  1. 2nd and 3rd 1 out is a good situation. I don't know what you're expecting from this weak hitting team. They aren't going to have a lot of big innings. They're going to have to win low scoring games and squandering opportunities with a bunch of runners in scoring position is going to happen a lot with this team as u have seen in the other 2 innings they didn't bunt.
  2. As little as the Sox score they can't afford to hit into many DPs. A bunt isn't terrible with a decent bunter up. He got the job done. Sox just can't seem to come up with driving in runners in scoring position and less than 2 outs. A lot of non contact in those situations so far.
  3. You really think he's going to hurt the development of young guys ? That's pretty hard to do unless you think his coaching staff also sucks. There are a lot of reasons the Sox aren't known for developing young talent and Grifol isn't close to the top of the list. It alls falls on JR.
  4. It's just a smoke screen. The strategy has always been cut payroll significantly and flip anyone you can flip at the deadline.
  5. Probably not the point. If he's under contract why would JR pay for 2 managers at the same time when Pedro isn't going to make the difference in being competitive ?
  6. True but you can switch the words around a little bit and say the same about 3/4 of the position players still in camp.
  7. Sheets is actually having a decent spring with his 2 hits today. OTOH every time I've seen Moustakas bat with guys in scoring position he's K'd. Twice before with 1 one and today with 2 outs .
  8. Horn pitched himself out of a jam he created with 2 walks sandwiching a K. Got Jose Ramirez to GIDP.
  9. I like how signing Keller gets more responses than Harold saying there were a lot of Yankees scouts at the game yesterday watching Cease.
  10. Spring training. Scheduled to throw a certain amount of pitches. Beni just dropped a high fly deep into to LF corner.
  11. Eloy bombs away! 2 run HR ties it . 7 -UP
  12. Was just watching Freeman hit against Touki and thinking Touki is just the kind of guy Freeman should crush but he swung through 2 pitches. Starting thinking maybe he'll make one of those 7 out of 10 outs .300 hitters make. Count went to 3-2 then he hit a granny ?
  13. Most of the time guys I talked about being flipped among the position players was Moncada and Eloy. Usually it was the pitchers I thought could be flipped if any of them can stand out.
  14. Bat on ball luck big time for Sox . Muncy couldn't field a short hop back hand play at 3rd base by Deling and Fletcher comes in all the way from 1st. Scored a double and 2 ribbies.
  15. Kopech being Kopech a mix of good and bad. 2.2 inning 3 runs ,3 walks , 3?K, HBP, wildish pitch . Yamamoto for Dodgers didn't look like he had his nasty splitter. Sox were patient putting bat on the ball, running well . 3 infield hits ow with Eloy just getting one.
  16. Then you shouldn't be spreading falsehoods. Baseball Savant lists his sprint speed in the 67th percentile whereas a true slow plodder like Andrew Vaughn is in the 11th percentile.
  17. That's baseball, the hardest hit balls by Robert and Stassi were outs.
  18. DeJong steals on Yamamoto splitter in the dirt. Stassi lines out very hard to LF. 3 outs.
  19. Vaughn Sac fly to CF ties it. Everyone tagged up. No good on Outman in CF . Fletcher in the hole to SS beats it out. RBI. DeJong slow roller beats it. RBI. 3 -1
  20. Moncada walk. Robert line out to deep right. Beni tags goes to 3rd. 1st and 3rd 1 out. Eloy walk. Bags juiced for Vaughn.
