  1. Look I've 100% supported the Fire Tony chants and the booing a few times in my posts and I didn't take it personally. I don't think booing is politically incorrect at a sporting event and some people may just be holier than others or may believe that "manners maketh man." Harry Hart : [Quoting Ernest Hemingway] There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self. Harry Hart : [Quoting William Horman] "Manners maketh man." Do you know what that means? Then let me teach you a lesson. I suppose the poster could have phrased it better and said it isn't polite or mannerly. https://medium.com/@jannikdrescher/manners-maketh-man-620f702ae86f
  2. Even if we think Hahn is operating with 1 hand tied behind his back because of JR, the buck does stop with Hahn for the many.many recent blunders ,even if those decisions were based on internal discussions on what to do in the off season and at the trade deadline last year. It is unfortunate that there have been so many injuries and underwhelming performances that could've made this season better. However we got a glimpse into how this season would go with how the Sox performed in the 2nd half last year.
  3. I'm sorry but it does apply even if we don't want it to. Look at how Kimbrel pitched for the Sox, but he basically sucked in any situation the Sox put him in but it was mostly "hold" and not "save" situations.
  4. I went through an old thread announcing the Sox decision not to extend Rodon the QO since he just passed the innings limit to become a FA again next season. Likely the Giants extend him a QO and now they will get a draft pick for him if that's still allowed under the new CBA . I didn't post in it to draw anyone's attention to it. You were not the only one I gave laugh emoji's to. I think I gave likes , fires, loves and laugh and maybe a TLR to about 25-30 posts . To people who gave the FO the benefit of the doubt I gave the laugh emoji. I don't think that was cruel of me. It was more like a teacher handing out an F since there isn't another way to show that u disagree with a post besides the laugh emoji which also doubles for when you think something is actually funny. I also passed out many loves and likes to Balta , Ray Ray, Hi8is and a few others who were spot on. Balta in particular was upset with you in that thread because he felt you were personally attacking him for his takes, many of which were correct, so yea I though you deserved a couple of laugh emojis. You where the only one with thin enough skin to "retaliate" for my laughs and go back into my old posts from 2005 and laugh at a few of my old posts, one in which I stuck up for Willy Harris and another one in which I stuck up for a Guardians fan who invaded Soxtalk who ended up being banned because he didn't back down from all the abuse he took.
  5. Would make people happy but the team would stay the same. The same oafs in the OF, the same relief pitchers the same overly RH hittering roster that can't hit RHP and then it's on whoever else is on the field but we all know where the real blame lies. Start with JR and work your way down.
  6. No they aren't and I said as much but some kinder gentler soul might think it's classless and they are entitled to their opinion and going against popular cutthroat sports opinions doesn't make you a halfwit. TLR is in the shit rolls downhill position. The shit at the top of the hill is way more deserving of scorn .
  7. Considering how he's done in those 7 games coming off an injury. I'm pretty pleased with how he pitched. I didn't like Hendricks pitching the 1st game in a non save situation when he's been pitching so well in save situations but that wasn't a bad call by TLR.
  8. Yikes the venom is real. Is a person in today's society really a halfwit because he wants people to treat each other better ? I disagreed with the guy in the game thread but only because I think the Sox deserve the same scorn they show the fans. Maybe the real halfwits are the ones who take all this a wee bit too seriously and can't think rationally and put things in perspective.
  9. Basically at this point TLR can't do anything right. He pulls Lynn after 6 innings and he's a bum. He leaves him in too long and he's a bum. A relief pitcher wets the bed and he's a bum.Yet Lynn looked great and perhaps taking him out is part of a new plan to keep him pitching better. His fastball looked much better after the rest from the All-Star break so maybe it's now about keeping his arm fresher. Maybe even Lynn said hey skip , I'm done. People wanted Lopez but when Lopez came in he gave up a couple hits and gave up a run too. Kelly's looked good maybe 5 or 6 outings in a row but I'm sure the next time TLR brings him in in a close game and he pitchers bad that'll be on TLR too. The bullpen has been pretty good lately yet every day everyone wants perfection because our hitters can't hit. There's a lot blame to throw around ,not just TLR, and as always it starts at the top.
  10. Don't understand this. Players salaries dwarf today's workers. Anyone who pays to go to a baseball game is shelling out big money. Fans has a right to express their disappointment in an organization that has continuously showed it's disdain for their fans. Fans are just showing their disdain in return. Good organizations with good GM's have gotten a World Series victory out of rebuilds. Hahn talked about multiple championships and sustained success. Our owner and GM gives us a .500 team.
  11. That wasn't hyperbole it was the truth. Naming a single guy in a 100+ years of Sox history doesn't change the fact. Baines might be the only left handed hitter HOFer in their history to have started his career with the Sox.
  12. Almost every GM in the history of the Sox hasn't figured out how to get good LH hitters. Every single one of them combined has produced the worst LHH's in baseball history.
  13. I'm not blaming Liam he's a great pitcher . He's going to give up runs every so often and hadn't given up an earned run in a while. I'm also not blaming LaRussa. I'm just being this:
  14. No, not a wrong choice because he's a very good pitcher but to me its like messing with someone hitting streak by pinch hitting them .
  15. Sure but he's been on a streak lately. You don't mess with a streak even if he's needed in a non save situation. Just let him keep doing what he does best.
  16. Hendricks pitches great in save situations lately so you mess with that by bringing him into a non save situation . Genius ! Cleveland rubbing it in, taking extra bases , stealing , telling the Sox we are better than you and we will prove it.
  17. You forgot a few things First of all he got a tired arm because he basically had not pitched the previous 2 years. In order throw innings you have to have build up endurance in your arm . Him not pitching much in the 2nd half was due to being tired due to lick of innings the previous 2 years. So he ends up throwing more inning in 2021 which builds up endurance to pitch more innings in 2022. This is how pitching works.
  18. Or maybe because he had faith in the Sox front office in the off season
  19. I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am, let's face it. Marlon Brando as Terry Malloy - On the Waterfront (1954)
  20. Would be shocked if the Giants traded him. Once again Rick Hahn's prowess as GM rears it's ugly head. No Qualifying Offer to Rodon.. check. No draft pick for Sox .. check. Makes it easier for another team to sign Rodon.. check. Sox don't sign Rodon... check. Giant's put innings pitched qualifier in his contract that he easily reaches but based on his medicals Hahn lets him walk ... check. Now that Rodon can be a FA next year Giants can get a draft pick for him when they undoubtedly will offer him a QO (barring a big injury) because Hahn thought he might accept the QO and Sox would be stuck with him ... check.
  21. Sox gonna Sox. White Sox and learning ha, good one !
  22. Well I knew he was having trouble on flyballs and I was watching the game and after the granny I saw Robert blinking his eyes and I thought somethings not right with him. Then next day after he walked they took him out of the game so I immediately thought vertigo and posted it in the game thread based on his fielding and the eye blinking. So then I looked for the replay on youtube. I'm no doctor but that's the 1st thing that popped into my head.
  23. That has to be pretty hard to do.
  24. That's part of the reason why in the game thread I was the 1st one to say vertigo. It might be exacerbated by him looking up while running and there was one moment in the dugout after the grand slam where Luis blinking eyes like he couldn't focus which seemed out of character for a guy who just hit a granny . It's from 36 second through 40 second mark in the video.
