  1. Can someone explain to me why when we get men in scoring position and less than two outs, our hitters are more likely to K than get a base hit. I mean the whole idea is to put the ball in play, and all year long they K instead of make contact.
  2. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) If they wanna play like s*** before they head into cleveland and thinking they can just beat up on them to win the division their nuts, they need to play everygame like their playing cleveland. I swear ozzie doesn't have a f***ing clue, even though Everett got on base tonight he should still be benched, looks like a damn lumberjack out there. Oh yeah and maybe he might want to start pinch hitting some guys because AJ today killed us. It's gonna be nice seeing Cleveland oust us because of our DUMBASS manager. :headshake AJ cannot hit a LOOGY. I have watched just about every game, when a LOOGY comes in AJ Ks. That is pretty much that story. With that in mind and having 3 catchers on the roster, we can pinch hit for AJ.
  3. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 07:55 PM) D.J. even mentioned that Cliff isn't throwing as many fastballs as he was before. He's been relying more on sliders and changeups. Cliffy is not shaking off AJ, AJ is putting down the slider call. So blame the gameplan on that. 93mph should be enough if you hit your spots.
  4. Why didnt Ozzie pinch hit for AJ with the bases loaded, when AJ who cant hit a LOOGY had a LOOGY pitch against him. Corpseball again. Nice way to play momentum. We have a 17 game winner on the mound, and they have a pile of s*** and we lose this. Carl Everett what can I say, can we drop him out of the lineup.
  5. Notice the pedal on the right. Keep foot firmly on that until magic number = zero.
  6. This is all about our offense. Hit the ball, score some runs and let Garland do his thing. HIT THE f***ING BALL AND WE WILL WIN
  7. I have been impressed with the offense over the last few days. Hopefully they will keep hot going into the post season. The pitching wont be a problem in the playoffs. It will be the ability for our offense to score runs. If they hit like they did over the weekend the possiblities are endless. Kazmir goes against the Injuns I think on Wednesday. That will make it tough. He is a hard throwing lefty and should give them fits.
  8. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 09:05 PM) God Bless the Rally Crede. Good Lord, this is Nitetrains wet dream. A rally Crede. LOL Nice game Whitesox. Keep f***ing hitting and you will win this thing.
  9. EAT s*** MINNY THE COUNT FOLLOWS THE KID AND MANS THE f*** UP. THE OFFENSE STILL NEEDS TO BATTLE AND KEEP WORKING THIS THING. LETS GO f***EROOS AND LETS GET A WINNING STREAK GOING.
  10. Its real f***ing simple. Our offense was horses*** when we started in April and its horses*** now. The difference was that when we would lose a 2-1 game in May it was thats okay, we have the best record in baseball. Now of course that the lead is down, when the same horses*** offense struggles the same way it has struggled all year long people get all bent out of shape. Its not a new thing, this offense has blown all year long. If the stars align, the moon is in flux, and our hitters realize that they just need a single with men in scoring position we can score a few runs. We face Cy Lohse tonight. Hopefully a few of our hitters realize that Lohse is crap and put a few good ABs against them instead of trying to figure out how far their moon shot will land. All this team had to do in September is beat the teams they should of, and played decent against the good teams and its a walk in to the division.
  11. JUST HIT THE f***ING BALL AND LET THE REST FIGURE ITSELF OUT.
  12. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 01:43 PM) LINEUP... Pods, LF ... Iguchi, 2B ... AJ, C ... PK, 1B ... Dye, RF ... Everett, DH ... Rowand, CF ... Crede, 3B ... Uribe, SS ... Contreras, RHP. Numbers vs Lohse Pods .389 Gooch .500 AJ .286 Kong .125 Dye .143 Everett .500 Arow .286 Crede .152 Uribe .091 How can so many hitters have such a hard time with such a piece of s*** hitter.
  13. QUOTE(Allsox @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) Agreed! No more Carl Everett in the 3 hole....In fact, no more Carl Everett in the starting lineup....Sit him on the bench and make him your first pinch hitter....Maybe that can motivate him to hit the ball instead of telling us stats lie and dinos didn't exist :banghead Actually he is right, stats dont lie and acording to some stats collected over the last month, Everett is very very very very bad at hitting right now.
  14. Anderson or Borchard or Gload should be in instead of Everett. Either DH Dye and put Borchard/Anderson in RF so Dead doesnt kick the ball around out there. or Put Gload at first and have Konerko DH. Something needs to be done.
  15. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 11:36 AM) And everybody thought a Cubs World Series win would be the undoing for what remains of this teams fanbase. I am willing to bet that this will do more damage to this team than anything the Cubs ever did could do to us. If we do collapse 100%...boy...that will be FUGLY. Well considering how many times we have f***ed ourselves with the strike and the white flag trade, this will match up well with both of those.
  16. Bmac is impressive. Talk about walking the walk. He goes out in a huge pressure situation and pitches balls out. What stones this kid has.
  17. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 11:14 AM) What are you saying, we're fickle? Duh. Welcome to White Sox Baseball. And while I'm at it, a special shout out to those who b****ed all season long. Bet you all feel better, right? I have been a pretty outspoken critic of our offense. I never thought it would cost us a playoff birth or the division though. My only comment is that I thought that with some medicore pitchers shutting us down during the year that if we competed with some good offenses in the playoffs, I didnt think our pitching style would allow for shutouts. That we would need to score some runs in the post season to get past round one. I always assumed our stellar pitching would keep up, that our defense would be solid and that pods would rip off 80 or more stolen bases. I never saw that hte offense would completely die in August. I never saw the september pitching issues. I never saw dropping series against the terrible royals in september. This offense has frustrated me since the beginning of the season, it makes me ill to see games like last night where Bmac balls up and pitches his ass off only to watch our team struggle to push across one run with bases loaded. That type of performance is what I saw last year against the twins in August. When I watched Carlos Lee falling over trying to park a pitch into the night instead of making contact and getting a needed single. I feel sick to my stomach about how bad this has turned. I always thought that we had the pitching and defense to win a championship here, my only concern was would the offense die in the playoffs like 2000. Right now all I want is the chance for this team to make the playoffs and to see what happens.
  18. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 10:54 AM) I understand the frustration but team batting average doesn't really tell the whole story. Last year Minnesota had a .266 team average and did ok. This year Tampa Bay is at .274 and Detroit is at .272, I don't see them bragging about it. As for Cleveland, they hit .276 last year and still finished in 3rd place. Their pitching being tops in the AL probably has more to do with it. Our pitching was decent in August. If we hit at all in August we would of had a much better month. Now we had a hard time hitting late in the games. I dont care how good your pitching is, you still have to score more than a few runs to win. This is the AL.
  19. Both of our BA's are now tied at .261 for the year. We are tied for second worst in the AL. Our pitching is great, but we cant hit. Only Seattle is worse than the two teams in BA. Too bad KW didnt try to model us after the Indians. Maybe thats next years Soxfest speech.
  20. The comedic value alone of the Q&A session is worth my money.
  21. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 10:28 PM) Dear Chicago White Sox, I was looking over some records on this whole Collapse issue and I came across this bit of information. I'm pretty sure this is where it all started (look at the date!). It looks like the Mets really like Shingo at this point and we couldn't trade with them anyway right now. Guys I'm not really sure what we can do with this information, would an apology be in order? Perhaps we could play the Gong Song before games instead of Thunderstruck as a tribute? Maybe some sort of a Rally Shingo? Whatever happened to all those commercials with Shingo anyways? Just trying to help. Good luck on the rest of the season. Grasping at straws, -DK OUr offense died before that. I put the death of the offense at the Cub sox series. We won the first game in a laugher. Then we get shut down by Droopy and 1 hit by a less than great Mark Prior. We then sweep Detroit, having problems getting hits and scoring runs except for one game. We trounce Tampa and their terrible pitching, then get swept by the As to end the first half. We sweep the Indians, then lose 2 out of 3 to the Tigers, then the Boston series, then our offense officially dies. It comes alive during the Baltimore series. Then goes back to sleep for a month like a bear in winter. It then comes alive for Texas then our pitching staff goes to sleep. It then goes back to sleep when the Royals come to town. End of offense.
  22. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 10:24 PM) The Sox have played 18 innings of extra-inning baseball at home this season. They have scored 2 runs. Both were on HRs. You can remove the "in extras" part. There is no ozzieball. Bases loaded and people swinging for the dan ryan. If that is how the florida marlins did it then I was on drugs.
  23. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 10:20 PM) When we make the playoffs and when we go to the ALCS and possibly the WS, they will all come back and say they were here all along, but supporting silently. I know exactly what I will be doing. I will be riding my rocket scooter to my great great great grandsons house that got destroyed by the laser gun incident. I will be happy and healthy and my robotic body will survive forever. And the greater North American White Sox will have finally won a world series.
  24. QUOTE(Big Hurtin @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 10:13 PM) Better yet. Thats is awsome. I am keeping that one for use when Hawk goes into an our offense is fine rants.
