  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) BTW, my brother just told me Ross Gload went 3-4 with a grand slam vs a lefty tonight. Time to send down Adkins, and call up Gload. Where would he play?
  2. Why the offense is struggling in August Lets start with f***ing retarded hitters Our leadoff hitter Timo Perez 192BA with a .276OBP This is our sparkplug for the retard offense Gooch is hitting .229 Arow .258 Cannot hit the outside pitch, sliders away are dunstonlike Crede is batting .136 with a .174OBP This should be the last season for this experiment Jermaine Dye .173 Glad to see he is a streaky hitter Uribe .244 3 year contract rewarded for a good April and May last year Guys hitting pretty good AJ is 289 Not bad Guys who are hitting good Everett is batting .325 Nobody is on base for me to drive in Konerko is batting .321 Nobody is on base for me to drive in
  3. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 09:31 PM) I just have to say, look at this team when Pods was healthy, versus when he was not. I feel there's a huge difference. Grease we hit 250 in April and May. We won because of overhwelming pitching. If it wasnt for our pitching having a BAA in the 220's in April and in the 250's in May.
  4. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 09:26 PM) I feel Pods is a huge reason this team thinks the only way they can score is via the HR. Fathom, no need to post Pods run totals. I know; you've said it a billion times. I just feel Pods made it easier for the team to realize that they were able to score via a basehit, bunt, or sac fly. The way our hitters approach hitting the long ball at home changed when the temperature started to heat up in the cell. Our offense has struggled since the first game of the Cubs series. Look at our hitting from that point on. We lost that series, then had problems hitting the tigers away. We won those games but it was a hard series. Then we got beat by the As. We beat up on the Tampa Bay devil rays pitching boosting our stats. Then we finished up the first half with a sweep at home by the As. We hit in one of those game in that series.
  5. QUOTE(SouthSidePride05 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 09:21 PM) This really shows how much Podsednik helped the team in the first half... when he was 100%. Every time he got on base, he distracted the pitcher, no matter who was on the mound. Iguchi was solid throughout the entire first half, mainly because he was batting on a distracted pitcher... and that's what sparked the offense. When's his first day back? We need him bad! They hit 250 as a team in April and May. Pods is a good leadoff guy and everything. But this slump is not because Pods disappeared. Pods is not the reason these guys are swinging at breaking pitches in the dirt. Pods is not the reason they cannot take a pitch or work a count. Pods is not the reason they are popping up.
  6. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 09:15 PM) This is a very sad offense to watch right now, plain and simple. KW HAS to get another bat or 2, or this dream season could end up in disaster. He had months to get a Bat. But he listened to Ozzie and the chemistry line. Well we are beyond the waiver deadline and we got no help. Now he might get shutout because of this. I still keep going back to Soxfest when KW talked about saving money on Fas in the offseason was like putting money in the bank for the stretch run in June/July. It would give us flexibility. Geoff Blumm is not what I had in mind when he said that comment.
  7. Well last year at this time we took a dumper when we got swept by the twinks at home. We lost 7 in a row. I felt like we lost 100 in a row. We are only one off that pace. Last year it was our pitching that failed in that streak. Our hitters without Thomas or Maggs and Borchard in RF still hit 262 as a team. We lose Pods and now our team crumbles. We are pitching still good enough to win. If we had the tampa bay offense or even the KC Royal Offense we would still win a fair share of these games. But not with the CORPSEBALL KIDS. We are lucky to see a few hits, and every pitcher can have at least 6 Ks against us.
  8. I remember everyone making comments about how it doesnt matter that our offense isnt great because our OOBER pitching would shut out the other team, while our offense would beat up on medicore pitching of the playoff teams. Well guess what our offense is so bad that any medicore pitcher can look like Cy Young.
  9. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 08:59 PM) Still we have a 9.5 game lead were 29 games over .500 look at the bright side of things. We were up on the twinks by 16.5 last week and 15 on the injuns. So dont sneeze becaues we could be only 5 games up by next week.
  10. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) I'd much rather face Johnson than Wright. We can't hit right handers. and johnson sucks this year. Any pitcher that goes against us is Cy Young. Johnson Kd 10 Twins about 2 weeks ago. We are free swinging guys who dont take pitches. Guess the K count.
  11. Jon Garland held a nasty offense to a few runs. He did his job. Our offense is really really terrible.
  12. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 08:45 PM) Still timo haters and yet him and konerko have been the only ones not slumping lately. With Timos brilliant hitting he has raised his August average to .192. with a .276OBP. Thats f***ing stellar.
  13. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 08:35 PM) Anyone else a little bummed out Mussina held us down? Pretty much all our hitters had to do tonight is be patient, Yanks are and their getting stuff going their way. All I can do is shake my head. Check the OBP for this team. And look where it ranks in the AL, we are not a patient team. We are a bung of swing monkeys. The minute a pitch is remotely near the plate we are hacking. No working the count, no taking a walk.
  14. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 08:24 PM) If I see Timo leading off tomorrow, I'm charging the dugout and strangling Ozzie. ANYBODY but Timo could lead off. Rowand, Iguchi, I know they are not ideal lead off guys, but they have to be a better option. Play Anderson in LF. Timo will start every game as the leadoff and LF unless its a lefty. Then Anderson will start and Ozuna will leadoff probably playing 3rd. Timo must be a jedi because he really has Ozzie fooled on his talent level.
  15. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 08:23 PM) You guys are acting like KW didn't think we needed to get KGJ. He tried. It didn't work out. There owner didn't want to give them up. Yeah because KGJ was the only hitter available on the market.
  16. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) Just to let you know, Konerko was injured in the final round of batting practice before the game and is listed as day-to-day. Maybe Timo can get some time at first.
  17. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 08:05 PM) I thought it was just a small slump...obviously its much worse than that.. We hit in the 250s in April and May. Then hit in the 270s in June and July. Now in the .220s in August. Every crappy pitcher seems to get 6 or more strikeouts on us.
  18. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 08:02 PM) Corpse Ball is back ladies and gentlemen......what the f*** is wrong with this team... CWSOX45 Corpseball has been back all month. 40% of our runs are scored by homers and the BA is below 230 now as a team.
  19. Timo Perez is our leadoff hitting. Thats f***ing insane. He wouldnt start for any f***ing team in either league. Yet he is option number 1 for Ozzie. I hope he really is good at whatever pleases Ozzie because baseball is not one of those things.
  20. Well Ozzie had a team meeting and they have had a players meeting according to the Score. And this is the sign of desperate times.
  21. The YankMes need to eat ooo about 200 million dollars worth of s***!!! Lets get back to kicking ass and taking names.
  22. Tony the Tiger said she's GREEEEAAAT At some point even morons have to realize the taking pictures with a tiger is a bad idea. This is not a movie, big predators will eat you if they get a chance.
  23. Riping off the irish again. We had this first. GUINNESS IS ALREADY GOOD FOR YOU
  24. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 04:14 PM) You are damn right she is hot. Ever see Underworld? She is back in leather for underworld 2. She is shooting it right now.
