  1. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 10:12 AM) Span was the one I would have liked to see here if/when the Sox miss on the other two. Me too. I would've loved to see if we could get Span and Desmond for somewhere near what Upton/Cespedes would've cost.
  2. I thought it was pretty amazing that the highest and lowest drafted hall of famers are going in together.
  3. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 03:58 PM) Do you honestly think there's any chance at all the Sox are going to start Avi in RF next season? I'll bet my house that they don't. This is one of those things where I hope to hell it is the case but am frightened it's their intention to play him.
  4. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jan 2, 2016 -> 01:15 PM) As for Davis. He's a 1B/DH and has nothing to do with FA outfielders not signing. He does have time in the outfield as late as last season (30 games in right).
  5. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jan 2, 2016 -> 10:23 AM) Levine is awful. Cespaydees and said Jorge Soler like Jorgay LOL You'd think he would at least try to get the names right. His are bad, but the callers are pretty funny.
  6. It's total comedy listening to the people on the score try to pronounce Cespedes. "Sees-pay-days"
  7. I'm still not quite getting how Heyward was a "steal" at nearly $200 million and this guy is too risky for $100 million.
  8. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 30, 2015 -> 05:08 PM) This It's taken me years to remove the ERob years from my memory. Thanks for bringing that s*** back up!
  9. I kinda feel like Gordon or Cespedes is the Boozer.
  10. QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 30, 2015 -> 04:55 PM) You guys remember the feeling you had when the Bulls were trying to sign a FA (both times) and had the money but just could not get them to come here for whatever reason? As a fan you kind of had that feeling that is what was happening even though we heard they had mutual interest in a lot of cases. In the end it didn't turn out too well. I kind of get that same feeling with big FA's the Sox are targeting right now. I could be totally wrong, I know. But Southpaw hasn't met Cespedes at the airport yet!
  11. QUOTE (MDWhiteSoxFan @ Dec 30, 2015 -> 12:04 PM) Someone call Harriet the Spy and the Hardy Boys stat! I wish he would sign so we can have some more stuff to talk about haha Only one man can solve this one...
  12. I don't even care which one at this point. Just do something.
  13. QUOTE (Vance Law @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 11:31 AM) Giving Avi a starting job is dumber than giving Laroche a starting (platoon) job. This. Regardless of which outfielder we sign, we need another bat. Avi or LaRoche in this lineup doesn't signify going for a run. We'll still have two holes in the lineup at C and SS, can't have that third black hole.
  14. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 10:47 AM) I can't see this team spending $20M per on Alex Gordon (on top of Frazier & Lawrie moves) only to trot Avi's useless ass out in RF on a daily basis. Maybe as a part of a platoon, but not as the everyday starter. Until you get that RF upgrade, you're better off with Melky in RF & an LaRoche/Avi platoon at DH. And if you add Gordon, he should definitely bat second where his on-base skills can be maximized. 1. Eaton, CF 2. Gordon, LF 3. Abreu, 1B 4. Frazier, 3B 5. Cabrera, 3B 6. Lawrie, 2B 7. LaRoche/Avi, DH 8. Saladino, SS 9. Avila/Navarro, C I don't think Frazier needs help at third.... No really though, Melky in right is scary. Dude was barely decent in left.
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 12, 2013 -> 12:51 PM) I imagine it went down similar to Milton in Office Space. They kept moving Harold's locker closer to the exit until he was gone, but he was just too quiet and soft-spoken to say anything about it. He might still be in the parking lot thinking he has a job. He's gonna put strychnine in the dippin dots.
  16. As much as I'd like to say "hahaha, nice work Theo!" I gotta consider the source. Schilling is an asswipe and has always been one.
  17. OPS the last two years: .557, .542 No way.
  18. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 09:27 PM) #Cubs source says Marmol-for-Haren trade "not happening" Indeed. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/8584934/...deal-called-off
  19. I wouldn't be horribly opposed to adding him if the Yankees were to eat up at least 65-70% of the remaining contract. ARod at $8-9 million a year, sure.
