  1. Is that a dog ? I could never tell (not that I ever looked til now). Kind of looks like a fox. Although a dog named Fox (rhymes with Sox and Nellie for nostalgia ) might be good. 10 Science-Based Benefits of Having a Dog akc.org https://www.akc.org › Expert Advice › Lifestyle Oct 20, 2020 1. Dogs make us feel less alone 2. Dogs are good for your heart 3. Dogs help you stop stressing out 4. Dogs help us cope with crisis 5. Dogs encourage you to move
  2. In JR's mind they are only dumb because they ignore successful business models for making money ( JR's way) and spend money like crazy to win. Any time JR talks about winning being so important is all BS compared to the way other owners "put up" the cash to back up how important winning is. Message for JR: Put up or shut up.
  3. Hmm 17-3 on Dog Days ? They might want to think about getting some kind of puppy as a mascot and keep it in the clubhouse during games. Dalmation ? (Sox colors ) Black Lab ? Mastiff ? They'd have to name it something cool. One things for sure, they would know the puppy's name before they know their coaches names.
  4. Easy there Tiger. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. 1 game at a time ! Although, the Sox could win the series AND have a 3 game winning streak with a win today and sweep a series for the 1st time and have a 4 game winning streak if they win the final game of the series on Thursday. Those things need to happen at some point this season. Might as well start off May on a high note. ?????
  5. And if you missed it, the last time the Sox had back to back walk off wins was May 1st and 2nd 2019.
  6. SOx got a walk off to break the 10 game losing streak. Now get a walk off to break the no back to back wins streak.
  7. So Colas and Sosa sent down, Anderson. Colome, Alberto, Hamilton and Sammy Peralta added. Kelly after 1 or 2 appearances since he got off the IL now on paternity leave. Romy Gonzalez IL Diekman and Frank German DFAs
  8. I don't know why this would shock anyone. They've been doing it for years. Hell it's what I did the last several off seasons. As Sox fans we always want to compete with the big boys and spend over $100M but that's like asking JR to cut off his right arm. But then JR hates paying for potential so what's that leave the Sox to do? You get veterans hoping for some good years and pay them midrange salaries. Lynn, Kimbrel,Keuchel, Benintendi, Pollock, LaRoche, Dunn, Kelly, Graveman, Samardzija, Shields ; the list is endless. But if as a fan on a message board you start suggesting undervalued players you get blasted for it, "He's not even rated, he's too old." If you post about it enough and post enough info on why you like certain players you still get blasted because even if you list 10 good reasons someone picks out the one that makes the least sense like a good but small sample size MLB stats. There is some reward doing that when you convince a few people that hey maybe that guy is worth a shot but the chances of you actually being right is small so the naysayers play the odds of " he is who he is to this point in his career." But as you now know this is exactly what the Rays do. Their mentality is this kid is more than he appears to be. He is under valued and they may get several guys like that for the guy they are trading so they have 2 times the chance for it to pan out There are people on this board who have been begging for the Sox to do it like the Rays for years . Hahn could've chose that direction for many years during the rebuild but they always wanted to supplement the core with vets which is the same way they became mediocre that led to the rebuild in the 1st place. You could get veterans but also since the Rays way is cheap Hahn could've made many smaller moves trading young veterans who may have maxed out. But better too soon than too late to maximize the potential return. He got Santos for McClure but that's a minor trade. Outside of trading Sale, Quintana and Eaton, Hahn has very little during his tenure of trading youngish vets with a few years left before free agency to replenish the farm. Even if you just trade 1 guy like that per year you're restocking the farm and bringing in young talent year after year. Then when that young talent gives you 2-4 decent years you trade them off too and keep the new fresh talent cycle going so there are always MLB players on the horizon. Of course that requires a lot of good eyes for talent and it's development and we have seen over the years that the Sox don't appear to be good at that either.
  9. Nothing wrong with staying positive. Deep down we know the team's been on a downward trajectory for a while so we wouldn't be fooling ourselves. I like wins and I don't like losses. I can't change anything that's wrong and the rest of the people here have finally seen the light on the deep rooted problems with the franchise so let them spit into the win and state the obvious for me. I'll just shrug off the losses and be happy with the wins without the need to count the grains of sand. Seems like a pretty miserable way to spend time.
  10. Rock bottom yet ? Robert replaces Moncada as most despised/misunderstood/complacent ? 10 run inning after 6 no hit innings ? Don't know your coaches name ? Rock bottom knows no bounds. Tune in for more fun bad today !
  11. He looked pretty damn good his 1st 10-12 starts last year. I don't know why everyone is so quick to write him off.
  12. The title begs the question what exactly is ending tonight ? I can think of much better things to end concerning the Sox than the current losing streak.
  13. LOL Eloy can't even get a hit on a pitch lobbed right down the middle.
  14. He's not exactly killing righties either. Lots of soft contact. He's just been so swing happy and like all MLB swing happy players it's not helping him at all.
  15. Cease ERA creeping up towards 4. Keeping his OF's busy. Nice catches by Colas and Robert.
  16. I don't know how you assess terrible in that particular AB. He's been riding the pine maybe getting drilled on taking more pitches. That particular AB wasn't a good AB to start taking pitches and the one he took for a looking K was 98 on the edge. Still probably not a great idea to put him in against a tough lefty like McClanahan.
  17. It was all doomed the minute they named the field Guaranteed Rate with that blood red sign and down pointing arrow.
