  1. Let's get some runs ! (and not have anyone thrown out on the bases)
  2. One thing the Sox must do is break the habit of losing the opening game at home and then trying to recover. Win game one and put some pressure on the Twins and go from there. Not that Kelly is an awe inspiring choice for starter and without Eloy, Robert, and Moncada. Up hill battle for sure.
  3. Does maternity leave and Eloy's latest ouchie count ? We got Payton, Haseley and Engel to back up Sheets , Vaughn, Pollock, Leury. Colas might be the only one who actually is a good hitter and a good fielder among those 7 guys. Of course some are AAA , some AAAA and MLB guys and Colas is a 167 PA AA guy so we don't know who he can actually out hit at this point . But I'd be willing to try since he would be facing mostly RHP and he can actually hit LHP too.
  4. Actually want him promoted to AAA now and the Sox Sept. 15th if the Sox are still in the hunt.
  5. IKR especially losing what was it , 10 of 12 ? Still under .500 and yet 4 games out. If they had managed to get Ian Happ at the deadline, he could've helped win a few games with his 6 August HR's and 10 doubles among his 30 hits while the Sox couldn't hit a HR for about week straight. Management just turned their backs on the Sox. Jerry said "umm no Rick you haven't exactly done much with the money I've given you to spend lately". This does not bode well for the future of Mr. Hahn IF JR said enough is enough. Promote Colas to the show. I don't care if he doesn't do well. At least he might stop whining about being a slave. Or he might just feel appreciated and needed and kick some Guardians and Twins ass. Oh yeah Sox won 7-1. 2 wins in a row. Sox finished August with a mini flurry of HR's , 7 in 3 games. Vaughn and Pollock hit them yesterday and Cueto pitched well for 5.1 innings and 4 relievers gave up nothing the rest of the way. Sweep the Twins and we're back in it for sure.
  6. That's possible too, even likely, but if you or any other fans still wants the Sox to win the Central they need another LHH , good defense OF'er and he is both, regardless of how he might perform after a long season and facing the good pitching of Cleveland. I think Colas might perform best when he feels as if his talent is needed and appreciated.
  7. More hope that Colas will be going to Charlotte with Haseley and Payton ( if true) on the Sox. No reason not to promote Colas when Rutherford, Adolfo, Payton and Rutherford are likely guys not even to be in the Sox system next year.
  8. I'm still trying to convince myself that Colas will be promoted to Charlotte very soon and if he does well and the Sox can make up a little ground in the Central , have Colas in the Sox lineup by Sept.15 when they play the Guardians and Twins and their many RHP . Starting Sept. 15 they play the Guardians or Twins 10 of their final 19 games with 6 games with the Tigers and 3 with the Padres. Sox have to make some hay now against the Twins. I really hate facing Twins and Indians because they can throw so many LHH against the Sox RHP while the Sox cannot do the same to them. The main guy I wanted at the trade deadline, Ian Happ, had a really good August .275. 319 .532 .851. . Those numbers would've came in real handy on the Sox in August and in upcoming games against the Twins and Indians for the rest of the season.
  9. I'd really like to see Colas promoted to AAA now. Let's face it Payton is 30, Adolfo is only on the 40 by the hair of his chiny-chin-chin. Rutherford is practically as big a non entity as Adolfo and Payton. I hate to think that Colas get's in his own head when he feel's like things are moving too slowly and his play suffers. But that's how I am thinking. Promote him and let him get re- energized. If he does well bring him up to the Sox if in 2 weeks they are still in the playoff hunt. Shoot for a Sept 15 MLB debut when they play 4 of 7 games against the Guardians and their plethora of RHP. I really wish he was coming up now against the Twins but I don't see the Sox skipping AAA with him. Give him a couple days off for rest before promoting him to AAA and tell him if he does well he may get to play in a pennant race with the Sox. Have him in Charlotte by Monday.
  10. Your best case scenario only means massive changes in your head as if this season or how Hahn, Menechino and TLR have already fucked things up hasn't mattered so fucking up even more should matter ? Losers want to lose. The players on the field want to win. I'm amazed that so many want to lose yet I never see anyone cheering the bad play in the game threads. I'd rather hope for many good things to happen on the field like everyone staying healthy and playing well. I'd love to see Romy Gonzalez look great, Eloy continue his health and good hitting, more Gavin , Abreu, and Vaughn bombs. I want to see Moncada finish like he remembers how to hit and Gio how to pitch. I want Cease's last starts to be so good he wins the Cy Young. I want Cueto to finish strong. I want everyone who looks like dead money to up their trade value.
  11. You asked who cares? Guess what? People care about the Sox . Winner's threads are to celebrate things that go well. Cheering for losses means you are cheering for the current players to do bad. I know others want to lose because it'll maybe get TLR and Hahn and all those who should've been fired long ago fired. I want the players to do good. Finishing strong will make players worth more in trades and trades may be the only way to fix the mess the team is in. Major league players are worth more than unknown draft picks. If Grandal can finish strong I get some hope that while he may not be a very good MLB player any more he might not be a total waste of money. If Eloy doesn't get injured the rest of the season I can hope he might do that for a whole season next year.
  12. SO your boredom includes shitting on those of us who still like watching our team win or the simple pleasure a dying man (not me) derives from watching his team and reminiscing about the pleasure baseball has brought him. Classy.
  13. Sox snap a 5 game losing streak with a 4-1 win vs. the Royals at home. Lance Lynn pitched 7 strong innings. Pollock and Andrus hit HR's.
