I heard on Locked on White Sox who quoted Larson in an interview from someone else that he got a little over slot. Slot was $1.2 and he'll get around $1.4M.

There is a clear difference in his play over the past 10 days 2 weeks. Early on after he came back he wasn't hitting good but was hitting for power and taking walks and being cautious on the bases. Lately the hit tool has showed up , he's making diving catches, generally being his La Pantera persona defensively and stealing bases. If the Sox get really lucky before the deadline, BA, OBP, and Slg will all show up at once. We may not like it but coming back from another hip injury his progress is under a week by week microscope looking for any signs of permanent damage.

Re: Smith and Larson is a cutter typically a pitch taught at the MLB ? FB/slider seems to be dominant with those 2 guys. Sox seem to like teaching cutter,CU, curve. Just my general impression. Haven't dove into it.

Reality is pitching is a strength of the organization now with Bannister around so it's possible they are killing 2 birds with 1 stone here. Plus never can have enough pitching with it being so in demand at trade deadline's. It also can be a position of strength in which to trade from if Getz starts trading MILB pitcher's for MiLB hitters. Maybe instead of spreading themselves so thin trying to fix so much at once they are building a foundation of strength in one area to start .
