Sure seems like he does. Smallish sample size I know but it's not easy to be hitting the way he is for 150 ABs or whatever he has now.

The batter was out automatically on the infield fly rule.Vaughn was called out for interference . -

Not exactly Ernie Broglio for Lou Brock. Both trades not even likely to register as a blip in any kind of worst baseball trades ever. Maybe not even among the worst trades of the year when all is said and done. -

Sox had already scored 4 that inning which is more than they usually score in a game With men on 1st and 2nd with 1 out. Auto out on the pop out and stole our last AB with a chance to tie or win the game. -

Yep technically that ball could hit the ground and the batter is still out and Vaughn wasn't going anywhere if it did. -

It was an idiotic call. Pop up was a mile high. Henderson couldve taken any route to the ball. Vaughn was maybe 5 or 6 feet off 2nd and started walking slowly back to 2nd. Henderson side stepped him and made the catch of the popup that was 2 the left of the mound easily. He camped under it. -

Playing as many LHH as possible I guess but Benintendi should be benched .He provides nothing offensively or defensively. Teams run on his arm constantly, he's slow, he has more negative WAR than any position player in baseball which means that despite being terrible that he continues to play. -

Maybe Getz can lay some groundwork for a Fedde trade with the O's. I hope Fedde pitches well against them. LFG ! -
Sox are more risk adverse and even more with pitchers. Crochet has been a huge surprise. He's been a great story so far. He's surpassed his career high in IP already. He's maintaining his velocity. He's learning how to approach different lineups. He's learning how to be a starting pitcher. I'd see how he holds up for the rest of the season if he isn't traded and approach him with a modest team friendly offer that buy out 2 FA years. Maybe with an opt out for the 2nd FA year in case he's become an elite 180 IP guy by then. He's still got 2 more Arb. Years in 2025 and 2026. It's just too hard with his health problems to know if can make it through the rest of 24 , then 25 and 26 without missing major portions of 3 straight seasons and know what his salaries will be in 25 and 2026. There's no reason to start offering him $10M+ per year and tieing up money when even if he stays 100% healthy hes not likely to make $20M combined in 25 and 26. What exactly do you project his salary to be next year ? There's a long way to go this season to determine just next year's salary. Is it possible to go from his 800K 2024 salary to $10M next year even if he manages to pitch 125+ innings ? What if they completely shut his down or start limiting his innings to just 3 innings per start ? The rest of the plan for this year is a complete mystery.

Unfortunately his 2023 was not that good and his track record was not long enough to know which Cease your were going to get. He also went deep into too many counts and struggled to get past 5 innings. The outing before this one he was hit pretty hard. Overall he's doing very well. The Padres gave up some good prospects and a relief pitcher for him. If 2023 was better the Sox would have got more . Also saying NY, Baltimore fans and some here didn't think he was very good is disingenuous. Most of us just disagreed about what he was worth. Was he Cy Young worthy like 2022 or a 4.5 ERA like 2023 ? Snell had 2 Cy Young's and he wasn't getting top offers from teams because he also didn't go deeper in games and didn't show the consistency of an elite pitcher.

Great to see. Great start to his AA career .

Usually he's wild as hell though. Kopech needs to get it right. Sox can't get it right unless Kopech holds up his end. Holding him longer does not guarantee better results. -

Greg the only guys likely traded are those guys who have only a year or 2 left on their contracts and/or who were signed specifically hoping for enough of a bounce back in their careers to be traded. Moncada and Eloy didn't stay healthy enough to even present that opportunity. They'll be gone next year along with their inflated salaries. Soroka , Brebbia, Hill, Kopech, DeJong, Pham ,Wilson , Flexen all likely gone if they can find buyers for them. No one will take Benintendi's contract.Mendick is a 30 yr old jouneyman. Who are they supposed to keep ? Next year regardless is looking like a 3rd straight year of 100 losses no matter what they do unless JR opens his wallet back up a lot more than expected . And even if he does what then ? Anyone any good costs more than JR would pay. The leftovers are going to be guys just as likely to be bad as good but who cost a minimum of $10-20M per year for multiple years . This is where Hahn had to live and most of his signings in that price range were terrible. -
Unlike Mr. Glass, Eloy is not a villain. There's no need to hate him. He is what he is. He can keep coming back and keep getting injured with another team and enjoy an early retirement with millions.

5 of 6 in save opportunities. Tonight wasn't a save situation but that was a dominant inning. As good as any 1 inning we've seen from him this year. -

That's a big 5-0 White Sox Weiner on $1 Hot Dog Night in Toronto. Speaking of weiners, Danny Mendick blasted a 2 out 2 run double high off the fence in LF to give the Sox their final 2 runs. Crochet pitched 6 innings of 2 hit shutout baseball. Leasure, Brebbia and Kopech each pitched an inning without any runs . Kopech K'd all 3 hitters he faced looking. Sox snap a 4 game losing streak with the rubber match tomorrow, Bassitt v. Clevinger. Weiners for everyone !
