  1. Ozzie couldn't find room in the rotation for a guy who just pitched 14+ shutout innings against good hitting teams. That should tell you something.
  2. Leave Pods in at the leadoff spot but the rest of the lineup needs a shakeup. Pods Iguchi Dye Kornerko Rowand Uribe Pierzynski (Everett here against lefties AJ dropped a spot.) Everett Crede
  3. I'm not a big fan of that begging banner. Anything but that.
  4. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 09:57 AM) I don't give a rats ass about the Indians. The Sox need to take care of business. They are in a position where if they handle their business, they don't have to worry about anyone else in the AL. Now get err done Chicago I'm with you Jason. If we're counting on some help from KC and TB we're not gonna get it. The Sox gotta start taking the bull by the horns and win this division. Win some damn games and things will take care of themselves.
  5. Franks ability to play through pain and his recent statement regarding playing 3 more yrs certainly show his love of the game.
  6. The unbridled enthusiasm exhibited in that post was just b****in', totally rad, like so awesome ! God I'm bauling ! Ok OK nuff said peace out .
  7. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that players fall for being setup by these writers. They are so out of touch with reality with their salaries its sickening. If you've got a family of 4 and don't make around $100,000.yr. it's actually quite expensive to attend any sporting event. Tickets, gas, ballpark food, parking etc. take quite a chunk out of a paycheck. Also the Sox fanbase seems to be pretty young. Kids with the energy to travel to the ballpark don't have the cash or are back in school and the people with the cash don't appear to be Sox fans. I would be willing to bet that the avg. Sox fan travels a lot farther to see the Sox play then the avg. Cub fan. Hence more time and money needs to be spent.
  8. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 03:05 PM) wtf...i updated my avatar with a Randy Moss pic (big raider fan). I see it on my PC. Guess it didn't go through?? I see Moss and oh yea Raiders suck. Go Bears !
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) By the way...that commercial with the guy in the laundry room yelling "It's the cycle" when Konerko's up to bat...have other people seen this one...I'm wondering how many people realize the inherent problem with that one. Glad I'm not the only one who caught that. It is pretty funny.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 02:27 PM) I want this kid throwing 7 innings every 5th game starting next year. The last 2 games have at least sold me on that...especially if he works on adding in another pitch in the offseason. I think he's already shown it's not absolutly necessary to add another pitch.
  11. QUOTE(the People's Champ @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 02:34 PM) Back during the Royals futility streak of 19 games I sent in an e-mail asking Hawk and DJ which they thought was harder to do win 20 in a row, which the A's did in '02 or lose 20 in a row. DJ said its always harder to win and Hawk said that they were both very tough to do. I TiVo'd it too, it was weird hearing Hawk say my name on the air, especially since it is so hard for some people to pronounce. I remember that one too, It also seems if you end whatever you ask with "Go Sox" they will read it.
  12. This is being discussed in another thread started by me. And the title also misled me.
  13. Oh damn the "good taste police" cleaned it up before I had a chance to see how f'ed up it was.
  14. If Juan keeps this up the Sox won't have to pursue Rafael Furcal in the offseason unless they are thinking of moving Uribe to 3rd base.
  15. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 03:40 PM) "Paulie you know you were voted down on your suggestion to change the celebration from high 5's to disco."
  16. QUOTE(Reddy @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:11 PM) The jersey name says all that needs to be said.
  17. Oh yeah another thing. We're back to our season high of 34 games above .500 .
  18. Sure why not ? The more positive options you have the better. We have a comfortable lead and if BMac can keep doing what he's done lately it's worth a shot.
  19. Great team win . BMac just outta sight ! There is no I in Team-0 Uribe unstoppable lately. Another Paulie pop !
  20. Maybe BMac's bad outtings earlier led to the Sox getting lowball offers in trade talks, therefore no trades involving BMac. Now it's paying off and if he keeps it up could he be in the playoff rotation?
  21. Oh no everybody toeing the company line . It's worse than I thought .
  22. I hear AJP is staying home too . So Widge will be in the lineup.
  23. This sweep should ease the minds of anyone who was worried about the Indians catching us. And if you're honest ,August scared the hell out of you, myself included. Winning makes me happy and right now I'm smiling ear to ear.
