits. Guys who try and pound in, become meat. My prediction tonight. Konerko, Crede and Dye homer for the sox. And we bomb the crap out of them tonight.
  7. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 26, 2006 -> 02:53 PM) Has Lilly been tough against us?? I think so. Last year we faced Ted Lilly in Toronto and bombed the living crap out of him early. Lets recreate that and drop the bomb on them this weekend.
  8. After watching a lack luster effort against Morroco, and our latest friendlies I am a bit concerned on the group of players that Bruce has selected. Eddie Pope is still in the starting 11. Even though he is a tad slow, and gets bad reads on D. Bruce loves his DC United people. Claudio Reyna is an injury waiting to happen and the same can be said for John O'Brien. Josh Wolf has no creativity and doesnt have the speed he had a few years ago to outrun people on the wings. The biggest problem with the US attack is the inablity of to develop a good passing midfielder. The only way we score goals is either on a counter attack straight sprint, or a set play with McBride or Johnson. This is going to be a huge problem in the WC. Donovan being a b**** in Europe and running home to play in a weaker league has f***ed us on a big scale. Our top players should all be in Europe playing against the best. Yet some of them think sitting around and playing against 38 year old European players who are on a last glory tour is the way to go.
  9. Bobby Seay looks like a frumpy old man with no teeth in his gameday picture.
  10. Trailing runner deaks Swisher. Run scores. Swisher is not a good 1st baseman.
  11. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 24, 2006 -> 08:38 PM) That's what I am f***ign thinking. These guys have not had a real pitcher in 5 years why do they just keep recycling this useless crap like Runelvys and Gobble? The problem isnt going away either for the Royals. They havent changed their GM yet. The same group that has been duped on prospects in trades, or drafted Colt Griffin with a high draft pick will still get this years draft. So even if they change it out, they will still f*** themselves in the future.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ May 24, 2006 -> 08:38 PM) I can't believe Hawk just said this is a more fun team to watch than the 2005 team that won the World Series and led from wire to wire. I actually think the talent on this year's team is better....but I was surprised at the comment. Last year was a lot of heart attacks. Scratching out wins, going into late innings all the time with a one run lead. Its a lot more fun to watch our team thump the other team into submission, while our pitchers shut down the other team.
  13. QUOTE(CYGarland @ May 24, 2006 -> 08:36 PM) Detroit up 3-0 now. Boy KC is f***ing useless They started Jimmy Gobble for gods sake, what did you expect.
  14. I like the game calling tonight by AJ. Pounding the righties in, not letting them dive over the plate to get his breaking stuff when he lays it on the outside corner. When Buerhle pitches in, he is successful.
  15. I have to say, I like this years approach of swinging on 3-0. Usually you get some get me over fastball and so far Konerko has been pretty good at crushing it. He just got around on it this time.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ May 24, 2006 -> 08:14 PM) I'm usually with you complaining about our hitter's approach. However, Haren has some dynamite stuff so far. Actually Haren has a tight curve tonight. The approach that the As are taking right now is a good one, and would work on a lot of right handers, not just our team.
  17. Kendall is setting up away after Haren gets a strike on right handers. Then he nibbles further out trying to get our guys to swing at crap.
  18. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 24, 2006 -> 05:05 PM) El Duque for Jorge Julio per ESPN Radio Here is rotoworlds take.
  19. Cabrera 3 run jack of Roberto Novoa. 9-3 Fish Stick a fork in them.
  20. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 24, 2006 -> 01:48 PM) Borchard with a 3-run jack off Maddux.
  21. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 23, 2006 -> 09:23 PM) Wow, Nelson is f***ing HUGE. Just make sure you clean up after you blow it all over the screen.
