  1. QUOTE(WSNS-TV44 @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 02:35 PM) Is KW reading this?I hope so. If he can't get Griffey, then Bellhorn could be the answer. I am hoping we get Ibanez. He doesnt K and is a line drive doubles type hitter that this team needs. Plus he is left handed. Can play the OF and 1st.
  2. HA HA HA HA HA AROD GETS HIT BY THE BALL. YOU OUT JAG!!!!!!!!!! THATS PAYBACK FOR HIS CRAP ON THE THROW IN NEW YORK.
  3. Twinks claim Soriano off of waivers I am sure Texas will pull him back and all. Hopefully they dont get him
  4. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 02:22 PM) Anything to break this streak is fine by me. Plus alot of those hits were to the right side!! At this point, I could care less if they scored those runs on bunts that were tossed all over "bad news bears style."
  5. Same exact lineup against the twinks and against santana. No Crede, means no popout killing the rally.
  6. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) Yup! Remind me to criticize you in every game thread from now on... Its been working all year long
  7. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) we scored 6 runs. say that to yourself a few times. Who are these guys?
  8. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 02:13 PM) YOU CAN'T BEAT THE f***ING WIDGE!!!!!!!!!1 Our argument broke the jinx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG a DONG BY WIDGE. 3 RUN Jack
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) SSI....good thing these guys are trying to pull the ball? Can we put in Cotts now? BREAK UP THE WHITESOX OFFENSE, GOOD LORD!!!!!!!!!!!!! Two Dongs to right. Rowands power stroke last year was to right center. If he does that, we are good. Kong just got a ball he killed. And now we are stringing hits together. Maybe something clicked.

  12. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 02:02 PM) Argument? I'm not arguing anything. I think it's pathetic to use 'retarted' to describe a baseball player. Do you not agree? Maybe you can issue a poll somewhere on the humanist approach to name calling in todays society. Lets get back to the game.
  13. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 01:58 PM) Mr Morals? No. I don't follow your life, or your being a father exclusively. I just think that it's pathetic for you to use 'retarted' to describe a baseball player, and I called you out on it. That's all. Nothing more. I think its pathetic that you are so wrapped up in something that another person types on a message board.
  14. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) The thing is, I can expect it coming from a kid. Not sayng that it's acceptable, but I can expect it. From an "adult"? Not so much. Thank you Mr. Morals for your continuing diatribe on "whats makes an adult today".
  15. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 01:51 PM) Must not have been clear enough that I really don't care what you think about using the word 'retarted' to describe a ballplayer. IMO, it's wrong, and you haven't addressed it, instead looking at other things. Addressed it, is this the UN?
  16. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 01:44 PM) I really can care less what you think. You used the word 'retarted' to describe a baseball player. Of all the words, you used 'retarted'. Again, all of this IMO, but I find that absolutely pathetic coming from an "adult". Whatever, though, to each his own. Oddly instead of ignoring the comment and moving on, you decided to take this opportunity to scold me like someones mother. So for whatever reason, you do care.
  17. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 01:39 PM) I'm glad your vocabulary is so great that you need to use the word 'retarded' to describe a player. Makes you look extremely mature. Being called out about my maturity level on a web board. What will I ever do.
  18. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 01:36 PM) You said you're an adult and have a family, right? Ick... Thanks for the dose of political correctness today.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) Good to see Jermaine Dye following the game plan that Greg Walker had. Walker said they wanted all the hitters to be jumping on the first fastball they saw. Jumping on the fist fastball you see will give Randy about 90 pitches by the 8th inning. We have a low OBP for a reason. Work the f***ing count a bit. Its not like he is working with pinpoint control today.
  20. That swing by Kong was ugly. Dye looked lost. And of course Uribe is retarded. This sucks.
  21. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 01:26 PM) I don't think I like him blaming the manager for his own piss poor execution Thats not the reason that Gooch is having a hard time lately. We took a number 3 hitter and asked him to become a number 2 hitter this year. Its a difficult transition, you go from being aggressive at the plate to having to wait a long time take a lot of pitches. He is always batting with 2 strikes. Hitting to right when you hit the ball further back in the hitting zone is how you hit to right with power, gooch has been dong it differently by utilizing a front step towards first and closing his stance off. That approach while successful, will prone you to slumps because of pitchers starting to beat you in on the hands. Its the direct opposite of trying to pull every pitch. Neither approach is good. You have to hit the ball where its pitched. If you try to pull a pitch on the outside corner we get classic corpseball, when you try and hit an inside pitch to right you get some real ugly looking swings.
  22. Now if Gooch gets a bunt down. Ozuna is at third. Rowands fly to right scores Ozuna. But hey thats the pre-retarded sox of this year who would of done it that way.
  23. Its Ozuna retarded. How do you get picked off second after having such a positive start. Man on second with no outs. How do you not know that a pitcher may have a spin move.
  24. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 09:03 AM) Personally like I said in another thread, he needs to get the guys to hit where they're most comfortable in the lineup. I think Iguchi should be moved down to a run - producing spot, he's our best hitter right now. Hell move Rowand up to #2 to replace him, if not Uribe. Put Everett down behind Konerko, he's a much better hitter in the #5 spot. Then you have Dye and Pierzynski. A.J seems to have hit better when he's down at say #6 or #7 in the lineup than #5 for mine. In the previous off-season I was telling people, our lineup was going to be deeper this year, even without Maggs and Lee. We had the likes of A.J, Pods, Iguchi coming in etc., that would fill more holes in the lineup. Well the problem is now, without Pods, there's no platform at the top of the order, where our best hitters seem to be. If you move Iguchi down a little lower when Pods comes back, it makes the bottom half of our lineup better, especially if you move Uribe back up to #2 where he's hit best, because pitchers won't have to face Crede - Uribe back to back, which has almost become 2 automatic outs. Of course in the off-season, one of 3B or SS is definitely going to have to be upgraded. Rafael Furcal's an option, but is he good enough to be a #2 hitter, or would he have to be down at #9? What about Alex Gonzalez an Ozzie favorite? He'd prob hit the same spot as Juan right now. You've got Bill Mueller a FA. Great season 2 years ago, hasn't hit well since, especially away from Fenway. Slim pickings, unless they can work a trade. I like a lot of what you said here. Gooch down a spot so he can swing away is a good idea. Moving Arow up so he can get more fastballs is another good idea. With Crede and Uribe free swinging behind him, he will never get a good thing to hit. I would also like to see KW get Tracy from the Dbacks or Overbay. If they decide to keep Konerko then move him to DH and he and Tracy/Overbay can spit the 1st base position. They are not bringing Thomas back and with the lack of power options we may have to bite the bullet and keep Konerko. Rafel Furcal will be one of the top FAs this offseason. I would love to have him, but that might be a tough sell. I would be shocked if Crede is back next year. When you hear Sox management making comments that all he will ever be is a 240 hitter, then you have a problem. I remember Arow saying at soxfest that Crede hit at every level and its just nuts he cant hit at this level. His mechanics look completely gone, and now he is slapping at the outside ball just guessing to make contact. He needs a fresh start somewhere else. Sean Burroughs would be nice if he could actually hit for average. He cant hit an extra base hit to save his life, but if he could hit for high average and have good OBP he could be a number 2 hitter next year.
