QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 6, 2011 -> 03:24 PM) Danks-Peavy-Floyd-Humber-Stewart Sale starting in AAA and on the same rotation as Peavy in case of injury. That's mine too. I could just as easily see them sign bring Mark back and trade one of Floyd/Danks but I just have a feeling Buehrle is going to be elsewhere in 2012.

Anyone Making the Trip to Comerica this Weekend?
bschmaranz replied to jwmann2's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I went to Comerica 6 or 7 years ago and I gotta admit, I really enjoyed it. Can't go too far in depth about it but when we went it was big, clean and nice. The statues out front are pretty cool too. Only real drawback for me was the food. Most of it was horses***. I've heard a lot of people badmouth the place but it was a perfectly acceptable baseball experience to me. The area around the park isn't too bad, but the city in general i a real s*** hole. With the exception of that little area (Ford Field is next door too), the damn city is a sewer. Be careful is all I can say about the rest of Detroit. -
Some caller on the Score was calling on Steve Stone to be Hendry's replacement.

2007 called, it was wondering what took so long.

Schaumburg Flyers evicted from Alexian Field
bschmaranz replied to HuskyCaucasian's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 3, 2011 -> 03:18 PM) ^^Maybe that's why. Having a AAA affiliate right near by at 1/4 of the cost of the MLB club might really drag down your ticket sales. It's not like the Sox are selling out every game anyway. Can't speak for everyone in my area but I'm about 10 minutes from Alexian and I would go to a s***load of games if the Sox put an affiliate in there. I think a lot of Sox fans in the area would. Especially since getting to The Cell is kind of a b**** from around here. -
Does Scalabrine just get paid to high five people during timeouts?

Who is the best player on the Sox right now?
bschmaranz replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I went with the fellow in my avatar but I honestly don't see a far and away guy on this team that you could consider the BEST we have. -
You could also consider that perhaps he realizes he doesn't have anything to add anymore. 2nd half of '09, he was probably the worst everyday player in the majors, both at the plate and in the field. He's not gonna tell the media that he's washed up so he'll say he's looking for this or looking for that. .590 OPS in the 2nd half, .590!

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Feb 4, 2011 -> 12:44 AM) Also, I don't see how wanted a major league offer is whining. If he would rather retire than settle for a bad contract, then I applaud him for not just trying to get that extra $500K to be minor league fodder. I wouldn't call it whining but in the end, his inability to swallow his pride and compromise on a gig did end his career.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 11:20 PM) Did he? I'm not saying your wrong. I just don't recall. I remember the Nationals being brought up. But I remember it being a minor league deal being possibly offered. I could be wrong but I seem to be remembering him getting a number of major league offers but none of them with a guarantee of being an everyday outfielder

White Sox Off-Season Catch All Thread
bschmaranz replied to Chisoxfn's topic in 2011 Season in Review
Anyone watching these "Right Now" lists on the MLB Network? I'm sorry but Alexei is not the 7th best SS in baseball. Jimmy Rollins? Derek Jeter? Elvis Andrus? Come on! Al Leiter actually said that he needed to improve his defense to move up the list. -
QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 11:30 AM) In the end I think people who are so outspoken in their dislike for Guillen are just pissed that he put Mark Kotsay in the lineup on a regular basis. That's a perfect way to describe my disliking for Ozzie. I'm no longer outspoken about it though. I've learned to just live with the fact that he's our manager and he's probably here to stay for a while.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 22, 2011 -> 10:58 AM) Oney tweeted that for anyone who booed him, he'd be out in the parking lot. Like that little twerp is going to scare anyone. He really needs to go away. Its funny, he can say or tweet whatever he wants about anyone, yet the second someone gives him any crap, which he so richly deserves, he has a whole new set of rules. Oney can pop off about the White Sox, but Jenks better not. Oney can call people names and rip them, but no one should say anything about his stale act. And keep in mind, it's a damn ROAST for his old man. Did he NOT think they weren't gonna go after him too? The whole damn family is fair game. Ozzie needs to muzzle this kid or he's gonna wind up costing him a lot of money/perhaps his job eventually.

Both are pretty low risk. Manny obviously more than Damon. I just wonder who winds up in the field?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 21, 2011 -> 02:22 PM) So does Kenny have something up his sleeve for 5pm today? If so, what is it? Bill Melton Brats are being phased out. Karko-sausage will be a plenty.

My bad, didn't see that 2010 part.

2011 HOF is Roberto Alomar and Bert Blyleven.
bschmaranz replied to southsider2k5's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE (Cali @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 01:33 PM) So Alomar goes in with a White Sox hat right? I heard he was just gonna wear John Hirschbeck's hat... -
Bulls success = White Sox payroll?
bschmaranz replied to ChiliIrishHammock24's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Bulls are a damn cash cow. Always have been, always will be. -
Definitely think this is something Soriano's people came up with to scare the big guns of the AL to pony up the dough. This White Sox team is WAY too scary if we were to sign a guy like this to close.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 31, 2010 -> 08:40 PM) Wow. I don't even know where to begin. I'm starting to wonder if you're an 83 year old man that sits on his front porch yelling at kids to get off his lawn. "Twitter? What the heck is that darnfangled Twitter and who the heck even uses it anyway?!" "No, that wiffle ball is mine now!"
