Individuals being so different has a lot to do with it. Teach the same grip, same arm angle, same mechanics but lots more goes into it. Like a change up some guys can throw it and others can't. Pressure points with different length fingers, how hard you grip it it, torque from how your wrist snaps, length of your arm and stride. Biomechanics is supposed to help with that stuff but we don't even know how sophisticated the Sox are compared to other teams. Plus Cease build up his innings took a few years to get where he is now. Kopech brand new starter in MLB.

Makes you wonder if the Sox even scouted those 8 games or even how he looked in the minors or just did whatever the Sox did back then . If the W.Sox really wanted Devers instead but the R.Sox said no then they should have insisted the 3rd and 4th pieces be better. That way you might force the R.Sox hand and see just how badly they wanted to get rid of him. Like why are you wiling to give up Moncada but not Devers ? I don't know what Devers rank was at the time but there are ways to smell a rat in negotiations if you are shrewd enough and have some street savvy to go along with the Degrees.

No one close except Burger or Zach Remillard who will never be called up to replace Moncada. He's 28 never been in the bigs, decent year at Charlotte . Jack of all trades inf. guy mostly 3rd, SS, 2nd , little LF and very little RF ,RH, not much power, organizational guy, whole career with the Sox so far after being drafted.

Good at walks and fielding which helped his fWar and OPS a lot. Despite the 15 Hr's he was still under .400 slugging for most of the year until a September push got it above .400. Now he's only good at fielding, walk rate down , K's up, ISO and pretty much all offensive categories all down dramatically. Right now he's a -8.7 offensive fWar. Yas is even worse -14.9 offensive fWar. To give you a little perspective while he was here, Reese McGuire was -9.2 offensive fWar .

Quintana would've been good for pairing with Kopech because he throws LH . When you pair pitchers up you usually want to go with someone who throws with the opposite hand than the starter . So if the lineup is loaded with LHH they then have to face a LHP and it may force the opposing manager to make some early changes. VV or Lopez are not ideal for that situation. Plus Reylo, whenever we see him again, is now a late inning guy.

I like adding digital movies . Recently got Bad Mom's Christmas for free. Was actually funny. Everything Everywhere All at Once I liked. Morbius eh, Doctor Strange MOM liked it but I think watching WandaVision on Disney+ helped. Spiderman No Way Home loved it. I'm a sucker for bringing back all the old Villians and old Spidermans in the same way I was thrilled with Ghostbusters Afterlife.

Need Sheets at home. He's the best hitter on the Sox wRC+ at home against RHP. Probably not even close but I haven't looked up all the others . Shouldn't play at all on the road. Grandal playing anywhere now is highly questionable. Only Abreu, Eloy , Robert ,Vaughn and ANderson should be in lineup every day but the whole Eloy, Vaughn, Abreu situation disrupts that to a degree. Pollock sure against LHP. questionable against RHP. It's always tough in games for Vaughn and Sheets in the OF when the ball finds you too much.

Plus as you told me earlier , he signed with the Reds for $700K this year. So the Padres have to pay him around $300K the rest of the year. That along with the young SS they gave up seems to be right up the Sox alley. Missing on him is inexcusable . But hey can't pay $300K or trade away an ACL player for a 20 HR guy who hits RH, plays mostly 3rd and 2nd base and a little OF and 1st base when we have Moncada, Leury and Harrison to play almost every dayand the lineup already filled with a couple of guys with 10+ HR's.
