  1. 2 pitches up in a row by Mussina. Paulie couldn't do anything with them.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 07:50 AM) That wasn't the worst, lol...I bought JDS Uniphase at the height of dot.com bubble at around 110 per share...it went up to around 140 when it was added to the S&P 500 Index, and then I rode it all the way down to $2.96 per share. Actually, I don't mind writing it off as a loss...although I will hold onto AIG and maybe something positive will come of it. Maybe Warren Buffett will swoop in and that might help my Berkshire-Hathaway....actually, I think MSDW and Goldman Sachs and many regional banks are getting shorted simply because they are banks, and things will slowly correct over time, although I certainly have little hope for my AIG investment. Thankfully, I don't have more than 100 shares...imagine being a lifetime AIG worker and having your entire retirement tied into that stock and seeing your future eviscerated in a little less than 2 weeks?? I don't think anyone really was out on the forefront and accurately forecasted what was coming with AIG and now the other two Wall Street investment banks. Try Wells Fargo, by far the most stable bank out there.
  3. QUOTE (greasywheels121 @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 04:39 PM) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2FklBE4Itc Dan Jiggets interviews Robin in his Nutty Professor costume at the 2:50 mark in the video. Jiggetts and Frank both with the Arsenio flat top fro.
  4. Greg Hibbard your post was absolutely brilliant.
  5. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 08:53 PM) Where is Adam Russell? I mean if we're doing late year tryouts for RH relief lets get him an extended look. Scoreless outings against TB and BOS amidst some clunkers recently. Has a K-rate, if nothing else. Maybe he's become the Brian Anderson of the pitching staff.
  6. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 09:42 PM) In a manner of speaking, yes Your Cub fan friend is female ???
  7. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Apr 6, 2008 -> 03:49 PM) I have a $50 bet going with my Cub fan friend (who's usually pretty intelligent on baseball and the Sox) that the Sox will finish better than the Royals this year. Have you collected your money yet ?
  8. This thread keeps falling to the second page now that there's a magic number thread. This one got us to where we are now so I'm sticking with this one. Magic # now 9 after Sox lose to Yanks tonight 5-1 wasting a very good start by Clayton Ricard. Tribe manged to hold on and beat the Twins again 6-4.
  9. On the lighter side of things , the same guy that caught the Giambi HR Yesterday caught the 1st HR this inning not the one AROD just hit.
  10. Huge round of applause for Mr. Clayton Richard stepping up !!
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 05:35 PM) Trying for the jinx in the 6th? I realized my mistake right after I hit enter. But he's pitching very well .
  12. Great quality start by Richard. Let him open the 6th and see how it goes.
  13. The Sander's incident is Fisk in a nutshell. Hard-nosed New Englander who had immense respect for the game. Plus we share the same birthday 10 years apart so I always know how old he is.
  14. Sox beat Yanks 6-2 . Stopper Gavin Floyd pitched 7 manly innings. The win was Floyd's 16th of the season which leads the White Sox and 6th win in his last 7 decisions. Twinkies lose in extras 12-9 after the Indians blew an 8-1 lead. Sox increased their lead in the A.L. Central to 2.5 games . Currently 1-1 on final 10 game road trip. 7-7 in September. Paul Konerko back tonight after about a week off from a knee injury had an RBI double. The game also featured Derek Jeter passing Lou Gehrig on the all-time hit list at Yankee Stadium. That record will never be broken since this is the last year for the historic ballpark.
  15. Juan will sign with another team for a big payday since he's a free agent after he becomes World Series MVP.
  16. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 09:54 PM) I'm surprised more people werent impressed with Richard in his starts. Broadway's propensity for the longball we dont need right now. Also NYY has great LH hitting up and down that lineup. I was impressed with Richard, not so much with his stuff but with his poise and command . Its possible he can go 5 innings and give up 3 runs or less. The Yanks aren't impressive against lefties. Richard is the right choice.
  17. QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 08:59 PM) ESPN has Broadway Wednesday. I saw that but I think ESPN just wanted to see Broadway pitch so they could do some clever writing later about the Yankees on Broadway.
  18. Gavin now 9-3 after a Sox loss. He's the stopper. Nuff said.
