  1. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:40 PM) 5.9 in Borrego Springs - shaking like a MF in hollywood I felt it. Nice shake.
  2. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:40 PM) Might've made sense to have him throw more than once though. I'm sure he was on the side. But the Sox play a lot of close games and Bobby just isn't going to pitch anything but the 9th or extra innings.
  3. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:37 PM) And Bobby's control is not there yet. Brilliant Oz. Just brilliant. Like I said he really had no choice who to use. And it's not a 1 run lead . So he has room to work with. Have to start using him sooner or later.
  4. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:33 PM) I assumed he was unavailable tonight. The fact that he's warming tells me he absolutely should have thrown the 7th to save Putz for the 9th. They're pretty careful about how they use Sergio. Still don't think he's pitched in back to back games yet.
  5. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:32 PM) Could have used Sergio in the 7th or 8th and held Matt back. I think Ozzie has actually forgotten lately how good Mr. Santos has been. Sergio pitched last night didn't he ? Has he been in back to back games yet ?
  6. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:29 PM) Well he probably could of thrown Bobby in the 7th, Thornton in the 8th and Putz in the 9th, no? Doubtful he'd mess with roles that much . Booby's a 9th inning dude. Can't even remember if he's ever been in the the 7th inning before. It's pretty important to keep guys in there assigned roles in the BP.
  7. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:25 PM) Ozzie is really gonna throw Bobby tonight in the 9th? REALLY? What other choice does he have ?
  8. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:09 PM) Well, someone said he will likely be manning first base next year and I tend to agree, especially if Teahen is back. It just seemed like there were a few plays tonight that he missed due to poor positioning or recognition of the spin on the ball. I believe working with a HOF infielder could aid his defense tremendously, even if he ends up moving across the diamond next year. Many on the board said the same thing including me about playing 1st base and said it long ago too. But what the hell, he's 21 and with a lot of time to improve I'd like to see him stick at 3rd and see how good he can get . Plenty of time to switch to 1st.
  9. Whoa ho ho it's magic you know.. Never believe it's not so.
  10. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:00 PM) I agree but he needs work at third. I would love to see him hang around and room with Omar Vizquel and Lexi for the rest of the season. I can't make a judgment on him at 3rd yet. Haven't seen him enough. The play tonight he just couldn't get the ball out of his glove. Seen lots of good fielders do that. Don't know how his range is . Seen him range into the hole a few times but he might've been playing way off the line to start. Real strong arm.
  11. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 08:59 PM) Born to hit, that big dude is. And still just a baby. 21 right ?
  12. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 08:50 PM) That was blatant...still doesn't give us our run back though... Can you assume Rios would have hit A HR had Alexei been safe. Might have been a different sequence of pitches. . Bye Bye baseball #399 There's the run back.
  13. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 08:44 PM) Man has Alexei been getting down the line and robbed by umps on these infield choppers. Good s*** Alex! He didn't even throw his arms out in the safe sign like he usually does . Probably since the last time he did that he was called out.
  14. Putz with the longest current scoreless inning streak in the bigs.
  15. I love the fact our starter goes down and we're still in the ball game. Good job Pena.
