  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 07:39 PM) Is it even worth debating though? Seems like there's no chance he's brought back. I think we'll miss Quentin more than we think. Imagine where the Sox would be had it not been for run production from Konerko and Q in the 1st half and if I remember right Q was hot pretty soon after the ASB. Hopefully if he leaves we have Tank and Ale to pick up the slack and more.
  2. Tyler didn't do anything unusual to get that interference call just a long back swing. Since when can't a hitter follow through on his swing ? He didn't lean into the catcher or anything like that .
  3. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 07:16 PM) Rios is anti-baseball smarts. I think Hawk said Rios initially but it was actually Alexei.
  4. Morel looks like he's letting his hitting carry over to the field lately. I've supported him all year but if that's the case he's pretty useless out there.
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 06:56 PM) Yeah, that was a bad call, especially with the catcher running The way the Twins have been playing yea in hindsight its a bad call but give the Twins credit for finally executing after throwing the ball all over the field the whole game.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 06:48 PM) FYI, Humber didn't do too well in his rehab start. 5 innings, 4 runs I saw that so what's your point ? It's a rehab start after having time off after being cracked in the head by a line drive. He might not be a little bit rusty ?
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 06:43 PM) The Sox all but confirmed they were going to limit his innings as they felt he hit the wall. So what was he doing out there on the mound when he was hit in the head? Selling popcorn ?
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 06:36 PM) Not true, sounds like organization was looking for any reason to limit Humber's innings. Cooper's going to have to make Stewart basically a sinker specialist it seems, which is fine cause it worked well for Garland. Yea any reason being he got hit in the head with a line drive ?
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 06:03 PM) You know what's comical? Kenny traded Hudson last year cause he didn't want to have to count on a young pitcher during a playoff run. So then, he turns around and trades Jackson for a very unknown commodity in Stewart who ends up pitching in some important games down the stretch of this year. Are you really making a fair judgement here ? I'm sure you haven't forgotten that Stewart would be in the minors or in long relief for the Sox if not for the injury to Humber.
  10. Stewart's struck out the 3rd out in each of the 1st 3 innings . Let's get some runs now !
  11. I understand what you're saying about sabotaging the season and many times it has sure looked that way. But if that could be proven it'd be like a ban for life from baseball. I can't in good conscience ever imagine that to be the case.
  12. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 12:19 PM) Ozzie is sandwiching Rios between the Captain and the Tank so he will see some good pitches. With my Ozzie jersey on tonight, I'm pretty sure Rios is going to go 3 for 4 with a dinger. My pick to Click...RIOS!!!! How did that work out last night ?
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 12:00 PM) And is beginning to alienate the fan base. Beginning ??
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 11:24 AM) So what should the usual gag be here? Should we allege that Rios has compromising pictures of someone or that Lillibridge is getting punished? Gotta bench at least one guy who's been playing well lately.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 09:56 AM) Last time I checked, neither the Tigers or White Sox were known for their second half runs. I get that we just swept a god awful Mariners team and won last night against a Twins team that I don't even recognize. But we've seen this movie before. They're going to HAVE to beat Detroit. And when I say that I'm talking a minimum of 5-1 against them and play pretty much lights out against everybody else. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.
  16. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 09:37 AM) I'm not discounting that it can happen, I'm just saying it's highly unlikely and stated my reasons. So, where was the fault? You're raining on my parade !
  17. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 09:18 AM) I'm not discounting that, but all this guy does is scrap and scratch for optimism. And taking 4 of 5 is always a hard thing to do. What's wrong with optimism ? He backs it up with valid points. He gave good examples of reasons for hope. Some of us believe in our team regardless of abundant pessimism.
  18. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 08:31 AM) Their stats say they don't even deserve a spot on the roster. Why are they even on the bench? Their contracts say they do deserve a spot on the bench at least . Not going to eat all that money for all those years. But the same reasoning doesn't say they must continue to get AB's this season while they are very bad and there are better options.
  19. Missed this one in the side bar @ESPNChiSox The Moon called, it has enough craters. They've asked Dayan to stop dropping bombs. #comebackkids @whitesox
