  1. I can't remember which baseball guy on ESPN it was but he said a reasonable contract for Strasburg would be in the $15-25 million range.

  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 31, 2009 -> 02:14 PM) Swing the damn bat. At least this means BA will be back in CF tomorrow. Day too late
  5. I didn't even read the article. I looked at the author's picture and closed the window.
  6. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ May 22, 2009 -> 12:51 PM) With the yearly option to terminate the contract, no way in hell. But under the circumstances of the poll, yeah bring him in.
  7. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 21, 2009 -> 05:12 PM) Why is Peavy a b****? Huh, the man signed a contract to stay with a club and to ensure that he put a no trade clause in place. The guy is one of the premiere picthers in the game, why shouldn't he have a say on where he plays. If he were a free agent, he'd fully have every say in the world so why should he, who signed what was a below market value deal at the time, not have the right to ensure that if the team he wanted to play for decided to trade him that he'd at least be able to dictate where he goes. Every player has preferences and Peavy is a f***ing all star, he has every right to accept or decline a trade, period, end of story. Buehrle signed a home town deal to and to ensure the club couldn't just trade him he put in a NTC and if the Sox wanted to trade Mark than its there job to accomadate him while getting value, not Buehrle's job to bend over and play Mr. Nice guy, he was Mr. Nice guy signing the discount deal. Look I want this to go through as much of the next guy but bottom line its Peavy's right and he earned that by his production, which earned him that clause in the contract. Even if there was only one team he wanted to play for, you know what, that is his f***ing right. Damn you and your logic!
  8. Jake Peavy will now be known as "Meat Curtains".
  9. You need to have multiple Penguins, not just one. If they're alone, they won't eat.
  10. You can tell the Sox game is over when Hawk starts talking about hairpieces.
  11. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ May 21, 2009 -> 02:05 PM) I take it you haven't been to a Sox game this year.... ZING!
  12. I really need to do some work but, can't... stay... away... from.... PEAVYTALK!
  13. I'm gonna start calling Pods "Old Yeller". He needs to be taken out back and "taken care of".
  14. QUOTE (GREEDY @ May 21, 2009 -> 12:52 PM) I read Peavy has two small dogs and is slightly concerned that Bartolo might eat them... understandable. That certainly is a legit concern.
  15. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 21, 2009 -> 11:26 AM) Everyone calm down. We still have Contreras. Thanks, I think a bunch of us needed that.
  16. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 21, 2009 -> 11:04 AM) With that meth who could blame him?
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 21, 2009 -> 11:00 AM) At the end of this thread, Jake Peavy is either going to be the greatest pitcher who ever lived or the biggest tool. Yeah, if this doesn't go down, they're gonna have to hire a security detail for him whenever the Padres are in town.
  18. Can The Score please just take Hampton's microphone away whenever they discuss baseball?
