  1. No I saw someone say something stupid about how a short sample size shouldn't be used and used an even smaller sample size to say it. Then you scream obscenity at me like I'm the bad guy when I show u how stupid you are. You wanna s%*# on me being positive from game to game or s%*# on your team in the game thread go ahead but I'll call out idiocy , impatience and immaturity any time I want to.
  2. Which is exactly what I said yesterday to another guy. You just should've quoted me.
  3. By idiots mostly. Crochet may be predisposed to injury just because he throws a baseball hard no matter what role he pitches. He couldn't stay healthy as a RP. Crochet wanted to be a SP and feels good about the choice he made. Therefore so do I.
  4. Most inaccurate post in a long time. Did you even bother to look at the 2021 and 2023 rosters and stats. Liam Hendriks has 38 saves in 2021 and 37 in 2022 . In 2023 he had cancer and pitched 5 innings. Yasmani Grandal in 2021 had a .420 OBP and 155 OPS+ in 93 games . In 2023 118 games .309 OBP and 77 OPS+ Yoan Moncada in 2021 . 144 games, .375 OBP and OPS+ 116 . 2023 93 games .305 OBP and 97 OPS+ Carlos Rodon 2021 All-Star and 5th in Cy Young . 2023 not on team. Lucas Giolito 2021 11th in Cy Young 178 IP 33 starts, 124 ERA+ . 2023 21 starts, 121 innings 118 ERA+ sucked bad with Angels and Guardians. Grifol got more from him than the managers of the Angels and Guardians. Tim Anderson 2021 123 games, All-Star, 118 OPS+ . 2023 123 games , 60 OPS+ Lance Lynn 2021 3rd in Cy Young voting , All Star 163 ERA+, 3.32 FIP (career best). 2023 Lance Lynn 69 ERA+, 5.19 FIP and 6.16 FIP with the Dodgers after he was traded. Dylan Cease 2021 was a better pitcher in 2021 than 2023 in just about every statistical category. 2021 Aaron Bummer another guy way worse in 2023 than in 2021 or 2022 Jose Abreu 14th in MVP voting . 2023 Abreu not on the Sox. Crochet played a vital BP role in 2021. In 2023 he pitched 12 innings after TJ surgery Giftwrapped a roster of talent . That's just simply nonsense. Cease Eloy, Moncada, Anderson all were pretty bad but is that on Grifol ? Grandal, Abreu and Lynn aged to ineffectiveness. There was no Rodon, Giolito was not a Cy Young candidate and did worse on other teams in 2023 than he did with the Sox , Does Grifol get credit for that? There was no Abreu. Vaughn was Vaughn, a guy who hasn't shown any high level talent running, fielding or hitting. Bummer sucked. Tim was unhappy because of Grifol ? or was his whole life in a tailspin ? The best you can say is that the Sox core was injured a lot or inconsistent from year to year. Other guys aged . Robert had his best year under Grifol. Circumstances or does Grifol get credit ? Not defending Grifol per se, just think your post was factually inaccurate and all the woes of 2023 shouldn't be layed at Grifols feet.
  5. Which is what I thought I said. Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. If I didn't know that's what Crochet wanted to do I wouldn't have asked "where does what Crochet want fit into your narrative" or "what they all have decided" (meaning Crochet and management).
  6. I don't think it's that at all. A better healthy Crochet means a lot to the Sox. I doubt too many teams would be interested in him this year at the deadline if he's already around 60+ innings. He may not be able to help a team much after the deadline and in the playoffs. Teams will be leery of his previous injuries and his ability to pitch the rest of the season unless they want to put him in the bullpen which is not what Crochet wants. He rather stay on a starter schedule. He's already been injured trying the relief pitcher route.
  7. So where does what Crochet wants to do fit in with your narrative. He's 25, a full grown man capable of making his own decisions. We absolutely agreed on the way we wanted him handled. Proceed with caution , minor leagues etc. but who are you to say what they all have decided is the absolute wrong way. Even if he is injured you still couldn't definitely say he wouldn't have got injured doing it any other way.
  8. Soxtalk has spoken. Grifol sucks. He wasn't going to be given a chance because he was an unknown cheap hire from KC . Makes no sense to argue otherwise since I don't really think any manager could've done much better with the team he inherited. If anyone thinks the Sox could've won 70 games last year with a different manager more power to them. They still would've been terrible.
  9. This was my stance . I was quite the proponent of building him up very slowly in the minors because of his injury history. However I will not get angry if he gets injured doing it their way like I did when they pitched Rodon into the ground in an important year where they would need him in the playoffs. Whatever the Sox plan is with Crochet, Crochet seems to be fine with it. He always wanted to be a starting pitcher and he's going for it full steam ahead. Let him be the master of his own destiny. If his arm doesn't last it probably wouldn't have lasted no matter what approach they took. I was actually happy that they put him on a starters schedule and an every 5th day routine. I didn't think he'd be capable of pitching 6 innings until July or August if he lasted that long. It wasn't how I proposed they do it but hey it's not my job or my career. There's no real good reason to be angry just because Crochet is way ahead of schedule on a plan I thought was cautious and prudent. That doesn't mean they are throwing caution to the wind without regard for Crochet's health. If Crochet is cool with it so am I.
  10. People just wanted a win. So did, I but I refuse to beat the dead horse. They were in the game. They will win some low scoring games but undoubtedly lose more than they win.
  11. No on ever said he was going to suck. Most of said he won't stay healthy. I don't want to be right.
  12. That was nasty pitch . Like a screwball the way it tailed back over the plate . Yoan thought it coming inside.
  13. I do think someone should be warming up this inning. No need to pitch past 6 innings.
  14. What do you mean off the roster ? Permanently gone or are we predicting injuries or sent down ?
