  1. That's about as much negative as you're going to get from TV talking heads who work for MLB. They can criticize the group collectively but they won't get into individualizing aspects of the team. Too many people's feelings get hurt, gets too personal, owners get angry , your reporting access gets pulled or you just get fired and replaced by those who will stick to not being overly critical. As fans, we can individualize or put the blame on certain people but that's a big no-no when you're doing TV on the MLB Network because it's too speculative . Plus the elephant in the room is that the MLB Network is run by MLB Advanced Media and it's basically all 30 league owners in charge of it.
  2. Sox are going to be in the same spot next season. Maybe without LaRussa though if that's any consolation . They'd need an incredible run of good health and a starting pitcher good enough to replace Cueto and a way to figure out how toreduce salary while getting better players. If Hahn is still here good luck with that. Even if Hahn gets fired a new GM inherits a big headache and an uncertain direction.
  3. I give it 50/50 no matter what happens the rest of the way.Sox aren't making the playoffs .
  4. For that to be true we'd have to be better than them. We are not, at least without Anderson, Robert and Jimenez in the lineup .
  5. You're a good fan . No need for deep sadness . Every season but 2005 in the last 100+ years ends in sadness. There may be happier moments along the way but ultimately unless you win it all that's what you have to look forward to every year. Be happy with other things in your life. Keep sadness and stress at a minimum. You'll live longer .
  6. When you pinch hit the object usually is to bat a better hitter than the one scheduled . Anything else is hogwash. Seby's OBP his last 11 games was .474. TLR doesn't even know who's hot on his own team. Sheets and Jimenez were basically the only 2 better hitters than Seby in the last 2 weeks. That's sad to say but true.
  7. I keep thinking Mieses may end up the best hitter in the organization.
  8. Maybe it was sealed anyway or maybe it wasn't . You have hope the guys who got the Sox into the mess will get them out of it. That hope has the same chance as hoping the Sox make the playoffs. All I keep hearing from half of you that Menechino will be the fall guy but I hope your hope is rewarded.
  9. What greater good ?All you can do is hope that the Sox make moves and that the moves they make will help. Those are 2 things they have a chance of screwing up. If they wanted to do a rebuild right they would've made those moves before the rebuild started.
  10. I'm having a hrd time reconciling the fans here wanting to lose and the comments about the TLR moves. Shouldn't you want Leury to pinch hit ? You should be cheering that move. right ?
  11. Perez looked crossed up the way he put his bare hand up there too
  12. I was just thinking SHeets hadn't hit a HR in a while but didn't think I could get my thought into a post before he hit a fair ball. But he extended the AB longer than I thought.
  13. It was never his favorite sport though. A love for the game itself may not be especially important to doing well but I wouldn't discount it either.
  14. LOL I could've taken a much lower road. I chose the high road.
  15. Right, knowing when to cut your losses is key to moving on. If he hits well somewhere else , great that team can pay him. Knowing the Sox they will hang onto him rather than trade him and eat some money which they may have to do if they trade him. Of course this may apply to others too.
  16. Was watching Robert swing the bat basically with 1 hand and funny thing was I liked some of his swings better. He looked like he really let loose on some of those swings.
