  1. A lot of that came in April maybe ? I can't pinpoint exactly when he started to pull himself out of the depths of that terrible start.
  2. If all those guys are traded then I expect the Sox to challenge Oakland for the worst record. Might not catch them but we'd have a shot at KC.
  3. Probably right but that means he has to play then. He think's he fixed his recent problems but then again Andrus thought he found something last year in the 2nd half too. In Andrus case it might've been just talk talk trying to get a new contract but maybe he thought he had found something. Hasn't carried over , thats for sure.
  4. It's only 12 innings. Our guys had a nice streak for a few months. Now the starting staff is getting injured and the hitters a little better but for the most part if any reliever gives up runs in a close game the Sox likely lose. And also now the BP will be overworked with BP games and Toussaint making starts. The Sox are set up for a very ugly run that may see them fall to 20 below .500 pre AS break.
  5. I think you're right. I mean people can say he's getting exposed and they could be right or the amount of MLB AB's may not be sufficient to determine his future worth. Schwarber was non tendered by the Cubs after a bad season with injuries after his age 27 season because they didn't want to pay him $8M. Schwarber walked a lot though and that helped his OPS . It sucks Burger has missed so much development time so now it might be hard to keep an .800 OPS without taking a good amount of walks and we don't know if that 'll ever happen. Also helps that Schwarber is LH and Burger has to do well against RHP if he's going to be any good.
  6. Combined scores of todays games might be like 21-7
  7. So that's who now on the IL currently Clevinger, Kopech, Hendriks and Kelly ? Am I missing any pitcher ?
  8. Nope . DO not need to end. 2nd on team in HR .Not playing him accomplishes what exactly when the team sucks. Need his power.
  9. When Robert hit that ball I let out a loud WOW . Knew it was gone instantly !
  10. "Clearly wasn't ready" is pretty easy to say in hindsight. It's extremely difficult to assess readiness just as it is to assess which draft picks are going to become MLB players. Many players are brought up and fail multiple times all over MLB and then become productive MLB players, some never do. Some are coached into success and some are coached into failure. But he was 25 and torched 2 levels and starting to torch the 3rd when the season ended. Maybe all the time off waiting to be drafted hurt him more than anything. He also could have failed from lack of experience despite how old he was from the missed time. Let's just hope he does better this time around.
  11. His BA should be a little higher but the main thing is he keeps hitting for power and improve defensively and take a few more walks. Lots of guys can be very productive with low BA and high K's like Schwarber. Has to keep his OBP, sluggling % , OPS, OPS+. WRC+ and WAR moving forward. ANd the K's moving downward. HIs BABIP is almost identical to his BA. Usually BABIP is much higher.
  12. Thats what I keep saying dude has lost a s%*# load of time. To have as many HRs as Trout does right now tells me u don't give up on that or dismiss him so easily as another Palka type.
  13. Little too early to pigeonhole him. I mean yea u could be right just like everyone saying the magic has wore off could be right but he did the same thing last year then didnt stick around . Was too crowded for another DH and he had that horrible stretch of fielding . He's looked ok at 3rd n. Not as good a Moncada is in the field but heck he might get better .
  14. It's a start ! He's faced plenty of bad pitchers without hitting them this season.
  15. Have we open Trade Winds yet ? Chapman just got traded.
  16. Sure sit him out a month or w/e it takes. But his head is really far up his ass. It's like he's brain dead and can't figure out that just hustling makes up for having other problems. He hit an infield pop up a few days ago with someone on 1st and barely made an effort to run. The Angels could've let it drop and turned a DP . If they had done that all hell would've broken loose here but it barely registered as a blip on how screwed up he is.
  17. Remillard at 3rd or ... ? I haven't really had a chance to observe how he's running. Just wondering how the achilles feels on a day to day basis when he's playing 3rd so much.
  18. I didnt research it so a slide couldve started before that but at that point it wasn't quite as lengthy as it is now.
