  1. QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 11:48 AM) Sox are getting owned by Dwayne Wise and a 37 year old junkballer. #baseballisweird Not a junkballer if you can throw 94.
  2. Kuroda pretty good against righties , in day games and his last 5 starts or so has 1.50 ish ERA
  3. http://mlb.mlb.com/fancave/video.jsp?conte...bid=3mi5W5MVcRo Gotta check this out. I first saw it on MLB network and thought it was real.
  4. It's really an amazing story so far.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 07:43 AM) I get that having 5 rookies in your bullpen at 1 time isn't exactly ideal...but when we're talking depth out there...the guys we're bringing up to fill those slots are throwing 94+. Even if they're rookies getting by on stuff, that kind of velocity out of your 7th and 8th guys in the bullpen = depth. Throwing strikes and getting guys out equals depth. We have yet to see if these guys can do that.
  6. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 10:38 PM) Whats the big deal about rookies? I don't care if they're rookies or veterans, I just want good pitchers. Look at Ohman, he was a veteran and he sucked. Look at Thornton, he's a veteran and he got rocked. Rookies have not faced the caliber of hitters that exist in the major leagues. There is a huge difference between minor league and major league hitters. You can be a stud at one level and never make it to the next. Great high school players falter in college , great college players falter at the lowest level of the minors. Good Mid level prospects might not ever make the jump to the high minors. Even the best high minors players can't make the leap to play in the majors. Having so many learning on the job so to speak is a dangerous situation.
  7. QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 08:56 PM) We're DEEP in solid relief guys. All many of them need is a chance. Any resource spent on acquiring middle-tier relievers from outside the organization is a resource wasted. I don't know how you can say we're deep. Bruney , Omogrosso and Septimo have yet to prove anything at the Major League level. Any pitching staff with 6 or 7 rookies is asking for trouble. I'm really never pessimistic and I love the arms we have but we are definitely not deep.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 08:00 PM) With Jesse Crain being down, you really wanted to shorten that pen if you had the chance at all. If Crain goes on the DL yet another rookie will be called up. I hope KW is looking for relief help.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 07:51 PM) Somehow I'm not regarded as a Sox fan anymore just because I like Ozzie. Weird. We win big and it's like I got shown up some how. I don't know how to change this perception since nobody on here will have my back since I guess I'm universally hated. That said ... great win. I figured seeing the run totals that one of my favorite Sox, DeAza had a big game. Surprised to check the box score and see one for six, but I'll take it. Wow on Alexei, AJ, Paulie, Rios, et. all. Sox look like a good team this year; still a bit dysfunctional (OK I'll change the word to inconsistent like somebody said) but a good team. Greg I don't hate you and I'm sure others don't too. There's no reason for other posters to bring up Ozzie constantly, especially after a big win like this. The need to talk about Ozzie confuses me when so many players had good nights and we have our biggest division lead of the year.
  10. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 06:19 PM) #WhiteSox‬ now have 4 players (Dunn, Viciedo, Konerko, Pierzynski) w/at least 14 HRs. They had 3 (Konerko, Quentin, Ramirez) in ’11. ‪ per STATS LLC ‏@STATS_MLB I predicted we would have 6 with 15+ at the beginning of the year bold predictions thread.
  11. His name is Rios and he dances on the sand !
  12. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 05:58 PM) 1st two pitches were close but definitely balls according to Gameday OO ok gameday I trust my eyes.
  13. This ump is blind thats 2 strikes called balls
  14. QUOTE (MAX @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 05:05 PM) Damn. Wish they would have left him in until the sox had a better lead. Beckham over .455 with runners in scoring position since June 2nd.
  15. QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 04:30 PM) welp... no more positivity from me anymore about Q haha That's why I was worried.
  16. Good debate. I'll take what Axelrod did to the Yanks any day of the week. Whether or not it can be extended is unknown. I just appreciate that game. It was a damn good win.
  17. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 11:51 AM) I guess we have to be fine with it. But, I never saw that coming with Bruney. He has certainly rebounded from some past shakiness and looked decent the one outing I remember him pitching in. Agree that it is nice to see a rookie with talent getting a look The 25 man roster sure has been a wild ride lately.
  18. QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 10:34 AM) I'm usually one to make bold negative predictions, but not this time!!: Quintana dominates. Not just cause he's a solid pitcher, just for the stories that will come from it alone. He's gonna be pitching with a chip on his shoulder. The Sox rock the rookie. Get some. This worries me.
  19. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 05:58 AM) Somebody else on here said it first, I don't remember who. Possibly Balta? I'll take credit . Without search I have no fear of being wrong. We need more John Cougar Mellencamp moments.
