  1. Pollock is 34 and more important to the Sox than Haseley. Why not let the guy who has barely played get an AB and prevent a potential injury to Pollock.
  2. Because it's a big lead and you're getting a player out who can give the last guy on the bench a shot.
  3. It's his job to get to 3rd there when your awareness is that Tim will be tagged out. Not very often does a runner in a rundown between 3rd and home not get tagged out. Vaughn was doing his job there going as far as he could towards third until he saw Tim was going to make it back when no one was covering third. At that point he's left in nowhere land and hung out to dry.
  4. Pederson kicked that Sheets double around a bit too. Sheets is Pederson's kryptonite.
  5. If true , interesting. Joe also created his own webpage josephkellyjr.com when he was a Dodger.
  6. Of course I did.But I'm not going to repeat them. He pulled himself out of his very 1st game of his 1st rehab assignment on May 28th. They sat him until June 1st then he played 5 games betweeh the 1st and the 7th of JUne . Then they shut him down for 2 weeks .It's semantics to say he didn't reinjured himself. He wasn't up to playing ok? Is that better ? Twice once on 5/28 and next time after the June 7th game.Today looks like the 1st time he played a full game in the OF. Is there a possibility of him coming back Monday ? Sure I guess so and you hedge your bet by saying Thursday. But you say if it isn't Monday the Sox are stupid to wait as if you know more about the situation than them. It's pretty arrogant. What difference does Moncada's time frame make? Not the same injury not the same player. I'll take a wild guess and say he doesn't play tomorrow after his 1st full game in the OF and the Sox will make sure he can at least play 2 or 3 games in a row before they bring him back either end of next week or next Monday the 11th. But I admit I'm guessing because I don't know anything except for what happened in his 1st rehab assignment, how long it took him to start his 2nd rehab assignment and how much they have played him in the OF and at DH so far. You could be right or I could be right or we both could be wrong. They start a 7 game stretch against the Guardians and Twins starting on the 11th. The All Star beak starts the 18th and they resume play on the 22nd against the Guardians again. Don't be embarrassed for me that I took the time to research and observe the full situation far closer than you did.
  7. So you're going to play some kind of mysterious you're in the know somehow game here . Is that it ? I give you details on why it doesn't seem plausible he'll be activated Monday and that's all you got ? Of course the people who play that card also never reveal anything and then can claim later that you never knew anyone who gives you inside info . Or you can say you know someone but they were wrong thus making you wrong. How convenient to have a way out or an excuse to never actually be wrong based on your own opinion. .Some of us take chances doing by trying to use all the facts we can gather and coming to a semi informed opinion.
  8. SO the Sox are stupid if they decide he needs more rehab even though we are way past the 6-8 weeks his injury was supposed to take and he already hurt himself once trying to come back early and before his current rehab assignment started he had another week off. Before tonight he's only had 13 innings in LF in his 2nd rehab assignment. How in heavens name can you convince yourself he'll be ready Monday and think the Sox are stupid to give him more time when you aren't even close to the situation or directly involved in his health care ?
  9. A better option than what ,a 0 WAR guy ? There are options better than that. If someone wants to pay him $5M in the off season to see if he can regain whatever he lost go for it. If you want to hold onto prospects ,trade veterans but I wouldn't necessarily want Gallo in return. Hahn tried the trading no prospects in the off season. That hasn't worked out too well and now we're stuck with terrible health and injuries to guys the Sox thought would be worth a lot more than they are.
  10. I think he's a bad hitter and has been for a while. I liked him because of his track record when he was available but the track record the last few years has sucked. Speculating it's just a NY thing isn't a thing I'd rely on. I'd take a deeper dive into what his speed is now compared to then and some other things about his bat.
  11. He's gong to be a free agent and probably won't command $10M a year . Maybe as a last resort you sign him next year. But let's see what the Sox do at the trade deadline this year.
  12. SUre but we got the Sheets double on Joc's misread and not great infield D either from the Giants.
  13. Probably needed him more yesterday with the 1 run game. Graveman is one of those guys who doesn't seem to like appearances in consecutive games too often. TLR with take his chances with a 3 run lead depending on what the Sox do on offense now.
  14. Gallo is such a bad hitter his defense can't even get him into positive WAR territory. I wanted him a couple years ago but not now. Gallo is a free agent next year. I wouldn't give up anything for him.
  15. I just think if you're going to make trades you don't necessarily have to trade Pollack for a LH LF. They do have multiple ways of getting something LH in the OF.
  16. They have to cover 4 innings. Who should be brought in and when ? There's a lot of lefties in the Giants lineup you know.
