  1. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 04:49 PM) wiki? but fields is different then gonzalez and sweeney and owens, b/c fields has been in our farm system for what has seemed like 5 years (not sure exactly, anyone know?) and fields was the #2 ranked prospect a couple years back. i would hate to see him do OK, and then get sent down. crede wasnt good when he was called up, it took him this long to be what he is to this day, a good clutch hitter. i hope fields never goes back to AAA, b/c we need to keep him up here forever now, and let him grow in crede. everyone will disagree, but the season is over. lets get these guys experience, and hopefully everything will work out next year for us He was drafted in 2004.
  2. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 04:42 PM) Score just said Fields is starting and batting 8th. I hope he continues on the tear he was on down in Charlotte. It would be nice to see a prospect come up and hit the ball with authority.
  3. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 07:09 PM) Wow, someone should read your interesting and relevant posts. I agree. That Heads is quite brilliant.
  4. QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 12:15 PM) How bout those contracts to Eddie Jones and Michael Finley I was just thinking the same thing. You could get Jones' production from a god damn rookie. What a joke.
  5. QUOTE(Jim Spencer @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 04:40 PM) After a 2 hour rain delay the players came out to stretch. No BA? During the National Anthem the players lined up down the 1st base line, still no BA?? No Aardsma, No Mac (I know, there not there yet), but I did get to see Andy Sisco Eventhough the Knights lost we had a good time. My son got Heath Phillips', Ryan Sweeney's and Josh Field's Autographs. Josh was even nice enough to pose with my son for a picture. I didn't realize Josh was so short. He is like Timo Jr.
  6. I think I might cry if Rutger Hauer isn't in this one
  7. Don't worry if youtube takes it down. It's on dailymotion as well. Along with Lesnar, Gracie/Sakuraba, et al. Looks like they put on a pretty crappy show from the looks of it.
  8. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 05:15 PM) I'd be torn on it. Abreu has been on the decline the last few seasons so I would probably just have Sweeney get a shot at everyday RF. Even with the down year he is having he would be tied for second on our team in walks, first in SB, higher than a majority of our starters in OBP, would be 3rd in RBI. Although, not a lof of this is saying much compared to our current impotent offense. I just think Abreu is a better athlete, can cover more ground in RF, has just as good of an arm as Dye. Not that I dislike Jermaine. I just think this would be a good move for us.
  9. I guess I am in the minority in that I would do this deal.
  10. I'd rather just bring Boone in to pitch to everyone.
  11. Can Comcast go 2 days without having a terrible broadcast?
  12. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 01:01 PM) Getting a man home from 2nd with 0 outs twice in 3 innings without an additional hit? Who are these guys and what did they do with the Sox? This is very nice to see. If Walker was there he wouldn't stand for this!
  13. I hear they are also undefeated this season when he K's twice.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 08:22 PM) Anyone else hear rumors that Zambrano went apes*** in the clubhouse and tore it apart? I bet Barrett will be the scapegoat, and he'll be traded this wknd. A friend of mine heard he gave Barrett quite the beating in the clubhouse. Think he heard it on the radio earlier.
  15. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 01:04 PM) With Erstad going down, the time is now to bring up both Sweeney and Owens. And when we are 14 games out of it come the ASB trade Dye and Crede for top of the line prospects and then bring up Anderson and Fields. If were going to be out of the race for the whole 2nd half of the season, i would much rather watch a young outfield of Anderson RF, Owens CF, and Sweeney LF. And Fields play 3B the rest of the year. Chances are ALL 3 won't succeed at the big league level (my guess would be Anderson) So if thats the case going into 2008, then you bring back Rowand via free agency and have and outfield of Sweeney, Rowand and Owens. One other trade KW should make this season should be to trade Contreras and open up a spot for Gio Gonzales or to plug Massett into the starting rotation. Why trade Contreras instead of Buerhle? Well i would still re-sign Buerhle even if we do go younger. This should be KW's goal for 2007- Get as many top prospects as you can for Dye, Crede and Contreras. Let the kids (Fields, Sweeney, Owens and Anderson develop) 2007 offseason- 1) Re-sign Buerhle to a 4 year 54$ million dollar contract. 2)Sign Aaron Rowand to a 2 year 11$ million dollar contract 3) Sign Luis Castillo to play 2B and to replace Gooch as he walks via free agency 4) Sign 2 'Reliable' veteran relievers for the pen. 5) Let Masset and Gio battle it out for the final spot in the rotation. Your younger and hungrier Chicago White Sox Owens RF Castillo 2B Thome DH Konerko 1B Pierzynski C Fields 3B Rowand CF Uribe SS Sweeney LF Rotation: Buerhle, Garland, Vazquez, Danks, Massett or Gio Pen: Jenks (CL), Thorton, MacDougle, (3 free agent veterans) Okay i got bored sorry! So we put our best arm in left, our best cf in right and the worst OF of the 3 in center? Where do i sign up?
  16. QUOTE(knightni @ May 31, 2007 -> 11:23 PM) It's amazing how many Bulls guards are getting GM jobs. Bobby Hansen getting a job next? I was thinking "Downtown" Randy Brown is due.
  17. Congrats to Steve. I love his commentary on TNT and have no doubt he will do well.
  18. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 31, 2007 -> 07:27 PM) HE DID, LOL. Sounds tired, as if he was running back and forth fighting back tears.
