  1. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 06:57 PM) He had a 1.50 ERA in his 2 games for the Yanks before this. And how do you think the Yanks fans feel about their offense up against Contreras, the guy they got rid of? Oddly I dont see them getting 2 hit and 3 hit all the time like we do.
  2. QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 06:50 PM) I'm not even gonna debate it. Chacon is a good, underrated pitcher. He is a good pitcher. Is he someone that should shut your offense completely down. One solo homer and that is it. NO
  3. Playoff like atmosphere in New York must be kicking up our preview of our offense in round 1 of this years playoffs. I remember how high they hit those popups in 2000. How they just missed the homer. Just a few inches to the right or left and it would of been gone. LOL
  4. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 05:52 PM) There is a guy on the AOL board that says Crede is one of the best all around players in baseball. Tell Nitetrain to get off the AOL board.
  5. We need to score runs, if this is scorless or tight in about the 4th or 5th inning Conteras will pop like a zit. Too much pressure.
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 05:50 PM) Down to a smooth .125 batting average this month for Crede now. I thought he was a second half hitter. That all this crap of him hitting bad was a prelude to him hitting great in August and September.
  7. Crede pops up. The Corpseball POPUP O MATIC has been loaded and is in full effect.
  8. We have a pitcher who walks a lot of guys with a bunch of hitters who dont have good OBP because they swing at pitch one or pitch two.
  9. Another pop up. Crede coming up. I wonder what Crede is going to do.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 05:44 PM) Tony Womack does his best Timo Perez impression. Except Tony is their number 9 hitter and Timo is our 5 hole protection for Konerko.
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 05:38 PM) This whole offense is pressing right now...it's one of those times when 1 guy struggles, 2 guys start pressing to pick them up and end up struggling themselves... We just need to hope we can snap out of it within a few games and it doesn't last too long. Look at this year. We struggled as a team to hit and score runs in April and May. In June we got Frank and our offense got a jump start. We hit better in June. In July and now August we have reverted back to crap. Its not like this offense was raking the ball and we are in a slump. June was the only good month for the offense.
  12. 2000 offense in the playoffs. One million pop ups and our 3-4-5 hitters did nothing. The birth of the catch phrase Corpseball. That offense was so much more dangerous than this one. YUCK
  13. Lazy Pop ups. I have seen this before. 2000 Offense in the playoffs. We need a freakin bat, and Timo is not the answer.
  14. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 05:35 PM) I hate Timo Perez. Ozzie on the pregame said he is going with the same lineup last night because it seemed to work for us, it got us a lot of hits. Ozzie needs whatever excuse to get his girlfriend in the game.
  15. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 05:28 PM) Well, if Chacon loses his grip and accidently hits us, I expect him to be tossed than. Nope, they will rule its unintentional. But if Jose even farts the wrong way he will be rung. Atkins will be in this game.
  16. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 08:30 AM) then...I hope Ozzie lights a fire under the ass of this offense. He did that yesterday with his lineup changes and his insertion of Timo as the 5th hitter and DH. Gload >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Timo as a DH
  17. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 08:26 AM) Carl Everett (groin) said yesterday that he definitely won't be ready to play today. ''I wouldn't give it a date,'' Everett said. ''Basically, I'm just going to let it do what it does, and when it's ready, I'll be in there. I'm just listening to my body. If my body says I can go, I'll go. I just have a certain way I play, and I don't want to affect that.'' Aug. 9 - 9:40 am et Source: Chicago Sun-Times This is stupid. If a player is going to be out for a week, then put him on the DL. We can then recall Gload or someone to provide a better DH option than Timo. We did this with Ozuna earlier in the season. He was out for like 3 weeks and wasnt put on the DL. More Timo as the DH. Our offense is batting .223 now over the last week without Everett.
  18. QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 09:52 PM) Ha. I wouldn't start him any playoff game. You wouldnt, but would Ozzie. I mean he has done some crazy things. Timo batting 5th tonight, Timo playing 1st, Freddy starting the 9th inning on a losing effort after throwing over 100 pitches and having a 1 hour rain delay, etc, etc. I hope its one of the big three, Mark, Garland or Freddy. I would rather see it be either Mark or Jon based on their success at the Cell for the first 2, then Freddy in the away game. But my gut tells me that Freddy will be the game one starter or El Duque. Hope I am wrong.
  19. QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 09:49 PM) I wouldn't start Buehrle game 1 against the A's either. He does not match up well against them. Just remember that if El Duque makes the start for game one based on "playoff experience"
  20. "I'm going to see who throws the ball better at that particular time and who's the best matchup. It's not a matter of who's No. 1, No. 2 or No. 3." Playoff Rotation :uhoh
  21. He should be in AAA, and Gload should be up. No more TIMO batting 5th.
  22. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 09:14 PM) He was batting over .400 career against Timo. Same goes with AJ. Lineup was pretty smart if you ask me. It just didn't produce. We need another big stick. Unfortunately, we're going to have to stick with what we got. It wasn't one single player's fault we lost tonight. It was the whole offense. Timo is 1 for 11 lifetime against Moose. That comes out to a whopping .091BA. There was no real reason to bat him 5th outside of Ozzies love for alernating leftys and righties for matchups late in the game. Which again doesnt make any sense because Mo is harder against lefties than he is against righties. And over his last 7 days Timo is batting .083. So he is slumping right now also.
  23. Hopefully Everett is back. No reason what so ever unless its the last game of the season do you bat a man hitting .217BA/.582OPS in the number 5 spot. This manlove for Timo from Ozzie has got to stop. Timo can be on the team as a pinch hitter, maybe a replacment outfielder. But as a 1st baseman at one point, then as a DH this is beyond the call of reasonability. Lets put some runs on the board. You cant win if you dont score more than at least 2. LETS GO WHITESOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 08:14 PM) It's always Timo's fault, always....... You have to love the .217BA on the ole number 5 hitter. That strikes fear in the Yankees and ballclubs all around.
  25. This is what to worry about in the playoffs. El Duque holds the yanks to 3 runs and still loses because we cant hit their pitching. Our margin for error is nill. I would rather have Joe Borchard up instead of Timo in the 5th spot. And that is saying something.
