  3. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 02:05 PM) when you say "value" did you mean that someone might pay for what i say? oh cool! look jack in all seriousness i love tim raines....get a kick out of how he runs to first base during warmups before each inning and then just barely runs past first safely and jokes with the opposition first baseman...that to me is fun but what are you trying to do? kill the sox fan? Usually when kids walk into walls they dont give the wall a puzzled look then take a few steps back and then plow into the wall again.
  4. The whitesox are coming in hot to this series with the cubs. We never come into a crosstown series with the bats and the pitching all clicking. We should take this series. I will be there to watch Mitre get lit up and Garcia mow them down. SOX PRIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 01:37 PM) more like i had to watch larussa keep putting Dan Pasqua in key situation against blue jays in playoffs...still hurting from that whitesoxmanager blunder! & he said it was all about the math...yikes....there it is again Dan Pasqua strike 3 for the 5th time with bases loaded and 1 out! What dialect of moron is this. I would say idiot, but it seems like a variance of moron. Keep babbling we will figure it out.
  6. He tried getting one in, thats where can you PULL BASEBALL. Nice drive Everett.
  7. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 01:12 PM) Unfortunately there's a long list of players like that. Its pretty sad when your coaches say that after all the work hitting in the winter, all the changes that you pretty much have regressed and are the same hitter as the year before. That you will hit good for a few weeks then go into a slump and pretty much will hit 240 for the year. Not everyone is hitting .240 Jim.
  8. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 01:10 PM) LOL.. Crede could be hitting .300 and he'd still get ripped on. If he would hit above 260+ consistantly. And that means not 190 for a month, then 300 for a few weeks, then 190 for another month. I wouldnt have a problem with him.
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 01:08 PM) lay off Crede that dude is a very good player! average doesn't reflect his ability! this game is all about confidence. he has a sweet swing and comes up with clutch hits. fielding is A+. there were years where the sox didn't even know what a 3rd baseman was! Sweet swing? Good lord.
  10. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 01:04 PM) Crede lines out. 2-0 Sox to the top of the 5th. Its hard to tell that Joe Crede has a .179BA with RISP and 2 outs.
  11. On the Joe Randa Watch he is 1-3 with an RBI single, a walk And this is facing Mark Mulder.
  12. Clue to our hitters, he is pitching away. The more you pull it the more you are playing into his game. If you keep hitting oppo with the pitches away he will have to come in and then you can turn and burn it.
  13. Froemming has to love that Mark is on the mound. His fat ass will be done in under 2 hours if Mark keeps dealing like this.Unless the Hunter - Fatty screw Ozzie plan isnt in effect.
  14. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 12:29 PM) Damn it, that pitch was up too. He should have drove it. The dude is ptching our guys away. Some of them got the memo. However lefties tossing away up make our hitters drool to pull the ball. Hit the other way until he is forced to come back in.
  15. QUOTE(upnorthsox @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 08:21 AM) Interesting no mention of Guadardo, he must fall within the exclusive domain of the scrubs. Insideous bias! Partially torn rotator cuffs usually dont excite people.
  16. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 06:23 PM) Who's the center fielder on your All-City team? 99.7% Aaron Rowand, White Sox (60388 responses) 0.3% Corey Patterson, Cubs (208 responses) 60596 total responses The best is the responses from the cubby fans who are upset that someone voted so many times. LOL :fthecubs
  17. Is there going to be a ticket release before this weekend? Usually there are some reserved tickets that get released. With our season ticket base being so low I can see that they sold all 3 days out bases on a combo of season tickets/ozzie&minnie plans.
  18. We should fear ourselves. The only way we blow this and dont make the playoffs is not because of the other teams. It would be because we fell apart.
  19. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) You are absolutely right, and if Crede happens to get hurt, Randa is perfect. Why not get Randa now. A guy who makes contact, can bunt, can sacrifice, can move the runner over instead of Mr. we expect .240 out of him and he has a great glove. I dont understand this. We tried numerous times to upgrade in the OF and at 2nd base over the years with guys who had great gloves, but had problems at the time with putting the ball in play. We are trying to win a world series here. Mr. Crede can retake the position next year. Watching this guy either hit the ball out of the park or GIDP/K/Pop out is sick. We need consistancy for the position.
  20. Right from the Walks mouth. When asked on Carmen and Silvy's show about Crede Walker projected his season. He is on track for a .240 season with 20 homers and 70 RBIs. He says he hits for a bit, then doesnt, then hits for a bit, then doesnt. But hey he would buy a ticket to watch this kid play third. Time to get someone, sounds like the coaching staff has given up on him hitting at all. Says he has a mechanical flaw that they had hoped would of been fixed, but he is back to last year.
  21. How many extra pitches did the kid have to throw on 2 strikes that were strikes. I can count at least a few times he had strike 3 sitting there, and the ump called a ball.
  22. QUOTE(Tmar28 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 09:53 PM) i take it you do not like these umpires Remember the Oakland series, and Crede getting tossed. Widger playing third, Dye at SS. That was a product of this umping crew. Ozzie has been tossed out of games by this douche.
  23. Whats the under/over of Ozzie getting tossed by Fatty Froemming or Hunter Dumbledork this series. I would say about 80%. Well its our turn to rotate the anti-ozzie umping team back into a series. In this series if a call or obscure ruling can go against the sox, it will. Tonight there was two strike zones. One for the herpes man, the other for any other sox pitcher. Fatty Froemming will be out of position the entire series. Umpires: HP--Jerry Meals. 1B--Mike Winters. 2B--Bruce Froemming. 3B--Hunter Wendelstedt. Wait till Hunter Dumbledork gets behind the plate to screw us big time. Thank god this is the royals and we should stomp on them.
  24. Maybe thats how Lima got herpes. He ate to much s***.
  25. QUOTE(nvxplorer @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 02:31 PM) I don't think Randa is a poor defender, just not as good as Crede. My point was that one non-power bat isn't going to produce a whole lot of extra runs. The difference between .250 and .290 over the rest of the season is 12 hits (est. 300 ABs). The added offense from 12 extra hits is negligible. Likewise, the reduction in defense from Randa is negligible as well. It's a wash, basically. Therefore, with the team built around defense, it's wiser to stick with Crede. Contract negotiations are a different story, and I may agree with you on that, but that's for the offseason. There is more to this than just 12 hits. Crede has a problem putting the ball in play effectively at times. He pops up, strikes out, or grounds it to 3rd or SS. Hitting the ball to the right side to move a runner, being able to bunt a runner over, being able to make contact and lift the ball into the air for a sacrifice is what Randa brings to the table over Crede. Granted if someone groves a breaking pitch center in Crede will crush it. But if they throw it away he is dead meat. When the playoffs come its not like we will be in a slug fest. It may come down to execution. This is the place where crede is lacking. Sure he can catch a ball, but can he put the bat on the ball in situational hitting when we need him to. And my vote is no. He will pop up/k/or GO.
