  1. Tank with a huge bomb today about 4 rows short of the concourse in LF . Estimated distance about 435-450 feet.
  2. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) Do the Twins/Tigs have a tougher Post-ASB schedule than we do? I know we have to play Boston twice but I'm not really worried about them, we're only a game and a half behind them right now... which is crazy when you put it into perspective Also, we don't have to face Cliff Lee ONCE for the rest of the year, sans a Post Season meeting Sox have a big test right after the break with 10 road games against the Twins, Mariners and A's. Though the Mariners and A's seem on the surface to be weak , west coast games have not been kind in recent years.
  3. I've been looking up as many speedy outfielders as I can lately as Pierre seems like a guy who could be replaced. Guys who would look good include Brett Gardner, Andrew McCuthchen, David DeJesus, Chris Young, Dexter Fowler, Carlos Gonzales, Seth Smith (last 3 all in crowded Colorado outfield) which might mean Brad Hawpe would be good to pick up as a DH type though not exactly an impact bat he's better than Kotsay . Trouble is most of theses guys are still on contending teams, though I'm sure I've overlooked a few players Pitching will be much harder to find but with Mark getting hit by a line drive recently and Freddie's always suspect health it might be wiser to somehow find a pitcher. Maybe Kenny can find out if Jarrod Washburn has anything left in the tank .
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 08:20 PM) First place and the Sox are under .500 against AL opponents (34-35), and AL Central opponents (16-17). That'll change for the better, but kind of interesting I think. Huge test right after the AS break with a 10 game road show against Twins, Mariners and A's. West coast games have not been kind to the Sox in recent years and the Sox power on the road has been down.
  5. Also longest winning streak going into the All-Star break in franchise history.
  6. Only the 6th perfect homestand in White Sox history per Bruce Levine . There's one for you Statmandu.
  7. During the seven-game homestand, Quentin was 7 for 13 with six home runs and 11 RBIs. Quentin, who had two home runs in the win on Saturday, had three multihomer games during the homestand. He missed three games because a sore left knee. Per ESPN Chicago. 6 HR in 4 games
  8. What ? No one thinks Teahen will be the left handed bat we need ? The way the team is playing now and with Teahen's eventual return KW should look to include him in a deal. But if not, with Lillibridge being 5-5 as a pinch hitter that really does reduce Kotsay's role a lot more. The problem is everyone's playing well right now, Kotsay included, and it's a beautiful problem .
  9. QUOTE (Soxguy @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 02:04 PM) A Rios bomb and he's hitting .305 at the break and having a career year Most of the things I listed are either 1st time things or rare things . Rios has been great all year .
  10. I guess i could also add Lillibridge 5-5 as a PH and most runs (15) in a single game this season. Was it also the most hits in a game this season ?
  11. Eight in a row. 11 games above .500 highest all year, a grand slam, Andruw's 400th, Tanks 2nd, Gordons 1st 3 hit game of the season , Hudsons 1st start of the season, a sweep of the whole home stand, a Linebrink scoreless inning and 1st place all at the end of the 1st half. WOW !!! Did I miss anything ?
  12. You made it so ! Mad props to Andruw for #400, Rios for giving us the 1st lead of the day, Quentin for his 2 bombs and Tank for his long one !
  13. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 01:42 PM) I ask for a Linebrink 1-2-3 inning. Close. I ask for a Pierzynski triple, he doubles. I ask for Lillibomb, he doubles. I ask for a CQ home run, he gets pinch hit for. All that's left is Threets to allow just one hit in the 9th. But if Threets doesn't pitch the ninth you suck !
  14. Damn you're good !
  15. Oh yea Q doesn't seem to mind DHing for those of you who worried about that.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 01:23 PM) He refuses to listen. Wait til you stumble across his names for Lillibridge and Hudson... I still call him Hollywood but only when talking to myself . On the board I call him Tank because that really is the most fitting name for him. Hollywood is just my Chris Berman name for him.
  17. 15 runs on the board YESSS . The future of the White Sox right there. Tank , Bacon and Bridge.
  18. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 01:18 PM) Should be a 3-hit game for Hot Fire. Screw the scorer who ruled his last AB as an error! It was an error .
  19. Tank's double and HR both off righties !
  20. OK time for me to make a negative comment. Those kids singing God Bless America were bad !!
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 01:09 PM) There have been so many things said this season where the person ultimately got OWNED. Including me. Just about everybody has been owned by this team at some point. You always get pwned
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 01:05 PM) So, is Quentin an acceptable named for a white kid? Of course but if he slumps you'll want to change it .
