  1. Gload cut off Anderson's throw. Anderson had a shot at home. Chris and Farmio are talking like Gload messed up on the cut.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 03:12 PM) That's what I've heard from the Baseball America people His curveball is supposedly a plus pitch though. Its all about location, and then using that pitch to offset his fastball.
  3. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 02:55 PM) I don't know what he's doing in the spring so far. But he was ranked the Padres #1 prospect by BA. He pretty much dominated at AA last year.
  4. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 02:49 PM) I'm not at all judging him by this performance. But I still wish we would've taken Carrillo. I hope Broadway makes me eat crow, though. I have the same feeling about Cesar. I liked him over broadway.
  5. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 02:47 PM) Come on Lance, you are better than this. Lance is doing his best Felix Diaz impersonation.
  6. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 02:46 PM) Gload is gone, lol. I wonder if he will get the teeshirt and parking validation that Bentz got.
  7. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 02:31 PM) Lance Broadway in the game. I thought Hermy was supposed to go two innings today? Broadway promptly walks the first hitter.
  8. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 01:44 PM) What's Baj's ERA+ ? Could any resident stathead, or BP Subscriber PLEASE tell me what is the point in looking at OPS or OPS+ for smaller frame baseball players whose roles are NOT to to hit hit home runs? Amen to this.
  9. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 01:05 PM) Yea, a career OPS+ of 85. Another "eh" trade. I guess these guys are "eh" then. Last years OPS+ numbers of guys that were similiar. Pods OPS+ 86 Uribe OPS+ 85 AJ OPS+ 90 Then we have to look at frame of reference. Is Alex being asked to replace those guys. No. Here are the OPS+ numbers for the group of guys he is asking to replace. Timo Perez OPS+ 48 Willie Harris OPS+ 72 Jeff Blumm OPS+ 33
  10. I like Gload, I was one of the people that wanted him up last year. However When we needed a backup first baseman last year more than anything. Ozzie and KW decided to use Timo Perez at one point, Dye at another. Now Ross's injury would keep him from play the OF, however he could still play 1st. He was also hitting at a .350 clip in AAA at the point and we needed offense, yet he still was down in the minors. Now if that doesnt speak volumes on how this is going to go nothing does. Ross and/or Borchard are gone.
  11. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 11:57 AM) Umm, they need to do that in reverse order. Multitasking Rex. They can do it simultaneously. Have the one bus sending the freaks out the door to prison, and new recruits with new rules coming in. Have the defrocking and excommunication happen as part of their intake procedure at the jail.
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 10:06 AM) http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/europe/03/08...s.ap/index.html Now I know why my cousins shudder when I mention that I was an altar boy They need to allow married priests to replenish the ranks, and then defrock, excommunicate, and then hand over to authorities the freaks who touch kids. This broken record of abuse needs to stop.
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 11:21 AM) BTW, im liking our Sunday lineup this year. Our Sunday lineup looks better than some teams starting lineups. LOL
  14. From rotoworld earlier this year Think about how much our bench has improved from last year. Timo and Willie have been replaced with Alex Cintron and Mack. WOW, great job Kenny.
  15. I think Borchard gets moved now. Someone(the padres who tried to get him late last year) will want him.
  16. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 03:50 PM) Sweeney crushed a HR to right. 3-1 Sox. Good to see some power out of Sweeney. Hopefully his wrists are better this year. That kid has a pretty swing. He is one of my favorite prospects.
  17. Nice to see the offense is hitting on all cylinders. Glad Ozzie told them to get it in gear, but then again this is the vaunted Colorado Rockies pitching staff.. I will be happy when they start hitting and scoring runs. Hopefully it will all click soon.
