  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 12:20 AM) Maybe if Ozzie gets thrown out...Raines will put Anderson in for Mack. Funny, I just said the same thing in chat haha.
  2. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 10:39 PM) 7 innings of no-hit baseball. Just like Javy to let one inning kill him. /green 8 innings too
  3. So they have like 65 million tied up in 5 players? Awesome.
  4. Robert Patrick + Hot chick from nip/tuck + explisions = instant classic
  5. Is he the same as the "I GOOOOTTTT BEEEEERRR" guy?
  6. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 05:46 PM) 1 month shouldnt even be an anniversary. ^^^^
  7. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 07:16 PM) I like their shot a lot more without an actual QB. Apparently the backup QB is really bad. And ISU should theoreticaly score some points this year, with the #3 WR group according to like the sporting news. Also, for anyone that wonders, the college football and basketball threads are started with the first preseason polls. We've decided that that's how/when we'll start them. The backup QB was supposed to be one of their WR this year. Will be interesting to see what they do.
  8. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 10:13 PM) lmao, so now Elijah Dukes, BJ Upton, and Delmon Young are Albert Pujols waiting to happen. These guys are far from blowing the minor leagues away. Delmon still has to develop power, Upton has to pull his head out of his ass defensively with his 33 errors, and Dukes has to prove he's not a complete asshole. Dukes fought with a teammate, coaches, and was arrested 3 times from 03-05, while being thrown out of 6 games last year, earning him a suspension for that as well. Gomes, on pace for 31 homers and 85 rbi's, at 25 years old. Wigginton, on pace for 30 homers and 90 rbi's, at 28 years old. Lugo, .309, 12 homers and 27 knocked in, , 30 years old. Why wouldn't Tampa Bay play these guys and showcase them for the trading deadline? Would they rather see Upton's .268 average and 33 errors at the big league level? Or how about watching Delmon try to develop his power at the big league level with 5 homers in 217 at-bats? Maybe they want to see Dukes try to beat the hell out of Crawford first hand? No, they aren't comprable at this point. I was just making a point that it is silly to block these guys when they should be getting PT. I really think Wiggington is just having a career year personally. Gomes is solid though as well.
  9. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 10:11 PM) = ?
  10. This got me to thinking a little about watching wrestling as a kid and I started reading a little stuff. Perhaps the most tragic thing I remember as far as wrestling goes is the Von Erich Family. If you want more info go to the link below. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Von_Erich_family
  11. I used to watch it back in the day when WCW and WWF were in a ratings competition on Monday Nights. However, it went severely downhill a while after that and I found other things to watch. I do miss some of the old wrestling though.
  12. I think you need blue seats instead of green to start off...
  13. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 08:28 PM) As Hawk would say. Where are they going to play them? Lugo and Wigginton have the SS/2B locked up. Crawford and Baldelli have two of the OF spots locked up, and the other OF spot has Branyan, Hollins, and Norton vying for time. Young should have kept his mouth shut until after the trade deadline to see if guys like Lugo, Wigginton, Branyan, and Gomes are moved like they should be. That's like saying let's not call Pujols up because we have John Mabry, Ross Gload and Kevin Millar all trying to get playing time.
  14. QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 04:04 PM) Think about it-TOO MUCH of last years team is not with them-role players- They were replaced by better 'players" but not "role players' I feared this before the season, but we were doing well-but it has caught up with this team. Apparently guys like Rowand, Blum, Harris, El Duque, were more part of the whole process than I gave them credit for. Just too much turnover from last year. If our pitching was pitching up to their ability this "turnover" wouldn't mean a god damn thing.
  15. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 10:02 PM) He's playing favorites with his Latin buddies? The conspiracy theories on this site are getting more and more humorous. I'd like to ask, why is everyone so rock solid certain that Brandon would automatically be lights out as a starter, seeing as he's only been moderately successful in his bullpen role? And not the usual stock answer "well he's better than we have now", I would like to know how people on SoxTalk are able to ascertain with absolute certainty that he'd be better than what's in the rotation now. And no I am not happy with their current results, not one bit. Why is McCarthy the savior though? Sounds like the backup QB syndrome to me. As for what you're so sick of hearing, well, that's the way it goes. There are lots of things I'm sick of hearing too. 2005 McCarthy Post ASB Numbers: Category W L ERA G GS CG SHO SV SVO INN H R ER HR HBP BB IBB SO SB CS PK BK WP AVG POST ASB 3 1 1.69 7 5 0 0 0 0 42.2 31 8 8 5 1 8 0 31 1 0 0 0 0 .201 Good enough reason for me to give him a shot at starting.
  16. Glad I decided to go get a new phone instead of watching this horse sh1ttery. Totally sad.
  17. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 02:21 AM) Look what I found:
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 02:05 AM) Definately rough past two starts for Javy. We are in golden position and than all of a sudden gone. Its too bad the offense couldn't have come through thus far and man it hurts to be a Sox fan. Maybe they''ll make something happen. The offense gave Javy a lead and he promptly spiff himself and gave it right back.
