  1. Everyone's playing patti-cake so far with depth pieces . Deadline dud . Prove me wrong.
  2. Which contenders will step up for a big ticket item I hope Fedde is traded soon but he's not considered enough of a big ticket item to set off a surge of buying activity to keep pace with what a rival may be doing to upgrade. Need some chain reaction panic buying to keep up with the Jones'es.
  3. I know you keep trying to hammer this home to me and I'm sure in essence it's correct but I still don't understand why Heyman had that info probably before the All Star game and held it for what 4 -6 days ? It sure got confirmed by enough people after that. But of course no one is saying how they confirm it independent of piggybacking Heymans report. All of a sudden all these different people confirming it now have there own sources that had the same info as Heyman. That a lot of sources popping up. I haven't heard one of them say they talked to Crochet like Heyman did or that they talked to his agent. People in power manipulate the media all the time . Media sources themselves are biased to their own ideologies . The truth is out there .?
  4. According to one poster it should be painfully obvious to all of us that Crochet hates the Sox . If that's the case he couldn't hate them much more than he already does if they stuck him the minors for a month. Do it. He got all that service time while injured and if his pitches are slowing down is an indication he's getting tired then they have every right to demote him to shut him down and regain a year of service time. If Crochet is playing hardball ( and I don't know if that was CAA's plan ) then go for it. He's not the only one that has to protect himself. The Sox would be well within their rights to do it.
  5. This sounds exactly like what I posted .At least I'm not the only one who thinks there's some questionable tactics from high markets teams involved here. I'm hoping to eventually hear or read a statement from Crochet or the Sox.
  6. Another damned if you do and damned if you don't scenario. You have some fans who chose every opportunities to blame Getz for everything. He didn't make the 1st major trade if the off season . He's sitting on his hands. He asking too much . He's in over his head. Then if he makes a trade it would be " Why didn't he wait til closer to the deadline ? Doesn't that idiot know how to pit one team against the other to get their best last minute offers " ??? " He's in over his head !!. Or wow what a terrible trade. Basically the fan base is split between everything the Sox do is bad and some who are slightly more reasonable and only think most of what the Sox do is bad.?
  7. I'd have to try to do some math to figure out how you think going to the pen would decrease his innings more than being an opener. It's never been about the innings with him. It's about sticking with his routine. Being a reliever 2 or 3 times a week getting up and throwing in the pen is way different than his routine between starts. However the chances are and always have been remote either way so I don't see the point of discussing it any more. All we're doing is trying to figure out is ways he could get to and pitch in the post season when the chances of that happening have been and remain nearly nil.
  8. You already recommended he stop throwing right now , stay on his throwing program and said there's a strong possibility he could have issues next year because of his usage this year. I'm having a hard time now with you saying pitching in the post season is a reasonable possibility given your previous statements. It's like you're playing both sides of the fence because of a very slim chance he could pitch as a reliever which we all know he didn't want to do. GMs knew it too so why trade for the guy if you know he's highly unlikely to pitch at all in the post season given everything we heard prior to the Heyman report ? How many GMs do you think would trade for him and say we're going to force you to pitch in the pen if you can still pitch in October which according to your own recommendation shouldn't happen at all but then you say it's not out of the realm of possibilities. I've also said there's a very slim chance he could pitch in the post season if a team used him as an opener for an inning or 2 then ramped him up to more innings to try and get some 5 innings outings out of him in the post season. But that too is highly unlikely. He could stay on his started routine at least that way. I still don't get why any team would purposely want to sabotage their own investment in him by forcing him to do something he clearly thinks is not good for him or trade for him at all given how slim the chances already were of pitching in the postseason in any capacity. There's really only been one way a team could trade for Crochet at the deadline and that would be because they think he can pitch a full season for the next 2 years very cheaply. That's a much more reasonable risk than expecting him to pitch in the post season this year.
  9. That doesn't make it make any more sense. He likely wouldnt have been able to pitch in the postseason anyway. Every GM out there knew what we all knew that Crochet's chances of pitching in the post season 99% not happening. Getting an extension wouldn't improve the health of his arm. There's something off about this whole thing.
  10. Tell me this then. Heyman said he talked to Crochet at the All Star break. If he had that info why did he not report it nearly a week ago. Why hold onto the info till yesterday ? Crochet being hard to move was no mystery to me because of the likelihood of not being able to pitch in the post season plus the high price. It's not like all the other GMs couldn't figure that out too. I don't know why it's suddenly dawned on posters here that's it's as true now as it's ever been.
  11. He might but right now we have no idea if the Sox would ever make an offer like that.More likely they wouldn't given JRs history on pitching contracts and his recent behavior regarding the Sox. The whole issue is a mystery .
  12. Why would it ? Fedde has innings under his belt and should be able to pitch in the post season. I don't know what else Fedde can do at this point to be considered any more valuable. He's getting out the best hitters in the world . This isn't some kind of trick.
  13. It doesn't make sense at all but I'm not particularly shocked that so many actually think Crochet is sabotaging the Sox and pulling some kind of power play. Heymans always been a Yankees shill. Keep him off the market to potentially kill any chance of pitching against you is good strategy especially if you can turn Sox fans against Crochet because right now they believe everything bad about the Sox . Get the common man across the nation to rise up and say who the f*** does Crochet think he is . Sure Heyman also said hey I don't blame Crochet for making a demand like that. Gee thanks Jon the damage is already done. Hey Garrett Jon Heyman is on your side while effectively hoping to destroy your tradability.
  14. I think you're right. Unfortunately he has red flags.Teams may want to see if he can once again be dominant in 2025 and see if he can bounce back. That will diminish a lot of concerns and 2 seasons of post season without restrictions shouldn't diminish his worth that much. Sox could try again to extend him but that still depends on how they limit him in the 2nd half. Some think he's already losing some FB velocity his last 3 starts. It's hearsay at this point. I haven't seen any pitch graphics to substantiate it yet. Anything can happen including a trade at the upcoming deadline.
  15. Maybe I'm paranoid but the extension at high dollars guys seemed a lot louder that I was crazy ?and that $20M per year was a pittance. Buy out his Arb years and extend him another 2-3 years.
  16. That's been my argument. Given the choice to start pitching in the majors right away an help the team he took it. Even if he had done everything some fans wanted the odds were he would've got hurt any way. He was a different guy physically then. He's much bigger and stronger than he was back then but that still doesn't mean he's immune from injury if he keeps pitching . He may be a unicorn for what he done already physically this season but he not Superman.
  17. This I can agree with even if it's been 3+ months, April May June and part of July. I said many times to those saying extend him that it would be fiscally irresponsible given his track record. It easily could turn into an albatross contract . I've repeated it so much that people eventually started agreeing that you should trade him while you can . I've seen one poster advocating for his extension in the $90M range now changng his tune and saying the complete opposite. Typical follow the popular opinion take as long as others have your back and don't call you out about your sudden about face.
  18. Or you and many others believe that this report is some kind of power play by Crochet when it may not be. I'm giving Crochet the benefit of the doubt. How could he possibly believe he can pitch in the post season if he doesn't even know if he can keep pitching . He can't be that unaware of how things usually work coming back from major arm surgery without a previous workload to support so many innings. It makes no sense whatsoever. It's one thing to believe in yourself and crazy to think you will be the one exception to the limits of human endurance.
  19. Guess we'll have to agree to disagree. He isn't a slave to what any team Doctors says . He's entitled to get 2nd opinions. I think you're way out on a limb here. That scenario isn't going to happen . It's all conspiracy hypotheticals dealing with player health .No team physicians is going to say Crochet is not at risk due to his current and previous workload. It's so painfully obvious he's at high risk already and inuncharted waters of endurance.
  20. But a team still has to meet the asking price. And if he is traded will you think he had worked out an extension already ?
  21. There are many many Doctors out there who would say he is already beyond the point of reasonable risk factors given his current and previous workloads and that continuing to pitch is likely to result in injury that not only threatens the remaining 2024 season but his whole career.
  22. I thought you understood by now that I don't trust that report . It's not like it came directly from Crochet in a televised or even a written interview quoting him or his agent. Heyman said that's what Crochet told him at the All Star break. He could have misunderstood his meaning. You d think there would followup questions to explore beyond that. It doesn't sound like something you say casually. I need more context.
