  1. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 02:31 PM) True. My main point is that Cotts was the guy that made that inning scary. At least Thriller isnt pitching for the sox anymore. Everytime he came in I turned to my wife to say I am closing my eyes tell me when the home run lands.
  2. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 02:18 PM) Yeah. My only defense of Politte is that he gets thrown into the game in horrible situations. This inning is really Cotts' fault. I agree, but isnt that what relievers get paid for. I mean most relievers unless they are in mop up work or when a pitcher gets tired are thrust into positions of danger. Plus this guy was a closer before, he should be used to the pressure of being a 7th inning guy. He has a great arm but gets behind in the count. Last year when he was going well he would get ahead with the fastball and then get them out. He was aggressive and showed no fear. In the early going last year, he was like he is now, timid careful about not making a mistake then gets himself into a 2-0 count or 3-1 count. Ozzie should just sit the guy down and say be aggressive in the strikezone, dont pitch thinking about making mistakes.
  3. Cliff looks to be in a constant state of terror everytime he gets on the mound. Kind of the pitching version of Crede.
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 02:08 PM) Now we just need Mike Jackson to clean up this mess. Isnt Billy Chaos available. Oh yeah thats right he is now the official bluejays antifan. He is busy.
  5. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 03:25 PM) How did cotts look? He worries me, as far as the relievers go... He looked a lot better. He threw a lot more strikes. If he throws strikes he will be fine.
  6. BEST MOVE BY OZZIE THIS GAME: Pinch hitting for Crede in the 9th. That would of been either a GIDP or a pop up. The rally is killed.
  7. Where is the injun fans that where on here talking about the new and improved Injun pen that we have been hearing about.
  8. I YELLED JELLY DOUGHNUT and Wickman dropped the ball
  9. No matter how bad the sox offense struggles. The injun bullpen just blows donkey junk.
  10. Someone forgot the memo on the smallballl. DYE AND KONG YOU GUYS ARE BEASTS. NICE!!!!!
  11. KONG!!! Now thats why it doesnt bother me as much that he pops up and GIDP as much. That balk hurts and that run that Marte just gave up sucks even worse.
  12. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) Bob Fatman, I mean Wickman, is in to clost the game out... Jenny Craig should jump on this marketing goldmine. A shake for lunch and a shake for dinner will make this closer a bit thinner.
  13. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) 3-1 count to Hafner... This is exactly what kills Marte. FILTHY FILTHY STUFF. But he gets behind the count. Then gets hurt. That run was huge. If it wasnt for that and the balk this would of been 1-0. Now we will have our power hitters trying to park ones onto the concourse instead of getting on.
  14. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) Here comes the big test, Travis Hafner. YUCK!!!!!
  15. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) Pop out bunt attempt. 1 out. Marte coming in for Vizcaino. Marte better bend over on his fastball and not pull the short arming crap I saw him do down in Arizona and last year. I dont know what the hell happened with this guy, he has got FILTHY FILTHY stuff. But he got into some funk last year that he short arms the fastball and it sails. follow through Marte they cant hit you.
  16. Think about this. How many times last year were we in these big offensive battles with the Injuns. Now we shut down their offense and we cant score. The irony is frightening.
  17. QUOTE(hi8is @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:34 PM) i can not believe how few people are there, what the f*** is wrong with you chicagioans? I have this thing called a job.
  18. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) I like the #2 and #3 batters there... Crede hit the crap out of that. I dont see anything different that last year with Crede's swing. It looked the same way when I was down in Arizona and it looks the same today. He pops up and does that half check swing thing making a bit of contact. Whether he hits it or not, dont ever get into that am I going to swing or not stuff that he did last year.
  19. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:19 PM) still, we have had great pitches to work with today, it wasnt anything more devastating than fastballs on some corners, and we still couldnt get the ball to go anywhere. Corpseball last year was when we would have some soft tossing pitcher who would paint the corner consistantly. Our hitters would either roll their wrists over trying to pull it GIDPing all the time or reaching trying to pull it and popping it up lazily. When the sox hit well last year we hit those outside pitches to the opposite field then they had to come in and we would jump on the inside pitch. I dont think that this is anything like that. We just have to get better on keeping on top of the ball. Our fast guys need to keep the ball on a line drive or put in on the ground. Konerko trying to get lift I understand. He is a bopper, but it would be nice to get the line drive a bit more from time to time. Our offense is just not in sync right now. I would like to see Pods get on top of the ball more. Gooch will be ok. Crede needs to show that improved swing that we heard about. I was hoping that Crede would get off to a fast start. He is a guy who will get on himself more and more and dig himself into a hole. I think he is the Jon Garland of our hitting. Great stuff but the noggin needs to get screwed on straight. Crede has the tools but needs to shorten that swing up a bit.
