  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 27, 2012 -> 08:55 PM) It would be nice, but I think the last calendar year his ERA is pretty close to 6.00. The perfect game was a joy, he was great the first half of 2011 and make a few good starts after a break the second half last year. I think they were hoping for a sequel, but he just appears to be meat out there. When he pitched the perfect game, he looked hard to hit. Now he looks like he is out there to throw batting practice. He's got to step it up or ship out. I'm not that confident either . That's why KW has to get another starter. That being said every time you take the mound is a new chance.
  2. 4 in a row . Would be great if Humber could prove all the nay sayers wrong tomorrow.
  3. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jul 27, 2012 -> 05:34 PM) i dont think he means it like that, that he sucks, just that he might be hitting a wall and were going to need a starter. sale has no chance today with that fastball* 88 MPH fastball
  4. RANGER ANNOUNCERS SPECUALTING sALE NOW LOOKS LIKE A FINESSES PITCHER COMPARED TO WHAT THEY SAW OF HIM IN cHICAGO.
  5. Indians just beat Tigers /Verlander 5-3. Sox in sole possession of 1st.
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 26, 2012 -> 08:24 AM) I don't think it's been quiet at all...I think he's been the MVP of the offense...he's been hitting like a machine for about 3 months now. Quietly meaning no national attention , no All Star game, no curtain calls from fans, not even extended interviews from Chicago media. In what way do you think it hasn't been quiet ?
  7. QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 07:47 PM) You may be right but I think this year's team is what KW was hoping for/expecting last year when they were supposedly "all in". Therfore, I think he may go for it this year and he sees the window of oppurtunity to win it all closing very quickly. I know it's hard to predict the future, but 2 years from now PK, AJ, Dunn, Peavy, and Youk are all probably gone and the Sox aren't contending anyway. Why not try and win it all this year? The thing is I don't think he see's the window of opportunity closing so quickly. Weather we get Greinke or not we're in a good position. Granted I think we need another starter but one can be acquired without sacrificing the future. All the moves KW made in the off season and so far during the season point to him looking at the future while keeping his eye on this year. I believe he continues along that path. We shall see.
  8. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 01:12 PM) That's an oversimplification. He's had some hits and some misses. Quentin, Ramirez, Podsednik, Iguchi, Pierzynski were all excellent acquisitions by Williams. As was Dye.
  9. QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 04:42 PM) I think he'll use Reed in a deal to get Greinke and then pick up Huston Street from SD. Floyd, Mitchell, Reed, possibly another pitching prospect for Greinke. I don't think Street will cost a ton if/when he turns down SD's contract extension proposal. I just don't think KW wants to make a deal to hurt future teams. . It's just too much to sacrifice on a rental.
