  11. All right ! I ordered Comcast yesterday since since I'm on light duty and home when I normally would be working. Time to check out our latest phenom . Go BMac.
  12. It's great Iguchi is doing good so far. Most of the time the threads are on Borchard, Harris, Garland and Timo. If sumone's doing good a la Iguchi things are pretty quiet. Reminds me of the Matrix when they say humans define their existence by the amount of misery in their lives. A perfect world would drive us crazy.
  13. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 04:29 AM) Exactly, so what is your point bringing his size into it? His size has nothing to do with "doing things the right way". A 6'5" 230 guy can have the same success as a 5'9" 180 guy. Not doing roids is the right way no matter what your size. I'm not defending steroids at all, just to make that clear. You're original argument was that Frank would be a positive influence at the Congressional hearings , which he would be because he'll speak out against them. But to the kid deciding wether or not to take roids based on who is at the hearings any positive points Frank makes is offset by the fact that is is naturally bigger then your average baseball player. The whole point of taking steroids is to get bigger and stronger , hit more home runs, drive in more runs , get a bigger paycheck. Frank is already big and strong thats why I bring up his size. Smaller success stories are not at these hearings.
  14. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 08:04 PM) I don't see it as being elitest when people are debating who should be the Sox reserve outfielder? But it was the GAME thread ! I was there to see what was going on in the game. Having to wade through the arguments just to get the score every 3 pages was bulls***. Just try to keep to the topic and I'll be happy . I love reading the arguments when they're where they're supposed to be.
  15. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 07:24 PM) You make a good point, but I will say that I think sometimes (trust me-myself included) can come off to casual fans as elitest and intimidate people into avoiding baseball because they don't know enough. I don't believe this anecdote applies to your particular situation, just something to remember. One of point I should make in the interest of accuracy is that The Whiffer Patterson is a much better defender than Pods. Excellent post Punch . I read this board almost every day and yet I cant see myself having thousands of posts about the White Sox. Yes I'm a huge Sox fan have been since i was 10 yrs old 37 yrs ago. I know the team inside and out but, woo boy there are a bunch of argumentative know-it-alls on this website. I swear half of them must fantasize about being the Sox GM. The way they know stats and argue about the tiniest crap amazes me. I mean yesterday's game thread was ruined by guys arguing who's worth more to the Sox Timo or Borchard. Elitist ?? Hell yes!
  16. Thanks Yas . Joel Horlen and Ken Berry (CF) were my favorite Sox players from that 1967 team. I was 9 years old. Reading it brought back a lot a names from those teams that I will always think of as Sox players. I guess we must be sum of the old timers on this website since there hasnt been much interest in this thread. By the way I like your Blackhawk head with the tear . Reminds me of the old TV commercial with the old Native American crying about pollution.
  17. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 04:15 AM) No offense, but IMO this is BS also. I know plenty of sucess stories in MLB that are much smaller than Frank. They did things the right way. No offense but your original argument was about Frank's influence not other players "much smaller then Frank".
  18. Hey Juggy HOLY CRAP man that's in depth. But they main thing is it's optimistic, which I like. Are you a meterologist, a physicist, and a stats geek ? All sounds good to me. Hope does spring eternal.
  19. WOOOOOOOOOOO ! Over 8 million votes for the sucky Pods . Guess I'm in the minority.
