  1. They have to win the division outright. They won't be winning any tiebreakers.
  2. To be fair he could have been rusty from the time off but Cairo said ,when asked, if Robert was 100% , "It's September , no one is 100%". He made contact but nothing solid but as I said I'd like to take a look at how he does in another start and then go from there. I know having him in the lineup helps defensively and adds speed but he has to contribute offensively too especially if Cairo decides to keep using Grandal in the middle of the order and sticks Moncada's weak bat back at 3rd. If the Sox are going to win the division they need offensive help badly. P.S. Free Colas !
  3. This might help .https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/disabled-list/cumulative-team/ you can sort it a number of ways . Interesting Covid 19 is the injury that has affected the most players on the list.
  4. The Mariners were hot and the Sox beat them in their own house. Wasn't pretty but it was a win. However can't keep it up if the bats are going to be the same as they have been all year. Free Colas and leave Romy in . Keep Grandal and Moncada out of the lineup. Give Robert another start but if he looks the same as he did last night he's no help either. If you look at the AL records since June 1st, July 1st and August 1st the Mariners have the best record no matter which starting date you choose so that's a 3 month run of dominance.
  5. See you always go off the rails on a rant. I asked you a simple question and all you can come up with is your personal opinion of Hahn and your idea of common sense which contradicts anything printed from the media. Hahn "demanding" Kelly start is a huge leap from Cairo, Katz and the front office making that decision together. Common sense does not allow that much of a leap.Common sense does not extent to Hahn making on field decisions especially with some of the things we've heard all season about TLR being the driving force behind some acquisitions. I don't let my personal grudges get in the way of an impartial thought process. If I have to stick up for Hahn in one instance out of 100 where your imagination and bias gets the better of you so be it. That does not make him my boy. Hahn blows. He is the driving force that has derailed any chance at a championship or sustained success with his terrible moves. JR and TLR are a very close second.
  6. According to a Soxtalk member who arrived early enough to watch BP a few days ago Moncada looked like crap during BP while Romy looked great. Let's face it Harrison is a better hitter than Moncada now. Moncada should be on the bench for late pinch hitting duties since he seems to have a penchant for delivering late RBI's and defense. He shouldn't be getting many starts. Grandal can't even catch the ball . That last 5 or so games at catcher the ball is just bouncing out of his glove all the time on good pitches too. If I've seen it once I've seen it half a dozen times.I have no idea why any manager would put him in the middle of the order or have him catch. IF he plays he should bat 9th. Robert is getting to be as frustrating a player as Eloy, Moncada and Grandal. I really hope Anderson can come back strong as well as Kopech . Asking for Bummer to actually throw strikes and do well might be asking too much. P.S. Bring up Colas. Still need a decent OFer and good bat from the left side. Stick him in CF if Robert can't hit. It's disgusting to watch Vaughn and Sheets in the OF so much. As much as the division is ripe for thee taking I'd like to see someone in upper management take a friggin' chance on Colas and keep Romy playing every day. Need their power badly.
  7. While at the moment it happened I thought he could be icing Cease but a few minutes later I thought ,well he took out some of his regulars against Cease thereby seemingly making it easier to pitch a no hitter so why can't he save some arms for upcoming games and put in a position player ? At that point it's all about winning future games which is his job as manager instead of chasing the unlikely outcome of winning the current game. He also won the next game using 4 relievers who only gave up 1 run in 4 innings so I think he was successful. He also had the upcoming games with the Yankees to think about. So I'm siding with you on this one. From a purely baseball and winning games perspective Baldelli did nothing wrong.
  8. Come on if this is ruled against the Sox baseball is fucked. Out by a mile perfect throw. Just because the throw brings the catcher where he's supposed to be doesn't mean its blocking the plate.
  9. Gio can't keep falling behind. The Twins are hitting some shots of him and the luck won't continue.
  10. 2nd time Bundy got a swing and miss way out of the zone on a slider. Really thought Vaughn would deliver but let a high curve go by for a strike then swung through 89 MPH and K'd on the slider way out of the zone.
  11. Nothing has indicated to me the Sox will score this inning but the time is now !
  12. Looks like we're up there taking the 1st couple of pitches. But you're right the 88 MPH pitch down the middle on the 1st pitch looks like a get me over knowing the Sox are taking.
  13. Too bad the Cubs were asking for an arm and a leg for Happ. He's been doing great since the trade deadline. They probably wouldn't budge off of wanting Colas. Odd now that when Colas might be able to help the Sox we get Payton and Haseley instead. Guess they don't want to bench Sheets who's been one of their best hitters for 2 months but Colas could be in CF or LF also especially since Pollock is so much better against LHP. Not enough spots too rotate between 1st base, RF,LF, CF, DH and utility guy between Eloy, Vaughn, Sheets, Abreu, Pollock, Colas, Leury and Robert when he's capable of hitting again. But the bench would appear to be much more powerful every day especially in pinch hitting and extra innings personnel if you have Moncada, Pollock, Colas or Sheets not starting. No one would miss Haseley, Payton, and Engel. Unfortunately Leury seems to be a necessary piece. But he can be used a lot less.
  14. You're going to have to show me where someone besides you said Hahn demanded starting Kelly. I think Hahn is a boob but let's stick to the facts shall we ? I remember a Vinny Duber tweet that said Cairo, Katz and the front office all agreed on starting Kelly. Do you have something that can contradict that ?
