would YOU start Jones?
Hell, they could start a bag of crap (Joe Borchard comes to mind for some reason) in left and still score 1000+ runs.

And when did Kenny say Danks and Floyd were "top of the rotation" guys? Missed that memo.
Okay, saw it now, hehe.
Danks and Floyd don't worry me as much as Contreras as our #3. They all worry me but we've got who some consider the worst starting pitcher in baseball last season who may or may not be 65 years old in the 3 spot.
Yessir... there are actually useful things on MLB Trade Rumors from time to time. If we had signed Hunter or Jones, I would have liked a Matsui deal, although it'd probably be completely out of question at that point due to financial issues.
Isn't Matsui an absolute butcher in the field now a days? If we had a spot open for a DH, bring him in. Outside of that, we'd need someone in center with amazing range if Matsui and Dye were on the corners.
And he did agree to waive his NTC.
I'm curious why nobody has brought up Randy Winn? Seems like he'd be a solid leadoff CF. I remember reading on MLB Trade Rumors a few weeks back that they were trying to move him before the meetings.
Who knows what we're going to do with Quentin right now. He might just end up being a 4th outfielder. I haven't heard anything to indicate the job in left was his?
I don't know if it's Boras blowing smoke up folks asses but there have been rumors about an elbow injury that limited him at the plate last season. Take it with a grain of salt of course but I suppose it's possible.
I haven't heard any rumors about the Sox talking to him or anything, but apparently the Brewers are going to non-tender him. Am I nuts or would he be a half decent option in left?
.901 OPS against lefties last season.
I would welcome him back with open arms. And hopefully at Soxfest if they do bring him in, he'll leave piles and piles of garbage outside his room again!
Well the Royals are tempting to any Japanese player right now because their manager has been a manager in Japan before. But Will Carroll did say that someone made a big offer and he's signing somewhere tonight.
If that's not our only outfield acquisition, I'm cool with it. So if we bring in Bay or Fukudome or another adequate corner outfielder to go with Lofton, sounds good to me.
