QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 09:49 AM) To me, one of the biggest misconceptions held on this board is about Ozuna at 3rd. People seem to assume that because he's terrible in the OF (which he is), and pretty bad at SS (which he is), that he must suck at 3B or 2B - but he doesn't. In fact, I remember in 2005 when he played 3B for Crede for a while, he looked pretty OK over there. Nothing like Crede of course, but passable for a game here or there. He's an OK 3B. Not saying he sucks just saying if your talking about the best defensive team you don't put Ozuna and Ramires both in the infield together.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 09:18 AM) Brian Anderson was seen kicking Guillen's dog this morning. Why not put the best defensive outfield out there you can and DH Dye? Crede in the 5 hole after not doing anything against the same type of pitcher he struggles against???????? I'd have liked to see Ozuna at third, Ramirez at second and Anderson in CF. Having sat through last night's game the pathetic offensive display by certain guys is still lingering I guess. Nice to recommend the best defensive outfield but then you want Ozuna and Ramirez at 3rd and 2nd ?????

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 06:47 PM) Nice, now we all the sudden can't hit a Huston Stree with 4mph off his fastball. When did his slider become the most devastating single pitch in the history of baseball. Jesus. Looked like he kept throwing a nice change up down. A's pitchers must've throw 40 changeups tonight.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 04:15 PM) When's Ozzie going to give Thome a break against LHP? What's the sense of having an on base machine like Swisher being followed by the weak hitting Thome against lefties ? The opening day against Sabathia seems to have cemented into Ozzie's head that Thome should automatically bat 3rd against anyone. Thank goodness Quentin and Crede are picking up the slack.

Strong play by Sox may keep Owens in AAA

QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 08:52 AM) the only problem right now I have with the team is uribe. I'd rather see ramirez play over him, or just some-one else... I cringe everytime he is at bat. Do you cringe every time he turns a double play? So far we don't need his bat but we always need his glove . -

QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 08:56 AM) If there is anything that the team is lacking right now it's speed. I wouldn't mind seeing Owens coming off the bench late in the game as a PR. Also, Ramirez serves no purpose on the bench. He should go down to Charlotte for some seasoning. If all you're going to do is use Frowens as a PR then why bring him up ? Ramirez is just as fast or nearly as fast and hasn't had lingering Pods-like injuries this spring. -
Buehrle went 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA in two starts against Oakland last season, while Vazquez has a career 6.60 ERA against the A's. And the A's are hitting .204 against left-handers this season, which the Sox hope to take advantage of with Buehrle and Danks. The rotation will remain in that order until an April 21 day off, after which Buehrle and Vazquez likely will switch back. Thats for those of you who appear not to have read the article posted and still seem shocked.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 06:57 AM) I hope Quentin gets real hot the next week or so. The Sox have only attempted 1 stolen base in 10 games. I have a feeling Ozzie is dying for a reason to insert Owens after a few rehab games. I say make him a pinch runner. Getting guys on base, then hitting homers works pretty well. Love your sig. Here's something that should give you a giggle.
