  1. We need to make sure that grandma either sells the team or puts in a clause in her will that when she is done messing up the bears that any of her moronic spawn doesn't get their hands on it. We have a geriatric lady running our team. Great for us. Hey but we fired Shea. WOOO HOOO optimism is here to stay. Papa Bear is rolling in his grave with the stupidity that took over after him.
  2. QUOTE (Jeckle2000 @ Jan 1, 2005 -> 04:42 AM) Jon Garland a better value then Vazquez...Yes... Jon Garland with more upside then Vazquez...Yes... Jon Garland in the hall of fame or winning a CY Young...no offense but pass that bong over here.... Jeckle that fine crack you smoke must be getting to your head. Garland does not have more upside than Vasquez
  3. Most of my family missed the memo on this.
  4. 8.5 million for that. El Duque what a bargain you are.
  5. He is going to get destroyed in the AL. His arm is crap now and his era was close to 5 in the NL. 2003 is a distant memory for this guy. If he was worth anything dont you think that someone would of picked him up for anything and given him more than a single year.
  6. Millwood has an NL Era of close to 5. How do you think that will translate to the AL. He is going to get killed then he will get injured. Its a moterate pickup and wastes 7 mill for them.
  7. Grilli in the pen would = 2005 version of Mike Jackson No inherited runner would be safe, he would most likely walk the bases loaded and give up the big dong. On the other hand he is quite cheap.
  8. I dont know if I agree on his placement of Sweeney. But he is pushing BMAC and Anderson as tops. Foxsports on our prospects
  9. Willie spells CF and 2nd base. It gives us also a pinch runner, granted a pinch runner that hugs the base he is on because he is afraid of running, but a fast one when the ball is hit.
  10. 10 times Do you think you are overstating you case just teensy weensy bit. I did a once over of the stats and I think they favor Javier outside of last year.
  11. Jeckle I do remember you b****ing up and down how bad Garland was in whitesoxcentral.com chat last year when he pulled his judy routine more often than not. Now he is better than Vasquez. Flash, Tmar, Minny anyone remember this? I can understand the money and contract side of the puzzle, but to say that Garland is better than Vasquez alone is goofy even for you.
  12. Jeckle will have a stroke if KW starts to low ball Arow. He may finally snap.
  13. Arow is my new favorite player after Maggs left. We need to lock him up.
  14. Vasquez Vasquez > garland+marte or anderson I like marte a lot. However if we can get Vasquez our starting pitching would be sick. Not worth giving up Kong though.
  15. Even with a destroyed arm he could outpitch our teeball stand by committee that we would of marched out there in ST. OH for 2 years 8 mill > Teeball Grill+Teeball Diaz+amount of tums I would need for my ulcers+replacing my tv after I throw the remote through it+the replacment after I kick the dog so much in anger that I need to put him to sleep Simple formula. Its an overwhelming yes for signing this guy.
  16. I like this lineup. Pods is your leadoff guy. He gets on and can swipe a base. Eck has good patience and the bat control and speed you need as a number 2. He also can lay down a bunt to sack Pods over to 2nd. Arow is your line drive hitter, doubles guy, has some power but also has some speed. Then you get into the thumper part of your lineup. Konerko Now with the speed ahead of him is less likely to double up. Everett/Thomas Another RBI group. Great place to get some RBIs gives great protection for Konerko. Dye should have some good RBI opps here can extend the inning Crede and Davis have low BA but good power and if they have up years could bridge it back to Uribe who has speed and power. I like it. It is a nice balanced lineup. It should give us more depth and more ability to stretch out some innings and create some runs.
  17. Think about our rotation for next year from one interesting point. We will have 5 pitchers who have all completely different stuff. All good, but different enough so that having a good day off of one pitcher doesnt mean that the team will be able to transfer that success to the next. This is not in any rotational order btw also. As of now and including if we get Javier Vasquez and spin off Garland. I have included Garland just incase we keep him. Buerhle Location guy, nasty changeup and cutter. Best when he pounds the guy in and in. Garcia Live fastball with some sink to it, good slider and curve. Best when he keeps the ball down. Vasquez Live fastball,.great location pitcher, gets ahead and puts you away. Great curveball Contreras filthy splitter and live fastball O Hernandez, great breaking stuff, motion is all legs and arms Garland if Vasquez isnt here. Sinkerballer, good curveball
  18. I thought Jon Garland was a member of the whitesox already?
  19. If contreras could realize that throwing a 95 mph fastball to setup your awsome splitter is so much better than throwing 12 splitters and walking the bases loaded then throwing your 95mph fastball down the cock. He should just throw what is layed down from Davis instead of shaking our catchers off. Watching Bull Durham should be the first thing they do in spring training for the whitesox.
  20. My favorite radio quote from yesterday and I think it was from Bruce Levine was how do you say Kyle Farnsworth in spanish. Jorge Julio. That was in response to the cubs need to trade for Julio.
  21. Flash I am kinda tossed up about losing Marte. On one hand it depends on the Marte we are losing. Is it the world beater in 2003 with the electric stuff or is it the guy in 2004 who couldnt locate his fastball because he wasnt following through on his release. Marte's issues from last year are very very fixable. But it depends on how we are using Marte on our team. If we are using him as a closer or primary setup guy lets keep him. Marte(setup guy/closer) with learning how to follow through again > issues garland will impose in our rotation If we are only using him as a lefty specialist we can find another one of those so trade him and get a legit top of the rotation guy. Visquiano's(I know I cant spell)'s splits against lefties are pretty good. We bring in another lefty with a good breaking pitch to be a situational lefty. Marte as a situation lefty
  22. Yeah but even world beaters have a problem playing in New York becaue of the Pirahanna press that they have out there. Look at how ARod struggled to start the season. I look at the years before, plus we are competing in the AL Central and not against the Redsox all the time.
  23. If we trade for Vasquez and give up Garland think about that freakin rotation guys. Buerhle Garcia Vasquez Hernandez Contreras That my friends would absolutely shut down all AL Central teams and if we got a piddling of offense we would win the division easily. Remember guys we play in coors east. A guy who would hit 5 home runs might hit 15 here.
