  1. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 17, 2011 -> 05:59 PM) These guys are pissing me off. Alexei pulls it into a Dp now Rios . As sucky as Beckham has been at least he tries to hit it to the right side. And to add to that, If Rios is going to stand so far away from the plate you'd think he likes to hit to right but noooo, he pulls everything.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 17, 2011 -> 05:48 PM) BTW, Dunn is now 0-23 vs lefties this year. Come on Yanks, blow us away with an offer for Dunn and Danks! Shades of Mark Kotsay

  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 14, 2011 -> 05:48 AM) You mean Humber's .213 BABIP is unsustainable? You've got a lot of nerve! His current rate stats are totally flukish and his below average 5.18 K/9 doesn't do anything to mask that. Smoke and mirrors for the most part. As the weather heats up and he starts seeing better offenses, reality will set in. Not that he possibly couldn't be serviceable all year. But trading guys because we have Humber? lol. I'm giving Humber the benefit of the doubt . What point is there in predicting failure especially based on K/9 ? Yes I know when you look at Hall of Fame and very good pitchers in general that they have excellent stuff so they avg close to a K per inning. That doesn't mean you can't have success pitching to contact. There are so many pitchers who grew up with such good stuff overpowering hitters all their life but struggled against majorleaguers . When the lightbulb goes on and they finally figure out that location and keeping hitters off balance mean just as much if not more than great stuff then they become pitchers.
  5. A pitcher is always better who pitches just good enough to win instead of just bad enough to lose.
  6. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 12:42 PM) Best case scenerio is 1 win in this 4 game set. NOOOO best case scenario is 4 out of 4. 0 out of 4 is worst case . 1 and 2 ... well you get the picture.
  7. We still have the interleague games to play.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 01:59 PM) How could he be off with the pitch with a runner on 3rd 2 outs probably meant more off on any contact.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 01:58 PM) Not against 98 mph fastballs. We had a similar discussion last year when he faced Feliz. Sure he could if he got the right pitch but they pitched him away so it wasn't likely. He took the walk. And we had to pin our hopes on Pierre.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 01:54 PM) Not to left field, which is where Omar and Pierre would have likely hit it to. Wells was playing as shallow as Tampa was vs Pierre. Wells has a great arm for a LF. I had more faith in Vizquel , the RF was shading him to center and I've seen Viz pull it to RF many times.
  11. I wanted Teahen to pinch hit but nooo God forbid Oz ever PH for Pierre . Hell as shallow as they play him not sure even with 2 outs if the tying run scores from 2nd on a hit.
  12. Floyd trying to get out of man on 3rd 1 out situation.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 12:08 PM) Hey I played that game before! Maybe Ozzie hasn't. You could teach him .
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 12:05 PM) A dont steal sign? Not sure how that works. Plus getting picked off doesnt have anything to do with signs, its reaction time and recognition by the player. Yea instead of a green light to steal you get a red light.
  15. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 11:58 AM) JP is 2 for 2... With Ozzie ball 2 for 2 has equaled 0 for 2.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 11:54 AM) Getting picked off has nothing to do with anyone other than the player. So you're saying Ozzie won't ever give a don't steal sign ? I find that very hard to believe.
